    This is one of my favorite scenes in the entire film. Also, does anyone notice the waterspouts at the 2:14 mark that are caused by and obviously apart of Ghidorah's storm? Goodness, the amount of power Ghidorah has is insane. I know I'm stating the obvious concerning Ghidorah's cataclysmic power and abilities, but it still blows my mind.
    As was made clear in the film, Ghidorah is a living extinction event (typhoons, hurricanes (category 6 included), and any other form of storms) who, if left unchecked, would've permanently terraformed the entire Earth to his liking by spreading his superstorms all over the planet until it's completely covered in a perpetual, apocalyptic nightmare.

    Notice how at around 2:31 he says they’ll reach King Ghidorah in about 60 seconds. Fast forward to 3:31, 60 seconds later, and that’s exactly when they reach him. Great attention to detail!

    • @intr0vertig0
      @intr0vertig0 3 года назад +77

      Attention to detail? How about when the Argo was supposed to lead Rodan away from the city and instead, brought him right over it? Knowing how long 60 seconds is doesn’t make up for rest of this nonsense.

    • @Elektr0hazard
      @Elektr0hazard 3 года назад +424

      @@intr0vertig0 It's not nonsense. That town was already doomed, hence the evacuation. You don't evac a whole town if you think the inhabitable land will stand, you do it because it'll most likely turn into a bunch of rubble. The point was to draw Rodan away from the continent because of where he might go next. And they actually succeded in a way - the result of the plan was Godzilla beating the hell outta Ghidorah in the middle of the sea. But they gooned it with the oxygen destroyer. If it wasn't for that mistake of a bomb, the movie was over because Zilla was beating the alien to a pulp.

    • @intr0vertig0
      @intr0vertig0 3 года назад +24

      @@Elektr0hazard Youre missing a few key details though. They were evacuating the island to save the people. The Argo planned to guide Rodan away from the evacuation toward Ghidorah. But for some inexplicable reason, they guide Rodan RIGHT OVER the city thats currently being evacuated, killing innocents and their own men. On top of that, we're shown from multiple perspectives that they could have just as easily gone around.
      Bottom line, the writers wanted a city destruction scene so they made the main characters stupid to facilitate it. Classic case of putting the scene before the story. Maybe the city was doomed, but Monarch pulled the trigger.
      And dont even get me started on the shoehorned oxygen destroyer. Its existence in this universe utterly cuts the balls off the titans.

    • @Elektr0hazard
      @Elektr0hazard 3 года назад +124

      @@intr0vertig0 Interesting for you to say that they wanted a city destruction scene when there wasn't one, the buildings were intact. When I say the town I mean the people. Whoever didn't left was dead already. That's also why they highlight the Monarch soldiers saving the woman and the child because it's 'hope'. That's how the scenes are usually made, mix human emotions with the monster, put up a somewhat apocalyptic scenario and we're done. There was no better decision actually because the monster is unpredictable and they can't just leave him to do himself lmao. It's a no-win situation, and that's what the movie meant in that point because it was the lowest and most critical part of the plot - the world's getting destroyed, Godzilla is dead because humans believe they can control what they can't. Textbook movie making.

    • @intr0vertig0
      @intr0vertig0 3 года назад +6

      @@Elektr0hazard They couldve had Rodan come out of the volcano and fuck up the city before they tried to lure him. Simple as that. The writers were just stupid.
      They were also stupid for introducing a weapon that can absolutely kill a titan in the oxygen destroyer. The military fired a single shot at Godzilla in the movie and it was a knockout blow. So the writers have demonstrated that Godzilla can be controlled easily by the military, which pretty much cuts his characters balls off.
      And if hes natures balance, why does it take a nuke to revive him? Do nukes save nature now?
      Dude your standards for movies are pretty low. I envy your ability to enjoy whatever shit through a projector they show you.

    One of the things I love about this movie is how accurately it portrays something the size of Rodan flying by. Given Newtons third law, every time Rodan flaps his wings it puts out enough wind to lift a monster the size of a mountaintop off the ground at great speed. Every times he flapped his wings it would be like a huge F5 tornado if not worse. This was the best movie in the Godzilla monster verse so far and I hope any movies they make relating to this franchise going forward are done like this one and not like Godzilla vs Kong where more than half the movie was humans interacting with each other. They made the same mistake transformers did after the first film and started focusing on the humans rather than the monsters/transformers. This movie is essentially what transformers 1 was to the transformers franchise.

    Rodan strikes me as the thrillseeker of the bunch, the king of the wildcards. He'll destory the planet with fire and wind just for a laugh.
    But then he meets his peers.
    Rodan fought Ghidorah and lost - force to kneel for a chance to continue his path of destruction.
    Rodan fought Mothra and thought her smaller size she would be an ease kill. Mothra was clever and humble Rodan which shock him cuz she hurt him where his pride was - his wings.
    Rodan saw Mothra get destroyed by Ghidorah and realized his chances of killing Ghidorah and becoming King of the Monsters are slim to none now. Then enters Godzilla who oblierates Ghidorah to kingdom come. Now seeing Godzilla as the strongest and just, Rodan bows to the true King. What's surprising is how they decided F-35s would be the best fit for this mission.
    They should've probably gone for something a little more maneuverable, since stealth isn't important when the enemy isn't using radar.
    Also, I feel like they would be doing a whole lot more to fight back rather than just flying in a straight line. C'mon, they're jets. They can do some crazy maneuvers.

      @@Legendary_jabari I know it feels like it, but remember what was happening during those fights. Every monster fight in the film is interrupted by some unnecessary character drama, usually involving an aerial vehicle. Also, since Im currently editing a review for this movie, let me give you the accurate screen time for the monster fights.
      GvKG in Antarctica - 1 minute 18 seconds
      KGvR in Mexico - 15 seconds
      GvKG in ocean - 48 seconds
      KG+R vs the military in DC - 16 seconds
      Thats as far along as I am but thats every monster fight up to the finale. In terms of monster screen time, this movie is in the under 50 percentile of all Godzilla films. Honestly, the movie tells us more about monster fights than shows them.
