I think it's just for control and culling. These guys pay a ton of money to get rid of an old animal. That money goes towards the conservations/sanctuaries to aid in making sure the elephant stays around. Besides, you also run the risk of inbreeding, overpopulation and eating other animals out of home. I wouldn't hunt one, but I can see why.
Have to agree with you. I'm not opposed to hunting for food or killing for self-defense. I acknowledge that there is sometimes great risk involved in hunting dangerous game. But hunters intentionally put themselves at that risk. I've hunted for the "sport" of it. But my attitude has changed. I can't call what is a blood-sport, a sport, which is just for the fun and adventure of it. Or for a trophy. Nevertheless, in defense, or for a real need for food, I would kill any animal ; including a rogue animal, or to feed a starving population. In essence, I am not against hunting. I just find it difficult to rationalize, short of an extreme need. I still have my small arsenal. Btw, I don't agree that the hippo is an "under-rated" dangerous game. Experienced people know the danger it represents.
I’m confused on the camera work in the first one. Did they reshoot the scene after he did that? Because there’s no way the camera was in front of him as he shot the Buffalo? Like what
Ho cacciato quasi tutto in Africa, ma l'Elefante sia in savana che in foresta era troppo entusiasmante incontrarli che non ho mai pensato di abbatterne
Just what do you think happens to the meat of the "trophy"? It gets ate just like the meat of any animal harvested strictly for food. The trophy just gives you a "souvenir" to remind you of the hunt that filled your freezer, or in the case of African hunts, the "freezers" of many of the local people.
I grew up as the Son of a Hunter, On a ranch in SE Arizona we grew everything. I was and am accustomed to waking with trophy s or mounts throughout my home. I've known many big game hunter's worldwide. Killing a magnificent creature such as this bull elephant I would not do unless it was harming or it needed to provide me or a hungry group of villagers with needed food.People that go out hunters and kill the big five just to get their picture taken have the wrong idea and too much money. There is a time and place man to have his protein and place food on the table for his family going out with a video camera on a guy that comes is not the way to do it there needs to there needs to be a reason for this. I will continue to hunt to feed my family and help others no part of the animals will go to waste
"How best to conserve the animals?" "We'll get some rich, socially inadequate, dumb-ass sicko, charge him thousands of $$ for the privilege and he can do it for us." "Surely that will never work?" "The world is full of rich, recently divorced dentists.......it'll work"
That's it. That's exactly how it works. And without these rich hunters paying silly money there would be no resources available for the conservation of these animals, which has actually been pretty damn successful.
Why continually cut the film off at the crucial moment before showing the complete footage? The gratuitous dramatization of shooting a target the size of a house is not professional or skilful.
Hunting big Grizzlies or any other Bear other than Black Bear looks to me from my living room watching videos more dangerous than Cape Buffalo. They are beasts of prey that hone stalking skills to survive. They seem to move faster and have a clawed reach that you're probably less likely to be able to dodge if they get to you in a charge. I don't know if they're more likely to charge than a wounded Cape Buffalo but I'll bet they're more likely before you wound them. The Cape Buffalo seems to take a lot of shots even some well placed ones but I wouldn't know if that's a riskier trade off or not. Think about this when you take your shot at a big bear of anykind . . . If they surprise you in stalking and nobody shoots them when they're on you they've been known to take their time eating their prey alive. Anybody that's hunted both feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Hunting big game is way better with compound bow for me, but each to their own i guess, Bro used a rest and shot 3 bullets and missed all 3 but i do understand ppl get shot panic and shoot too quick and miss then their next shots miss too and it can happen to seasoned hunters,
Is that a 458WM/Lott double? Just curious, why not a 450/400 or 470? Either of those would certainly be more plentiful than a 458. And for the bear, I believe I'd prefer a rifle with the bolt on the correct side. Wowser.
Idk.... I actually have nothing against Hunting and even appreciate how the hunting of Brown Bears in Alaska plays such an important role in their healthy conservation, I get it. But man, I did NOT like watching that Big Ol Elephant get chopped down. It just feels Different IMO. Maybe because they're not predators themselves?? I'm not quite sure.....🤔 But I do know that I don't think I'll ever support the Hunting Elephants. I fully understand they can be extremely dangerous and that they DO kill humans every year, but to me they are just such a peaceful and intelligent species and they've always had an almost Mythical or Magical aura about them..... and I just don't like seeing an Elephant Killed for a Trophy. That's just me and my personal opinion... and I try not to judge those who do LEGALLY hunt them, it's just not something I'd ever do.
So walking up to that elephant with him, not at all threatened by you and shooting it several shots while it is completely unsuspecting of you cannot really be considered hunting can it?
Yes. Most of the meat is given to locals, with some prepared for the hunter at the lodge. They aren't wasted the way trophy hunting of the past could sometimes be.

