It sucks to see "Beastie Boys" in the caption and I see only two of them. RIP MCA.
enjoy it, because it'll be "Beastie Boy" eventually 😢
Yeah man life can fucking suck sometimes .
I know the feel bro
@Herr Wagarisch im sorry to tell you that he died
Life happens...
“Did he say anything about us?”
The innocence !
I think it means the beasties could care less about eminem
I think that's a reach. In an interview I saw a while back, Ad-Rock said he stopped keeping up with new music because he just doesn't have the energy anymore. He listens to what he knows he likes and that's that.
If Em says something about the Beastie Boys it would be in praise. Everybody knows one of Em's biggest influence is them
J,
How did you reach that conclusion?
Couldn't* care less...
mike d still has that voice he had 30 years ago
depression inc.
haha so true!
Beat me to it!
That's because Dr. Dre sucked on his balls too hard back in the 80s

you suck!!! never put nurse dre and these guys in same sentence!
@@johnme4443 lol@nurse dre, nice one.
Adrock couldn’t care less. Love it.
exactly what I was thinking. "why are you wasting my time on this"?
They met in a bathroom..... 🤔🤔 ....... 😳😳
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
he had nothing to say. haha
He never liked Eminem's music or his "personality"
The Rich Rose Oh no? “Did he say anything about us!?” Sounds like he couldn’t care less
Fun fact: Beastie boys inspired eminem to rap
Yep
So did ll cool j
Slick rick
Even people hes dissed
Yep
R.I.P. MCA 😢
It's been so long since he passed and I am still not over the loss. Man the world is a worse place without him.
Yup
Living Abstraction I mean I get it, MCA was the shit. But he didn’t affect the world and how it is. Let’s get real here.
Living Abstraction Same. These guys WERE my childhood. Still kills me to this day.
Yeah I still can't believe mca is gone ☹️ the beasties boys will live forever
"no no he likes us... I think'-mike d
Lol that's was great and eminem does love them he's said it a lot actually
@@ritchiemartin1234 and if u are truly a beasties fan u know they love to troll alot during interviews. These guys 100% know Eminem loves them lol
Eminem loves Beastie Boys, pretty much he was inspired by them. Eminem did mentioned this years ago. It's easy to tell he was paying homage to them with the cover, just like how his lyrics mentioned various rappers he wants to shoutout. Stop trying to find fault on Eminem and clash them with Beastie Boys.
It's well documented that Em is a fan of the beastie boys, Em even did a semi-tribute to there "what you want" music video in his "berzerk" music video
He did take the piss out of them a it in 'the slim shady show' cartoon yeeears ago
He also use to stress that he wasn't the same.To quote him They think I'm a mutha fuckin beastie boy
Richie Rich "...so I told them I was Mike D, they were like: Gee, I don't know he might be." Lol I totally forgot about that song
Stop defending eminem like he is the saviour of hip hip. Hes not. Hes a good mc thats it. Nothing else.
I love seeing Adam and Mike together again on camera. It can't explain, it just makes me feel good inside.
Me as well. RIP Adam Yauch
Go Birds!
Beastie Boys are one of Eminem’s influences. I heard him say this in interviews years ago. He’s paying homage to them. As soon as I saw the Kamikaze album cover I thought of “Licensed to III”.
Look up Eminem and Dr. Dre "Bad Guys Always Die" Its Em's version of Paul Revere
I love seeing these 2 in front of the camera again. Can't wait for the full interview
Eminem about Beatie Boys some years ago: "When Paul's Boutique came out, I was one of the fans that didn't get it. It took me years to realize how fucking genius it is. I felt bad for sleeping on it."
Of course he likes them. These guys are one of the most important bands in hip hop history.
You and me both- plus thousands of others. We all wanted License to ill part 2. The Beastie boys were worlds ahead of all of us!
