A turning point in Ravens history. If they lost this game and fell to 6-5, who knows what happens.
they still would've made the playoffs atleast, might have fallen to the 5th seed
The Ravens were a wild card that year, so they can’t be a top 4 seed... but yeah i think they would still have made it
@@0RatedChess they were the #4 seed in 2000, there was 3 division winners & 3 wildcard teams back then. Thats how they hosted the Broncos in the Wildcard when they were a wildcard
@@Thunder103093 Oh...... i didn’t know that, when the NFL was talking about it in a video they never mentioned the 3 wild card teams..... (sigh)
Just like this year with the browns...
If we beat buffalo in the AFC championship, we're getting our third ring...
We missed the boat on creating the "Is Trent Dilfer elite" meme. Also, everyone lauds the 2000 Ravens for their defense (and rightly so), but Shannon Sharpe was unbelievably important to what little offense we had. SKIUP
He and Stokley
jamal
Titans defense was significantly underrated that season. They were overshadowed by Baltimore's historic defense, and because they actually had a competent offense with the likes of Steve McNair and Eddie George, but they only allowed 11.9 points per game that year. You could easily argue that this team was better than the 1999 team that made the Super Bowl
Then we kinda broke Eddie George in the playoffs that year. Or at least Ray Lewis did.
If Baltimore wasn’t there that year I’d argue that Tennessee wins the super bowl that year. People forget how truly good that team was.
It’s true. I’m glad u recognize that. Titans defense was arguably better that the 2000s Ravens. If u don’t believe me, look them up statistically. They were dominant. I wish there was more film on them
You could make a good argument that Tennessee had a better defense. But in terms of overall team DVOA, Tennessee was actually the better team.
@@TristanLockamy that Titans D wasn’t better than the Ravens D of that time but they were still very good
Back when the Titans and Ravens were division rivals in the AFC Central and there were only 3 divisions in each conference.
It sucks too because Peyton Manning and Tom Brady would have been in the same division if it didn't change. Can you imagine them battling for the division ever year?
@@anthonyhutchins2300 what if the NFL decided to move the Dolphins to the AFC South and keep the Colts in the AFC East
Yep before the texans came along and fucked shit up
@@iselin90 that wasn't going to happen. The Dolphins had too much history with every AFC East team that it didn't make sense. The Colts were the odd man out because they were the newest team to the AFC East, while the others were in it from the beginning.
Ravens vs Titian’s was really good rivalry for like 3 years in the early 2000s
it’s been rejuvenated recently
Still is
Ravens Titans Rivalry was super hot in the 2000s. Maybe it'll become a new thing in the 2020s.
Probably not. They just don't play enough.

RIP Steve McNair 😭😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏🙏
Poor guy was a big help to both of these teams in his time.
Man I didn’t know Brandon stokley played for this ravens team and won a SB
If I’m right he’s won 2 SBs right?
@@florsosa638 yep, he won one with this team and in 2006 with Peyton Manning and the Colts.
Lets hope we can stop Derrick Henry sunday. Also rip Steve Mcnair🙏

As long as no one on the Ravens has #29. Something about that number and Derrick Henry.
@@Nasdupree9090
Ummmmm, he did have the Ravens most wins (13-3) until Lamar came along.
2000 ravens are hands down, one of the greatest defenses ever
#BigTruzz
Yeah, the game was 20 years too early. I don't care, this slogan is hilarious.
top 30
@Adam Clark Statistically no, they had a cakewalk schedule. They're not even top 30. 2006 Ravens are top 3, but not 2000 ravens. Here's a statistical analysis:
www.footballperspective.com/the-best-scoring-defenses-in-nfl-history/
@Adam Clark I posted the stats, 2000 ravens had a cakewalk schedule.
@Adam Clark The playoffs is part of the schedule. That is factored in.
RIP Steve McNair
Its tragic how McNair’s legacy is lost to time. It’s been so long since this was a rivalry. Anybody else remember when Pats-Colts was a huge rivalry?
It's a pity this rivalry was cut short by the realignment.
Ditto for Bucs/Packers
The rivalry used to be Oilers/Browns so it kind of was a rivalry.
Facts
We also lost Panthers/Niners, Bucs/Packers and Jaguars/Steelers.
Not to mention the Seahawks rivalries they had in the AFC West after they flipped to the NFC West
15:41 Cleveland and Cincinatti at the bottom of the division.. Some things never change😂
😂😂
It changed now
Titans: We've never lost at home!
