I love your street photography tactics and the fact that you plan your shots before they happen as opposed to just blindingly shooting at everything. It's so inspiring.
I’ve used mine with the digital televconverter to get a closer shot and i love that this can get me to 100mm and the quality is still so good! Fuji does an excellent job with this!
Loooooved this video Faizal! The commentary had some lovely helpful tips and some tidbits of knowledge and a better philosophy behind your work. Amazing as always my friend.
I love the last series. Really great job. When I go out and shoot, I really prefer shooting photos without people and I honestly think that the pandemic is kind of beneficial to my street photography. But I totally agree that shooting architecture always is a great practice.
I quite like the digital teleconverter option on X100F. Obviously crops in camera and drops the resolution but, as the teleconverters cost so much and change the whole look of the camera, quite a useful option.
Just a quick tip. You can still get the cheaper MK1 for both TCL and WCL and stick a 6x2mm magnet on the inside for auto-recognition . Saved myself a few hundreds this way.
I used to typically shoot on a 24-70 and loved it for street. Sold that mirrorless setup and went for the simplicity of the x100f. Love the camera but prefer something not quite as wide as the 35. I’ll have to pick this up at some point.
dude please keep this up i love your content. it’s nice to mix things up every now and then, i believe there is a conversion lens that makes the lens on the x100v into a 28mm equivalent. that would be fun to see how you can approach wider focal lengths!
Thank you for sharing your process of shaking off the rust! It was a good reminder that it takes practice and not to get down on yourself, and I could see you get more and more inspired, culminating in those amazing shots with the columns. Also you pretty much convinced me to get the teleconverter. 👍🏼
Great to see someone really positive about the TCL. Loved your shots and a very helpful and interesting commentary. Would love to see more. Do you also have the WCL?
I just traded in my x100t for an Xpro2 -- I missed swapping lenses out and, as odd as this may seem, I actually like a 50mm with a crop for street shooting. In my opinion, a 75mm equiv. allows me to not disturb some scenes with even the little extra reach. I always thought about getting this tele-converter instead but, tbh, it wasn't that big of a jump in focal length for the price for me. Either way, great video, as always! Keep the content coming & stay safe!
Great video Faizal. I used to shoot 35mm for a long time, but last year i Switched to 50mm and it's all I shoot now. I love how much more abstract compositions I can get with the 50, and I personally prefer the distance to subject with it as well. Subscribed!
At 9:15, there's that woman wearing a yellow jacket and black trousers, which juxtaposed extremely nicely with that fire hydrant, also black and yellow. Felt the frustration of you not seeing it as if I had missed it myself haha
Nice video, very relaxing style as usual from you. Thinking about getting one of these for my black x100v. If you end up making another video about the TLC maybe you could compare it with the internal Digital Teleconverter? Stay safe.
Nice images from the quiet streets - makes a change hearing some positive views on the TCL. Finally got one for my F & indeed a hefty bit of metal/glass for its size.
as someone who enjoys taking pictures, I also prefer the “zoomed in” look to my photos (sorry for the lack of proper terms! I’ll study photography so that I’ll be more knowledgeable)
Love that sequence around the 11:15-12:15 mark....fantastic light. I have the X100v as well but never used the converter but with my XPro2 the 50mm f2 is my favorite lens for that on the street. Great video
It's funny, I was making the same conclusion recently. Was shooting with mainly 35mm for a long time and was absolutely convinced it was my favourite focal length, but then I realized I definitely have preference for 50. Of course you don't have to decide for one or the other, it depends on the situation, but I often like my 50mm shots more and I enjoy shooting with it more.
In my opinion the WCL is the better option as far as conversions go. The TCL is too clunky for this camera and I feel like 28mm does a better job for street photography rather than 50mm. Still nice to have options though , great video!
OT: interesting stone carving on building wall above Hollow Sidewalk sign. If the sun hits it at an angle it could make for interesting crop/macro high contrast B&W image. Thank you. I was looking to convince myself to buy the TCL-X100II specifically for architectural images, your walking tour convinced me to buy it, already own WCL-X100II. Now my mission is find sun shade to diminish sun glare, already have protector filter.
Sorry, I know the vid is old and my comment late, but I realized sth. interesting. You said the 50mm matched well to architecture! Exactly where I always stuggle using the TCL. But you're in the US, I'm in Germany. In the US, buildings are much bigger and wider, streets are much wider and longer, so maybe the 50mm does work better on the streets of the US ? Havbe you experienced such, when you have been here in Europe (I know, you were in Spain) ? ... moreover, I love my x100 and the converters and I pay much respect for your work and style ! cheers Tom