Yeah i lived this shame as well...when 'Check you head' hit it dominated the streets due to being used in a major way on - i think it was Plan B's (skateboard Co.. ) first video???Within the year it was the soundtrack of the 90's and everyone went back to Pauls and discovered what backward yokels we really were. I did know a couple of people who understood it though who celebrated the album as being a revolution upon release. One was a punk rock dude who HATED License to Ill (or its pop/chart accessibility anyway) who i remember told me he thought it would be the album everyone uses for samples in 20 years time and that it was the "Dark Side of the Moon" for audiophiles into hip-hop. He would marvel at the production values rather than the songwriting but regardless...he got it. He knew...
Amen to that.
rest in peace MCA. Thank you beasties for being a part of my youth
Em had a selfie with Mike on his Instagram a few months back. He's definitely respects them.
Interviewer: "did you ever do a diss track?"
Ad Rock: "about Mike!"😂
Lol! The most likable trio in hip hop history. AdRock saying he cuts diss tracks about Mike D and then just sends him to only him is funny.
The older Mike gets the more he looks like Perry Ferrell.
I thought the same thing! He even talks like him...
Yeah, Perry Ferrell and Sting 😉
Yesss! Hahahhaah
Jane says "No you!"
Or Rodney Mullen.
I just love how the the Beastie Boys have become a couple of old jewish guys! Melts my heart
AD Rock is just mellow now... Can't picture him playing sabotaje now, it'll be weird without MCA's mad bass guitar riff.
I grabbed two girlies and a beer that's cold
Hello
Ryan McLoughlin, pretty sure you replied to the comment above this guy's? and either way you are a bitter individual.
Ryan McLoughlin i feel like Ad-Rock meant more like knowing him personally nothing like he doesn’t know who he even is

Beasties are legends, everyone from every scene in music likes them. They crossed boundaries and tore down fences. Go back and listen to check your head, that album is epic. Em’s new album is pretty good too.
These guys are legends..respect
He's respecting the first white guys of rap..
it has nothing to do with them being white, they're legends in the genre and were the first to gain respect without making a mockery of hip-hop
Idk about him being respectful. . He essentially ripped off their album cover without asking. In my opinion thats a little disrespectful but it is what it is.
It's never about being white till a white rappers complains about being white.
@@thatdude3977 same could be said vice-versa 🤙🏻
@@alburnett75 I'm sure it was more of an homage to the beasties.. Eminem loved these guys
"I like my sugar with coffee and cream! Step into the party disrupt the whole scene!"
They look and sound great and are being very diplomatic in their speaking of a fellow rapper. I think about MCA every time I hear the Beasties and miss him. So many fun years, so many changes and evolutions of the band's sound and attitude; they were a welcome addition to my youth.
I said this with big respect so please hear me out... Beastie Boys is rap music answer of Tom Hanks .. okay here what I mean.. they acting out when they was young.. begin to be serious when they got older and now they take it easy and being themselves instead of trying to be on the beat with young people or acting out like Eminem does.. they know who they are.. doesn’t have to follow trends or be arrogant.. just some cool lad back old guys you will love too hang out with and drink some wine 🍷 and get a steak 🥩 with... ! 😎
I'd like to see Eminem collaborate with the Beastie Boys on a track.
I can't imagine it.
would be nuts-o
Dont know that it would be awful but those styles flows and subject matters are so dissimilar it doesn't sound like it would be good
One of the greatest collabs ever....if it happened
Well I think the closest ur gonna get is bazerk...
Love how these guys including mca always seem humble and off the media radar. True class.
wow when watching this, who would ever think they are one of the most well known performers in music history.
They’ve been with me my whole life. Only got to see them once at bonnaroo. It was their last live performance like that. Should of seen them more. But I was blessed to have that one chance. Rip MCA
I saw these cats in August ‘86 @ Joe Lewis Arena in Detroit on the “My Adidas” tour.... the greatest Rap tour ever!!!
