For my money, that Raiders era is one of the top five offensive core groups in league history not to get a ring. Although disappointing for a lot of his career, the 2000-2002 version of Rich Gannon was just as good as his supporting cast. Speaking of which, those weapons 😮

Because I was so sure of a Vikings/Raiders Super Bowl XXXV that I would have wagered a huge sum on those conference championship games. And in hindsight the 2000 Ravens were, imo, the most dominant champion of the decade.
I was 12yrs old watching this game with my Dad in his South Baltimore apartment. Crazy feeling, watching your team make it to the SB. Even crazier was the following game, when we won it all. This brings back memories!
I live in Maryland & a die hard Cowboys fan but Ravens have always been my favorite AFC team (for Maryland) I remember the Baltimore Sun Newspaper every day for the 2 weeks leading up to the Superbowl kept printing a new Raven on the front of the paper. So me and my brother would buy the paper and put them on our room wall! I'm so Glad the Ravens Crushed the Giants! Rooting for the Ravens again this year..."Flock around and find out!!!"
I can't say with any degree of confidence that this 2000 Raven defense ISN'T the greatest defense ever. 1985 Bears come close. Looking back how could they lose with such talent? Go Raiders!! It's too bad it didn't work out for us that year. What a great team we had though. I'm never going to hang my head in shame. We did our very best. The Ravens were a juggernaut, for sure.
During that playoff run Baltimores defense gave up 16 total points thats 4 ppg insane you’ll never see football like that again the rules have changed so much it’s impossible.
I took my original VHS recording of 2001. I burned it on a dvd 3 years later (VOB files). I just did the final montage on iMovies last year before putting it on you tube.

Other Raiders fans like to blame the Siragusa hit, but Gannon was already struggling well before that. Gruden stubbornly kept trying to run when there just wasn't anything there without the outside speed threat of Napoleon Kaufman. Raiders should've played up tempo and used their pass catching backs (Terry Kirby and Randy Jordan) against Ray Lewis and Jamie Sharper...that was the only advantage they had and it took until the 4th quarter for Gruden to figure it out.

Oh yeah nostalgia this was when the Baltimore Ravens had one of the best defense's in NFL history.Baltimore took Super Bowl 35.Now fast forward to the 2023 NFL season.The road to Super Bowl 58.The Ravens have a good chance to win the AFC.Baltimore won super bowl 35 and super bowl 47.I wouldnt be surprised if they win Super Bowl 58.They will have to beat Kansas City,Cincinnnati,and Buffulo which i think they can beat all 3 of those teams.Its possible and Baltimore is not incapable because they are still a solid football team.
We won't have to beat Cincinnati.. we may have to beat KC and Buffalo though.. possibly even the Browns. But we just whooped San Francisco, and have 11-4 Miami coming up.. if we beat them, we have a great chance in going all the way! Might have been the most boring NFL Playoff Game I’ve watched in my 40+ Years. Was basically the NFL’s version of hockey’s Trap Defense vs Oakland’s Offense and an inept Offense facing Oakland’s Defense.

The Refs made a bad call when they overturned Bobby Hoyings touchdown pass to Andre Rison in the corner. It was a touchdown.

People who think this game was boring because it wasn't a 45-42 track meet, don't appreciate Defense. The Ravens Defense was exciting because they were so dominant. They basically bitch slapped the NFL's #1 Offense in their own house. Not everyone thinks the NFL should be a Madden video game.

@@tylongkicks8821 That game was better this one. It was a true Defensive game. Warner didn’t get knocked out like Gannon did but King played like King so the score stayed a Rays vs Cardinals score until he hit Rickey late for the GWing TD.