Ravens: Hi
First game the Titans ever lost at home.
Dick Enberg made the NFL in the early 2000's legendary.
There’s just something with titans and ravens beating each other on their home field. 2000 ravens beat the Titans in Tennessee in the playoffs. 2003 titans beat ravens in Baltimore in the wild card round. 2008 ravens beat titans in divisional round in Tennessee. And last year titans beating ravens in Baltimore.
And the ravens beating the titans 21-0 in Tennessee in 2018
And the Titans beating the Ravens in Nashville in 2011
Lol nice didn’t see this comment I said the same thing. It’s like they keep going at it and have to spoil each other’s party every time the other team is doing well lol
@@JTS1128 man you’re not lying either.
It’s like whenever these two teams play the road team wins
Eddie George vs Ray Lewis? U knew it was gonna be a battle 💯
Can we get more of the CBS graphic opening at the beginning of these games please? I miss the old theme music.
Back when football was still a man's game! I loved the NFL in the early 2000's
Big Facts
Late 90s early 00s
It's crazy how good the AFC was in the late 1990s and the early 2000s. Every division had at least 2 good teams every season. No surprise that the team with the most wins (Colts) and most Super Bowls (Patriots) came from the AFC.
That Jamal Lewis play may be the weirdest fumble I've ever seen
"HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?! THAT SHOULDN'T EVEN BE POSSIBLE!"
Super duper weird
Is that even legal anymore? I needed a double take for that one!
This was such a great rivalry in the early-2000’s. Their playoff matchup later that season was quite possibly one of the most physical games I ever saw. You could feel the hatred both teams had.
it's been one of the best rivalries in the last 20 years. Especially how many times they've met playoffs as evident of last year's meeting.
I remember getting home from church and watching this. It felt like a gut punch when the titans lost the first home game at the Adelphia.
Lewis and Holmes in the backfield.. sheesh..
Man the good ole AFC Central, regardless who won, these was the best 2 teams in the NFL that year and Derrick Mason was a very underrated WR from 2000-2005 and fun fact this was the last game the Ravens would come close to losing, the wouldn’t lose no more on their way to the Super Bowl and idc what anyone says Al Del Greco got paid,he pulled that same shit in the playoffs
You don’t hit the upright in 2 different games on purpose 😂 sounds like a lot of cope tbh
@@Eli-ss9gj 😂😂😂
The AFC Central was no joke.
The AFC North is still pretty badass, but if the League ever reorganizes again, I hope they put the Titans back in our division. Then the Ravens, Titans, and Steelers can take turns demolishing each other in awesome games.
@War Productions I dunno. If this year has taught me anything, it's that nothing is out of the realm of possibility, especially if it's bad.
@War Productions probably would make the league more money
@War Productions expansion maybe
The last run by McNair was clutch, except that it was all for nothing
Al Del Greco still haunts my nightmares.
Kearse was that dude for Tennessee
People hate on Jeff Fisher too much. He lead a pretty decent Titans team in the early 2000s. They should’ve won that SB against the rams
He was a decent coach during this era of the NFL, he just never adjusted/improved along with the game
The problem was he hung around for way too long as the game passed him by. His last few years with the rams set that team back a few years. He also had no type of player relatability and ruined a few careers. I dont really hate on Fischer myself. But i can see why there are people that do, he had plenty of faults
@@warrenward6294 I agree. I was just emphasizing that people hate on him a bit too much. I mean I’ve heard people say he’s up there with “the worst coaches of all time” and I completely disagree. He wasn’t great, heck I wouldn’t even call him good. I’m just saying that he had some good years. That early 2000s titans team was very good and underrated
Del Greco wanted no parts of that last kick you could see it all on his face‼️😂
jeez field goal/extra point trouble for the Titans the same problem that would come back to haunt them when they would face the Ravens again in the playoffs that year a game you can find here on NFL Throwback
I was only 7 years old when this game was played, but I still vividly remember the heartbreak when Al Del Greco missed that kick.
Man I didn’t know Brandon stokley played for this ravens team and won a SB
If I’m right he’s won 2 SBs right?
Stokley was all over the League for what seemed like an age. I owe him for helping me discover how hilarious Gus Johnson can be ("Batted up--OH GOD! STOKLEY! DOWN THE SIDELINE! CAN THEY CATCH HIM?! STOKLEY! WOOOW!").