I'm just taking a guess probably a
Holland @ Holland Double Rifle!
Either that or a Nitro Express
Rifles that killed many many beutifull and innocent animals!

Huge hunter. Would never shoot an elephant. Not trying to high road anyone. Just feels wrong to me.
I've heard that most of the Elephant shot goes to the local villages for food.

To make you feel like a big man.
Fun townie
The danger starts when you as a hunter shows up with your rifle...end of story !!!!!!!!!!!
I know the water isn't super deep, but the blood flowing from that hippo would have worried about crocs. How do they even get that big boy out?
The cape buffalo you blew the shot and then you blew two shots of the tusker.
I could never come to turns with trophy hunters. If you are hunting for food yes, trophy's never.
Just what do you think happens to the meat of the "trophy"? It gets ate just like the meat of any animal harvested strictly for food. The trophy just gives you a "souvenir" to remind you of the hunt that filled your freezer, or in the case of African hunts, the "freezers" of many of the local people.
I grew up as the Son of a Hunter,
On a ranch in SE Arizona we grew everything.
The most dangerous beast is a human...
"How best to conserve the animals?"
"We'll get some rich, socially inadequate, dumb-ass sicko, charge him thousands of $$ for the privilege and he can do it for us."
"Surely that will never work?"
"The world is full of rich, recently divorced dentists.......it'll work"
That's it. That's exactly how it works. And without these rich hunters paying silly money there would be no resources available for the conservation of these animals, which has actually been pretty damn successful.
Bufalo nella macchia ferito? In questa situazione l'odore di cacca aleggia in savana😂
Not one of these animals were charging to attack people.
The hippo heart is a diabolical pump
Shooting sticks at ten yards … really?
When there’s zero margin for error with dangerous game. Always set up for the best shot when you can. Go back to your air soft.
@@Snookynibbles That’s such an epically lame response. If you can’t hold your mud and shoot straight then you have placed, deliberately, yourself in harms way … your a pussy waiting to get screwed. Don’t play big boy games unless you have the balls to face the threat you have welcomed. This crap makes hunters look bad, really bad, and for good reason. Maybe you should give the “hunters” a pacifier too. Disgraceful 😵💫
safety standards when hunting, none!
What are some examples of invasive species that have been beneficial?

Choosing to watch a hunting show!
Them commenting about how wrong it is😂😂 thanks for the support
Lol rich people testing their man-hood 😂😂😂
Hunting big game is way better with compound bow for me, but each to their own i guess, Bro used a rest and shot 3 bullets and missed all 3 but i do understand ppl get shot panic and shoot too quick and miss then their next shots miss too and it can happen to seasoned hunters,
I didn’t know people were still allowed to hunt African elephants.
It's because rich people pay a ton of money to hunt them and that money goes towards conservation.
They balance out the herd.
@@billm2078 typically they kill the biggest animal, which in the case of elephants damages the transfer of knowledge from elders to younger.
@@kathybradbury I see you are a world renowned Wildlife biologist.

I'm not quite sure.....🤔
But I do know that I don't think I'll ever support the Hunting Elephants.
Hunting elephants? What an idiot. He probably has wanker guides to find his wifes’ muffin. Sicko.
Yes it's called population control there not pets there animals that are wild.

Yes. Most of the meat is given to locals, with some prepared for the hunter at the lodge. They aren't wasted the way trophy hunting of the past could sometimes be.
@@grnsouth1204you think they are eating elephants and lions?

Nothing like having money, but not being able to shoot, hunt, or travel properly, even with guides, and then messing it up! Learn how to shoot, aim, and hit the target first before going hunting! Do you think too many people rush into hunting without proper skills or preparation?
I'm sure many pay the ultimate price yet the hunt continues.

leave them animals along. thats cruel
The hippo was actually after a short false attack running away from the hunters. After he started to flee, the hunter shot.

Obviously not
Killing elephant is a huge crime.why this governments and polise blind for this murders.they should be either fined or jailed😡
Not very appealing but most scenarios they pay big money to shot them for population control but they don’t keep anything from it goes to the villages to help feed them. It’s a natural resource for villagers.