Man, I miss these guys so much. Can't wait to watch the whole interview.
I love that their interview was quickly devolving into chaos as usual. Lol. Would love to hear the rest of it.
Damn, I really miss these guys. RIP MCA
"I'm Mike D and I get respect, your cash and your jewelry is what I expect.."
I love you BB's
You guys are legendary!
Thank you for all you contributions
living legends. can't wait to read the book!
id love some new music from them even under another name in another genre.
+JoBananas That's what I keep saying.maybe under B.S.2000?do some techno,or something?
Agreed. Even just some guest appearances on other ppls track like when Mike D was on Handsome Boy's Metaphysical. That said, adrock recently released a remix of Spoon - Can I sit next to you?
JoBananas Mike d was a country singer?
+_coma_ Yes he was.the story was Mike, got hit in the head with an object,.and was a different person.then he started singing country.both adams' were alarmed and took Mike to the doctor.the docter said it would be very dangerous to try and force mike back to his old self.the only solution was to let Mike come back to his old self naturally.so in the meantime, Mike made an album called, country Mikes greatest hits, eventually Mike came to,be his regular self.
They could always go back to their roots and play hardcore punk again.
Love these guys.
Still love Beastie Boys so much! Glad they're alive and well.
R.I.P MCA
Beasti Boys man my respect I been listening those guys since I was a little baby boy .They pioneers of hip hop old school rap man no joke
Bigger than Eminem for me at least.. Beastie Boys Forever!
Eminem looks up to these guys no need to bring him down to big them up
Beasties boys will always be my favorite white rappers!
@Peaches Peaches they aren't tho lol Eminem sold more album's than any rapper ever.. or any other person making music in the last 18 year's he's the only artist ever to have 9 #1 album's he is the only rapper to sell out Wimbledly and he was the artist of the decade 2000 to 2010 Eminem is bigger.
Eminem maybe be bigger in numbers but Beastie Boys are better. Just look at their profiles in Rate Your Music. Pauls Boutique is a classic.
Agreed grew up with the beastie boys
Beastie Boys might be the greatest hip hop group of all time. At least one of my favorites along with Public Enemy, Rum-DMC, NWA. There’s more from them since they were together longer and put out music consistently.
techincally they are sales wise
Em is definitely a fan. He's mentioned it before and also happened to wear a Beastie Boys shirt when I seen him live back in '18 at Firefly Music Festival.
“He likes us, I think” literally said multiple times they’re one of his main inspiration
First thing I noticed when kamikaze first came.up on utube I was like that's beastie boys liscence to I'll cover most new age.kids probably.wouldnt have known that or even questioned it at all.i thought cool eminem's reppin respect for the beastie boys
Super Unknown that cover is the only reason i own ems new album. props to you sir.
RIP...english language...🚑
I recognized it right away! Also saw the tikcus on the tail. Suckit backwards.
That’s the first thing I noticed about the album before I even heard a track on it. I’m only 21 lol
I want to imagine a future where 80 old Ad Rock and Mike D are sending each other secret diss tracks in MP3 form just for fun.
Humble as can be. 2 geniuses right there.
Can you imagine a collaboration between the two Beasties and Em? That would be a great song.
beasite boyyyyyyyyys!! strombo done did it again y'all
This feels so awkward and comfortable at the same time tbh
Eminem realized the irony when he wanted to ask a Beastie boy for an autograph in the bathroom
I love the beastie boys! Always have always will! Breaks my heart that Adam Yauch passed away. Still not over it and it's been like what 10 years at least 😢
"Did he say something about us" 😂😂
his hackles were raised, then he went back to not giving a fuck
The real rap Gods
That relatability. That these could just as easily be old acquaintances in a cafe.