Yup the 2nd ring he won with the colts in 2006 colts vs bears super bowl
That’s awesome 👏 Brandon played for the hawks when we beat the saints in 2010/2011 WC game
Same career as Ricky proehl sorta
The ravens defense were terrific during this year (one of the best all time)
Top 30
@@tommyrosati9326 Top 3, if not best. The '85 Bears are up there.
@@CharlesUrban No, statistically they had a cakewalk schedule. Here's a statistical analysis, 2000 ravens aren't even top 30. 2006 ravens are top 3, and 2002 bucs are #1. 85 bears are #5. This is all statistically adjusting for opposing offenses and defensive performance.
@@tommyrosati9326 Absolute dominance in the playoffs, which included the complete shutdown of the Giants' _insane_ offense in the Super Bowl, was a cakewalk?

Will never forget that year or season. Go Ravens.
We knocked them out of the postseason twice and the got us twice

It’s crazy how the Ravens Titans rivalry never died really after the division realignment. The home (better record team) is always knocked out of the playoffs 😩
01 Titans number one seed knocked out by Ravens
04 Ravens beaten at home by Old Man Anderson field goal
09 Ravens beat the 13-3 Titans, 13-10

Here’s to more of these heated rivalry matchups to come!
@@patrickchaney Insane! It keeps going! I wish the nfl would make a documentary on these games lol
@@JTS1128 I’m a Ravens fan for life, and I honestly think they’re one of the most competitive teams the league has seen yet! Between Pittsburgh, Tennessee, and even Cleveland now, pretty much every game feels like a rivalry matchup and I love it! This year, I believe, marks the franchises 25 anniversary, so here’s to another 25 more!!
The Titans were an absolutely worthy opponent.....the Ravens only allowed 165 points all season, and Tennessee hung 23 on them in this single game. And with that defense (criminally underrated), they'd have hoisted the Lombardi any other season of the early 2000's.
Y’all have the best highlights, seriously👑
People forget how good that Titans team was that year, one year removed from the super bowl they came 1 yard short of possibly winning. They were absolute super bowl contenders but they lost at home in the playoffs to arguably the greatest single season defense in NFL history led by arguably the greatest defensive player and leader in NFL history, Raymond Anthony Lewis Jr.
This was my sophomore year in HS. PHS pontotoc ms
What is game. Legends on both ends. RIP #9
They later met in the playoffs at the same stadium where the Titans also lost
Crazy how McNair and mason would soon be on the ravens hell even Lorenz O’Neil too
What an incredible game. Both teams played their hearts out.
It's hard to blame just one player for a team game, but kicker Al Del Greco sunk Tennessee's season with a nightmare game here and in the playoff rematch.
Got any ‘07 Steelers jags games queued up for this week?
Wild card
The early 00's Titans & Raiders both had Superbowl potential but never could get it done
Trent Dilfer was with our team then got rid of him then goes to Super Bowl. We had a few quarterbacks to go to other teams then go SB. And now we have a quarterback has been to many times to the SB and he will do it again. Then we can rub it in your face Y'all know who
I don't have to name names.
'YOUR NOT MAD BRO'
Um…okay.
The fourth down/time management decision making is unconscionable
Nice choice considering these two are playing each other this weekend.
*face palm*
Lmao
There were plenty of titans vs ravens games they could have chosen from. That's what I was referring to.
Steelers Ravens throwback needed
These 2 teams met each other twice in 2000, and both times Baltimore has beaten them
Thrice. Tennessee actually won the earlier game on BAL’s turf. Road team went 3-0
The Titans won the week 8 matchup.
3 times. These two played at least twice for 31 years
*Has Super Bowl XXV flashbacks* 😔
That must have been the only game ever decided by Al Del Greco missing two very makable kicks.
That same year against the Ravens in the playoffs he missed some easy kicks.
The sun rising in the east, setting in the west, and Al Del Greco doinking off the uprights.
War damn Eagle 🦅 and this was iron bowl type intensity!
15:50 my favorite play on defense
Gives me chill being behind or tied at the end of a game
Poor Al Del Greco. But I guess it didn't matter since the Titans still got the number one seed, and lost at home to the Ravens in the playoffs. Anyway, I personally think this is the best team in Titans history even if they didn't make it past the divisional round. Their defense was historically good for their franchise, but usually forgotten since Baltimore had an historic all time season themselves. But at least folks got to see three good games that year between the two. The entire competition in the league was so lackluster in 2000, especially in the NFC. The Ravens/Titans were clearly at the top followed by the Raiders. Every other team had some glaring hole. Anyway, I miss the AFC South.