Hi, I’ve been stuck, with a Fuji x100v and both conversions. I’m going to use th 50mm today, thanks for inspiration. If you ever come Antigua look me up..
Had both converters when I had my X100T and used them maybe twice. They just didn’t feel right on the camera to me. I wouldn’t advise purchasing that kind of package with a X100 series camera . I you wanna use different lenses it’s just not the right camera. Just get an X-Pro series camera. Cheers
@@FaizalWestcott the great advantage is having a 50mm with an instant ND filter that’s can be turn on and off without wasting time. Besides, the 50mm for the X-Pro 3 is twice the price... oh, and the X100v has an amazing leaf shutter.
Isn’t the Tele lens really equivalent to shooting with a 75 given Fuji’s 1.5 factor? The standard lens being a 23mm equates to a 35mm approx so just curious to know because the Tele would need to be approx a 33mm to give you 50? Was thinking of buying it but if the only gain is to reach from 35mm to 50mm it’s a honking piece of glass just for that!😅Maybe I’m missing something?
I love you videos. I am also love POV Street Photography. And I will be back to POV Street very soon. And I also wait to see more of your beautiful videos...😊
Do you ever use the built-in converters? Only shoots in jpeg and is essentially just cropping, but still does more than a good enough job for casual shooting
I have a x100V, I love the camera but, 35mm. was too wide to me, I got the tcl adapter and now it feels right, but I hate the heavy converter attached, also, "screwing a lens" doesn't feel nice.
NYC is just as quiet! I see as many people in the suburbs as I do in the city! Other than missing the architecture of the city I save the train fare and stay local.
Really liked this one! Liked the photos as well. I prefer 50mm over 35✌🏽found that out while using the 18-55. 90% of the time I shoot at 50mm (ff equivalent) with that lens without intension. Learned a lot from the way I shoot. Looking forward to the next one !
Great video as always. Bought the TCL now. Do you use the 6 or 10 liter bag for the X100V + TCL? Was hoping that 6 liter can store this setup plus Godox TT350F flash ….
Good job on this man. I have to say one opportunity you missed in this review is a headshot with and without the converter back to back, that would have given a good Idea of the difference. But yeah the stock lens is a bit wide for me also.
I know, as I was doing the voice over I felt like I missed that opportunity. When I was out shooting I was too focused on just shooting with the lens it didn't occur to me 😩
@@FaizalWestcott bro I'm guilty also. A few months ago I did a tutorial on how to do cyanotype art and I forgot to film The segment on how to soak and treat the fabric. Most people didn't notice but I did. The worst thing is when I'm editing a video and I'm in a good zone only to realize I left out a segment and have to go turn on the lights, microphone and find the same shirt I was wearing before and shoot it lol
Just sold mine yesterday. Great timing! :D I didn't like the size of the setup and it always felt like I was going to break that big glass eye. i wish it would be faster to unscrew too.
I realy enjoy my x100v but there are more and more moments, thinking about the x-pro 3 with 35 and 85mm would have been the better choice to me because the 85mm could give me a lot more options in street(urban) and abstract photography. Although i wouldn't buy this converter lens an interesting report.
I really want to get out to do some street photography now but we are currently in lockdown. Also I want to make POV videos what would you recommend gear wise to be able to make those videos?
Awesome video. If i may say, That picture at 11.24 shown on your camera looks much better in colour than the BnW edit. You should definitely print that one :) Have a nice day
Man! the lady crossing the street! What a shot 👏🏼👏🏼 Another amazing one
Who else is missing the streets?
honestly dude, I tried shooting fields and the area around me but damn I suck, cannot wait to get back to the city
i always look forward to your videos! Im saving up for a fujifilm x100v 🙏🏻
I just got mine, I love it.
Thank you!!
The series of shots starting at 11:15 were my favorite. The shadows and lines are beautiful! Love these videos!
Thanks man!
Totally agreed - the black and white is gorgeous and so clean
I love your street photography tactics and the fact that you plan your shots before they happen as opposed to just blindingly shooting at everything. It's so inspiring.
Thank you!!
I’ve used mine with the digital televconverter to get a closer shot and i love that this can get me to 100mm and the quality is still so good! Fuji does an excellent job with this!
When you come to London, we're going out and doing street photography.
would love to see a video of this!
Let's do it! London is one of my top places to visit. The street photography opportunities there are endless.
This would be sick to see!
Loooooved this video Faizal! The commentary had some lovely helpful tips and some tidbits of knowledge and a better philosophy behind your work. Amazing as always my friend.

