I like the way the isles is going, giving unique dino gameplay, it's really cool
Honestly it's a massive achievement in game design, unlike legacy the evrima mechanics subtly make you role-playing as that actual dinosaur without feeling like you're being forced
The dewlap would be even better if you could use it in place of the other calls as well, with them flashing in specific patterns, that way you would be able to fully communicate with nearby herreras in complete silence.
I mean you could totally do that how it is now. You can conf how long the dewlap of visible. You could used Morse code to an extent
Evrimas going to be amazing once the new stock of dinos is released, the thing its been missing so far is dino variety, can't wait to see the dynamics of big dinos
the one and only thing i don't like about this is the sprint climb, it takes all four limbs off the tree at once instead of scurrying up like an actual lizard or anything like that
Thanks for the video! I played herra for hours yesterday but fell many times, I think I didn’t continue to hold RMB whilst jumping. Good tip thanks! Also: herra can fish schooling fish! Helpful too.

@@dtbrex08it's pretty guaranteed, ok you wouldn't know since your comment was posted 2 days ago, but Dondi streamed yesterday and pretty much confirmed Herrera was coming before Christmas/around Christmas, he said he wanted to leave us with something before the holidays. Which also makes me believe diablo isn't coming with Herrera and Dilo yet

Looks like a lot of fun, but won't they be nerfing Herrera's jump distance?
I'm pretty sure I remember hearing Dondi say during a stream a month or two ago that Herrera's jump will be made shorter so it can't jump those huge distances between trees.
sad, I think the distances are super good right now
its fun playing gateway but its so hard to find food as herrera.
Can you swim up and down while underwater, or do you just swim at whatever level you stopped at, with the only option to go up? And guessing once youve gotten to the surface you cant swim down again unless you dive?
you can swim normally, just pressing Ctrl or spacebar to go up. Basically is a bigger Beipi

can Herrera drag corpses up a tree like a leopard? and does the jump do damage too if you land on a latched ptera or does that only work for targets on the ground?
Herrera can pick up stuff and get it to trees but not drag them. About the damage, I'm pretty sure you can hit latched people too
damn cant wait to pounce on sum pteras thinking theyre safe in a tree XD.

Question is...will it be able to nest in trees? It would make sense since it's seems vulnerable on the ground like ptera is and it is able to nest in trees....
it can also nest on cliffs and rocks, I personally find it better tbh

Less chance of carnos or any other carnivore nomming babies...only chance would be pteras if they are brave enough....Herrera also reminds me of baby bird stealers like magpies so if a ptera is nesting in a tree and goes out to find some more nutrients, a herrera can snatch a baby and just jump off with the dead baby....defineitely going to a better main than dilo XD

I have a huuuuge problem with its stamina. The recharge is soooo slow... it doesn't fit the climbing/jumping playstyle. You spend half of your time sitting. They could ramp it up at least a little bit.
Any idea when update is coming out? Is it soon or will it take a month or so?
if everything goes right we can expect it this Christmas

not at all, I mostly hunted adult tenontos / juvie tenontos and AI
I think that despite being very cool because of its unique abilities. In a real gameplay, playing with this dino will be completely tedious, almost like Beipi because literally a pig kills you and you are left standing in the tree on this huge map where you can't find anyone, it will be like playing on a server with 100 players but only having you and the bots because you literally won't find anyone and if you do you'll probably die, anyway, the dino is cool but it's going to be pretty boring I think
you can 2-3 shot a pig, they're not attacking herras at the moment

I believe it still does it's call, and the dewlap is more so used as a "ready" sign since only other herras can see it, and can be useful to signal the strike of an ambush without alerting prey
At least that's what I hope for and the fun opportunities it has.
if you press F it doesn't make a call, but there's sound when you talk in chat

I was a RUclipsr even before I joined stress test, all you have to do is apply and be selected. The application is closed though

Why would you attack a carno in the first place though? It's very rare you will be out in the plains without a tree to climb, plus you will avoid larger predators and hunt juvies and smaller prey (Herrera can 3 shot a dilo if it pounces on the head)
@@nines5968 I never said that you should or want to attack a carno. It's just a comparison. Anything the same size as the Herrera is heavier than 175kg. With this weight, you can be pinned down by a subadultraptor or a juvie. It seems super lightweight.

it's not useless, I loved it and makes playing Herrera even more fun and engaging
@@KougaArt but like what does it do..? I would adore it if it like made inaudible f calls like they were plannning but now it just glows. I see how it could be usefull at night to find other herreras but thats about it
@@Squid_link you can warn your group that there's a prey nearby without making a single sound. Or even alert predators, find potential mates, a way to say hello, etc

Just tried it. What a stupid ass game completely starved to death zero ai no food. You think these idiot devs wouldve fixed it by now. Starving to death isnt fun make it like Valheim.
useless dinosaur, a lot of time spent on a useless mechanic that you will only really use when you've got nothing esle to do!

it's fun lol, If you think about it all the mechanics are useless if you go by that logic, you literally play games when you got nothing else to do, and you want to have fun. Of course playstyles differ and if you enjoy combat it wouldnt be the best choice, but there are other dinos for you.
This dinosaur is perfection, it's the least useless thing they've ever made