I remember in America’s Game that someone, not saying anyone from the Titans, stole Trent Dilfer’s playbook and managed to give the Ravens a challenge in the Divisional Round
Idk, first he Jaguars accused them of doing it then the Ravens and Trent Dilfer said they did. Kinda troublesome when two different teams say it...
Look at this qb play we have compared to what we have today. There is no comparison. These guys struggle to get 5 yards. McNair every play 3 step drop dump off lol
Steelers/Titans, Ravens/Titans rivalry sadly disappeared when the divisions realigned in 2002. Those were some underrated rivalries
The two fan bases still hate each other and it's kind of funny their last two playoff meetings in 2008 Tennessee was the top dog 13-3 and Baltimore went into Tennessee and knocked them out the playoffs.
Then last season Baltimore is the top dog 14-2 and Tennessee goes in the Baltimore and knocks them out the playoffs.
in fact in the 4 playoffs meetings between Baltimore and Tennessee in the playoffs since 2000 each road team has won.
I would say it ended in 2003, since Pittsburgh and Baltimore both played Tennessee the 2 seasons after realignment
We really got play Derrick Henry without two starting d lineman man 😔
RIP Steve McNair those Titans teams were tough back in the day
At least the Titans didnt come one yard short
Baltimore didnt LET them get to the 1 yard line on the final seconds. That defense is too good.
Also that bobbled pass in this playoffs...
Instead they were a NOT BE THE 2010 CHARGERS short. The kicker went full Chargers.
The first down markers wasn't on tv yet? Wow thought they were
Ikr. I'm so used to seeing the first down line now, it was a slight shock to not see it here. I had to look up towards the sidelines where the chain gang markers were. Lol
They were, but it was still relatively new at the time (1998 when it started), just select games. Usually went to the top television commentating crews. Enberg/Dierdorf/Bernstein were the B team behind Gumbel/Simms/Keteyian. The latter group had the first and ten yellow line games at CBS.
The old Ravens v Jags or Titans rivalries are severely underrated today from back then. (Not spoken about as much)
Watching Javon Kearse gives me goosebumps
RIP to F.W. #89 Tennessee & 98 for Baltimore T.S
Easily one of the best out of division rivalries
Bruh this game was played in 2000 and i still though dilfer was Lamar Jackson
Lamar was 3 years old at the time of this game 😂
Yo can you guys do 2013 AFC championship? that one gets no coverage, and there's no good highlights on YT for that. Yall make insanely crisp and well edited videos, would love to see that.
A matchup of the 2 best teams in the NFL in 2000. These defenses are 2 of the best of all time. Ray ray vs. The Freak
ray/ravens vs Eddie/Titans was like the unstoppable force meets the immovable object . Just a clash of titans! ...Also a rivalry few remember.
The game where Al Del Greco lost his touch. Used to be “automatic Al” but this along with the later playoff game ruined him.
DelGreco probably thought he couldn't have had a worst game. But guess what was about to happen in the playoff game against the Ravens down the line! Ravens should have given him a superbowl ring too
Why isn't the Titans fanbase always like this.
Thank you Al Delgreco
As a Titan fan it is so hard to believe Mcnair and Mason playing for the ravens.
Here we are again
These dudes man
This rivalry has definitely shortened the lives of its fans 😫

2000 Titans defense was better than the Ravens defense! There, I said it
Yeah ight
I had a business in Birmingham Alabama and Al Delgreco was one of my customers……he knew I was a Ravens fan, but I felt bad for him after this loss…..
I absolutely love the 2000 Ravens defense, so I won't knock them. And, full disclosure, when I cared about football I was a Broncos fan.
I can't decide if the 2015 Broncos Defense are better than the 2000 Ravens Defense. This game proves what I've always said: Baltimore had a great defense.
BUT GOOD TEAMS COULD SCORE ON THEM.
They faced Brian Griese, Steve McNair, The Guy who replaced Rich Gannon, and Kerry Collins in the playoffs. Yes, they shut them all down, good for you.
The Broncos played in the modern game with modern safety rules that make it impossible to shut teams down.
Still, they had playoff games against Big Ben, Brady, and MVP Super Cam. They held them to 14.6 points per game, with an offense that couldn't score in a Tijuana Brothel.
THAT was a truly dominant defense.
That kicker
damn i know del greco had a rough week that week 😂
He did again when they had a rematch in the playoffs. Went 1/4 on FGs, 2 of them blocked and 1 of those blocks returned for a TD 😂
@@Eli-ss9gj hate to see it lmao