50mm is just a really nice focal length honestly.
It's my favorite
Coudn't agree more i have a X-s10 and only a 35mm f2 (50 equivalent) thats really my favorite
It is but a 35mm on APSC is not the same as it lacks the nicer compresion of a true 50mm - a true 50mm on an APSC is Chef's kiss, though.
I quite like the digital teleconverter option on X100F. Obviously crops in camera and drops the resolution but, as the teleconverters cost so much and change the whole look of the camera, quite a useful option.
the combination with a camera and the lens is awesome, and every photo you took look aesthetic and mood looking
love it
The ones in this hallway with the amazing light and shadows are soooo good omg love em so much
Just a quick tip. You can still get the cheaper MK1 for both TCL and WCL and stick a 6x2mm magnet on the inside for auto-recognition . Saved myself a few hundreds this way.
You’ve acquitted to the 50mm TCL well, Faizal. Very intimate 📸 of the young lady crossing the street followed by an old man👍🏼
Thanks! I need to shoot with the 50 so much more, not just with this but my other cameras too
I love your photos and povs! Everytime I'm stuck in a rut, I just keep going back to your vids for inspiration so thank you!

A great way to discuss the lens. The B&W technique appears spot on for a favorite. Excellent video👍🏽👍🏽

Another great video man, despite the quiet streets I think you really made the most of it 👍
loved seeing this new lens! great vid as always Faizal
I LOVED this video, i’m just starting out photography, and i’m learning so much from this POV video! Shout out from Singapore 🇸🇬
Please do more!
Nice video, very relaxing style as usual from you.
Thinking about getting one of these for my black x100v.

You should do a video on your skin routine. flawless!

You rock , man! You have the best POV photography videos
Please more POV street photography, really helpful to see how you plan your shots and how you mix buildings and people together.

Some really lovely shots in this video, especially towards the end. Reminds me a little of my favourite Magnum photographer, Trent Parke.
Great captures! As a x100 user myself I’ve been eyeing the tcl converter... weighing the options of either that or picking up a x pro1

Right!!!
I always love your video man, it's pleasing to be seen ✨🍃🧘🏽♂️
In my opinion the WCL is the better option as far as conversions go. The TCL is too clunky for this camera and I feel like 28mm does a better job for street photography rather than 50mm. Still nice to have options though , great video!
It is a pretty clunky thing to put on such a compact camera
@8:12 It doesn't hurt that downtown Boston has some incredible architecture.
Really enjoyed this episode. Last picture Is amazing 😻
Watching these videos make me want to get a go pro.
i really woke up and said i wanna watch a street pov video and bro pulled through 🙌🏼
also welcome to the darkside of 50mm street photos 😂
Lol, it's been a minute since the last one!
I just love ur vids, such an inspiration 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
I too am saving up to one day fit my X100V with the WCL-X100II lens.
bought a x100f bcos of your POV vid man.. always love your POV !!! keep em coming :)
So awesome! Hope you're enjoying it so far
It’s not really 50mm because of the crop factor magnification. If you want 50mm equivalence, the 35mm is closer.
OT: interesting stone carving on building wall above Hollow Sidewalk sign. If the sun hits it at an angle it could make for interesting crop/macro high contrast B&W image. Thank you. What I would like to see is IQ with the TCL compared to IQ with the digital built-in converter.
This great chance of matching colors with the woman with the yellow jacket and the hydrant. I would probably missed it too
I’ve been looking forward to a poc video with this converter :) Thanks, green stuff as usual!
First time viewer 100% sub. That last shot 🤘
Nice session. I think the last shot could have a great mood in color.