Beastie Boys gave us Gen Xers the party album of the 80's. No Sleep til Brooklyn still gets blasted thru my house.
idk why interviewers often talk to beastie boys like they are not kinda led zeppelin status in hiphop music. like that cover thing he expects them to go crazy about it because eminem remembered them? of course he did it's not that big deal for bb
Exactly. They're asking the original trailblazers who set the trends and influenced many what the village idiot is doing with their art. Fuck outta here. Call me when Eminem releases anything on par with Paul's Boutique.
Temporary facts. Em maybe bigger in numbers, but Beastie boys are greater.
TemporaryFamineShip MMLP is def IMO. Pauls boutique is the sgt pepper of hip hop tho so im not hating at all. I just think MMLP def is on the same level. Well much better lyrically atleast
MMLP is a great hip-hop album, although not game changer like Pauls Boutique.
I so agree, been here since the beginning of rap, Beastie Boys, kicked the door down and bought rap to the main stream, without them, who knows what rap would be
Beastie Boys did do a diss track to MC Serch of 3rd Bass. It was mainly MCA doing it though. Professor Booty
It feels like 3rd Bass was just lightning rods in hip hop, huh?
Kinda. They really only dissed Hammer, Vanilla Ice, and the Beastie Boys. 3rd Base were some legit really good rappers
tinotica Pete nice's lines on Sons of 3rd Bass were pretty dope
tinotica they also dissed the X-Clan and Tony D. Tony D had two disses aimed at them
Well, I think it's Booty!
R.I.P. MCA. I usually don't care about "Stars". However, when I heard about MCA passing. I cried. I never did that, before or since, for a celeb. It felt like part of my youth died. Then I saw the photos of Mike D & MCA as teens in a Rolling Stones article & I cried again right where I was at.
Thank you video
It's a shame that any drama was trying to be instigated here, Em was just giving a shout out to those who inspired him.
Its seems that the interviewer is reaching so high, yet not touching stars. Why tf is he slick tryna start something between Em and the Beastie Boys, take a seat and take a load off, bud. What Em did is called paying homage, lil buddy, no need to get your knickers in a bunch.
He's not, hes asking a question...
Miss those guys

No offense but I don’t think it’s would work.. it’s like if the original Ghostbusters movie was getting Eddie Murphy instead of Ernie Hudson .. it’s wouldn’t work as good too much different personality..
Would not guess by looking @ them that they’re HOF rhymers, but I love these guys!!🙌🏾
I love the Beastie Boys !!!💗So watcha watcha watcha want !
Wait how do they not know that he likes them? He has met them before and has mentioned how much he likes the beastie boys literally thousands of times
Alexandra Lee Because they don't care if he does or doesn't like them.
@Alex MacFarlane thats besides the point, all I was saying was that surely they know he likes them by now after meeting him
Fair enough.
mike d straight up says that eminem likes them in this very interview
He’s paying homage. It’s also meant to be a play on Licensed to Ill - Licensed to Kill, but it went over everybody’s heads.
Still love these guys
Naturally interesting to listen to
Theres like no response
They're so old now. Type of dudes you'd see in a Denver coffee shop.
Mike D aged in looks and Ad Rock aged in personality.
We don't get any younger mate.
coming to a theatre near you macho tony....old age
Love that they talk about BROCKHAMPTON
Beastie Boys trascended hip hop. They were hugely influential for indie rock and brit pop.
Mike D sounds the same
strange that nobody has asked em about the cover - I think most people don't even know about the beasti boys cover
kRizm 1st thing that came up to my mind when I saw em album cover.
I recognized it immediately. Hard not to when I own the album and. . .a shirt with the cover art. . .from Hot Topic. . .
Thats the first thing I thought
If you didn't immediately recognize the homage in the cover then you don't deserve hip hop. I don't care how old you are.
truth
Legends!! Cant speak highly enough about beastie boys!
OG's!
