Poorly placed shots. inadequate calibre... Butchered the elephant can be called broad daylight murder.
I guess you missed the fact that they didn't intend to shoot this elephant...it charged from a significant distance and they had no choice but to shoot.

The accusations of - poor shooting & inadequate caliber needs to be addressed ! I seriously do not think any professional African safari hunter would not be an excellent shot , or would allow his client to be under gunned ! Infact I believe that Africa has minimum caliber requirements for game & especially the dangerous game !
@@robertmintz63 The hunter was using a .416 and obviously stopped the charge with his first shot but the bull required more shots...but a couple at the end were clearly for insurance--the bull was clearly dead. .375 (or 9.3) is the minimum caliber required by law for elephant hunting in most of Africa--generally 300-gr bullets.

flavor is quite good but it can be tough, mostly the meat is cut in thin strips, salted and dried (biltong) for consumption over a long period of time.
The heart is the best cut.