My XT4 with the 35 F2 is an absolute winner.
This is awesome. I really loved that you waited for someone to walk through. What were your settings for this?
Was looking for dis review 🙏🏽🙌🏽
Hi, I’ve been stuck, with a Fuji x100v and both conversions. I’m going to use th 50mm today, thanks for inspiration. If you ever come Antigua look me up..
Saving up for this
Maybe wide converter can be more useful for empty streets :)
Had both converters when I had my X100T and used them maybe twice.

I wouldn’t advise purchasing that kind of package with a X100 series camera .
I you wanna use different lenses it’s just not the right camera. Just get an X-Pro series camera.

My favorite focal length is the 40mm (on FF) and I would kill to have be able to get an X100 series with a 40mm equivalent in the same format
Yeah that's the sentiment many people who've used it on the x100 have. It just doesn't feel right to have it on the x100 🤷♂️
@@FaizalWestcott the great advantage is having a 50mm with an instant ND filter that’s can be turn on and off without wasting time. Besides, the 50mm for the X-Pro 3 is twice the price... oh, and the X100v has an amazing leaf shutter.

Hi! How often does a person you photograph ask you, in bad ways, what are you doing?
Nice vid! There is some interesting brutalist buildings in Boston! Which were your settings on the gopro? The imagen does not look as wide as usual
Lol I read the thumbnail as conversion lens like it's the perfect mm to start a conversation with your subject
Less discreet setup ever 🤣
Lol! Well that one guy thought I had a Leica so that would have been an interesting convo lol
I much prefer the 50mm FOV over the 35 too. Great results, especially the guy walking through the shadows 👍🏻
I love you videos. I am also love POV Street Photography. And I will be back to POV Street very soon. And I also wait to see more of your beautiful videos...😊
9:05 both the lady and the fire hydrant match :)

I think it was a useful video to be able to see the process of taking pictures together. Are you still using it well?
I miss Chinatown. Need to get down there sometime soon to do some shooting. So many great scenes there.
Where all the best scenes happen

Nice job. Really well done. Do u shoot in aperture priority mode on this camera or just let it select?
Great video. Please let us know what film look is your color and b/w. Thank you

6:07 May I ask at what F stop you took the photos of this lady and the guy right behind her ?
Small 16/2.8 WA and 50/2.8 TELE conversion lenses would be more temepting then 18mm & 35mm combo.
You mentioned you shoot raw, what color profile/preset do you use in Lightroom? Thanks man awesome job as always 👌
Just sold mine yesterday. Great timing! :D I didn't like the size of the setup and it always felt like I was going to break that big glass eye. i wish it would be faster to unscrew too.
Agreeeeed
im a huge fan of your art.. mind if I ask, how many hours do you spend on one day doing street photography? thank you
Always wanted to shoot with the TCL. Nice shots!
Have you tried this with the digital teleconverter? Sure you lose some megapixels but should still be enough for online posting.
I realy enjoy my x100v but there are more and more moments, thinking about the x-pro 3 with 35 and 85mm would have been the better choice to me because the 85mm could give me a lot more options in street(urban) and abstract photography. Awesome video bro! My Fujifilm X100F is my little gem. Always in my pocket...
the photo at 7:40 has a bit of halation on the light- is that naturally occurring on the lens, or was it done in post/with a lens filter?
I really want to get out to do some street photography now but we are currently in lockdown. Also I want to make POV videos what would you recommend gear wise to be able to make those videos?
Very pleasant to watch!
Sometimes I think that the 35mm is to wide for me too - I think about buying a 40mm but its soo expensive.