"Genie Christmas." Why did he say it like that? WTF
it actually any old time saying .. it’s ‘Jiminy Christmas’.. you’d say that instead of ‘Jesus Christ’ if you were using it in a curse word form.. like people say fudge instead of f*ck
maybe cause he had 8 crazy nights
Um Adam seems to not care! Ha
Think because they got away with sampling so many ppl they just said wtf
they didn't "get away with it", that was just how things happened back then. The only difference now is that you have to pay a buttload of money to sample
FINALLY somebody is mentioning that. I wroted it nearlly under every new song he realised but nobody awnserd me. I was really depressed and thought why they dont know the Beastie Boys.
Man they didn’t seem that stoked lmfao
"I met him once...in a bathroom."
George Michael? Just kidding!
Eminem absolutely LOVES Beastie Boys, Em has a profound respect for the if’s that created the foundation of hip-hop that allowed him to become one of the KINGS that exist within it....the KINGS of hip-hop are artists like Beastie Boys, Slick Rick, RUN DMC, Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Dr Dre, Nas, ATCQ, Wu-Tang, OutKast, Dj Premier, Kanye West, LL Cool J, MF Doom, Public Enemy, Ice Cube, DMX, Scarface, Kool G Rap, KRS One, Snoop, and of course Em, and they’re a lot more
Um, u can scratch Kanye from that list. He’s not deserving of that list.
Hold up! I love the Beasties as much as any one but "foundations of hip hop" ?? .....nah man youre a few years off! Beasties were jumping around moshing at punk gigs when the foundations of hip hop were dug poured & set by the likes of The Last Poets and Gill Scott Heron and had its first corner stones placed by the likes of Afrikaa Bambata , Sugarhill, Grandmaster Flash, Melle Mel, Furious 5, Kurtis Blow ....long before Krush Groove or Def Jam were a thing and the fat boys were just a little chubby!
All that aside choosing a King is an individual preference I suppose but how Kanye West managed a mention in that list I'll never know.
How tf did Kanye make it in there?
True legends of hip hop
Legends forever!
A sabotage?
The greatest rap group of all time and was around longer than most. 3 jews from Brooklyn....aint life funny?!?
Ad-Rock is from Manhattan.
Ed Bain I think jews have basically been the first 'white' guys to be in hip-hop world because of their vicinity to the blacks & puerto ricans. One of the first white b-boys in Rocksteady Crew was a jewish dude, I think.
Legendary but not da greatest
N.W.A. would be the greatest or even Wu-Tang Clan, but not The Beastie Boys.

They haven’t done anything without MCA and I don’t mind that at all but hear me out. One final track, the remaining members of the beastie boys with Eminem. I’m talking old school infinite Eminem with that 90s flow. Man... I bet they would fucking slay it
The two best parts of this…
1. Jewish guy saying “Jiminy Christmas” at people being loud.
2. “AboutMike”.
How can they say, they never met him,but once?they met him back in 2004,when they put the to the 5 boroughs album out.how do I know?because they did an interview, promoting the album.and talked about meeting him.i believe it was a XXL magazine.i guess they forgot?
Just shows how forgettable Eminem is.
Very forgettable. With all the actual artist talking about real things and not their mom or wife hurting their feelings.

Mutual Street agnostic??
Surfer, lives in Cali, lots of sunshine.
I write for a living. Agnostic is precisely the word I meant. It obviously doesn't relate to religion in this context, or whether Eminem exists.
adjective: agnostic
1. relating to agnostics or agnosticism.
- (in a nonreligious context) having a doubtful or noncommittal attitude toward something.
"until now I've been fairly agnostic about electoral reform"
COMPUTING
- denoting or relating to hardware or software that is compatible with many types of platforms or operating systems.
"many common file formats (JPEG, MP3, etc.) are platform-agnostic
Their shrug is also funny because there are only so many landmark, crossover white rap artists. And Ad-Rock and Mike D are, like, shrug. Met him in a bathroom once. Whatever's clever.
Mutual Street I still don't understand what you are trying to get across, grammatically correct or not.
