    • @angielyn6310
      @angielyn6310 2 года назад +14

@@MdnightWnd you could make a breakfast casserole with it for relatively cheap and it goes a long way..
I bag frozen potatoes (hash browns, fries, whatever is on sale works)
      9 eggs
      1/4 cup water
      1 cup shredded cheese
      1 pkg chorizo
      Salt and pepper
Spray a baking dish and arrange your potatoes in a single layer, seasoning with a little salt and pepper
In a separate bowl, whisk your eggs, water and salt & pepper to your taste.
Cook up the chorizo in a frying pan until it's almost done, then pull from the heat. Sprinkle the chorizo evenly over potatoes, then pour the egg mix on top. Sprinkle with shredded cheese and bake at 375 for about 45-50 mins.
It can be eaten as a casserole or portioned out for breakfast burritos. I love to bake it as a meal prep breakfast so my family can have breakfast burritos for the week. 😊

I would add to your soup mushrooms if the budget allows. Mushrooms have a "meaty" feel in the mouth. I also add to my soup just about anything left over that is on the verge of being unusable, tomatoes that are over ripe, fresh spinach that does not have much life left and must be eaten. If your meal plan is to make a soup, small canned corn, peas, beans can be purchased very cheaply or from a food bank and can really add to that soup. Soups are one of my most budget friendly meals. To make corn bread to go with it rather than crackers is also very filling. This was one of our "poor meals" growing up. My parents had 4 kids to feed. Soup and sliced cornbread was a regular item.

You could add some of the pinto beans to the soup making it have some good protein. I make a recipe using sliced potatoes and onion, add a bag of frozen green beans and a can of cream of mushroom soup. Bake in oven till the potatoes are done ( 1 hour). Stir again and add ground meat to the casserole and bake a few minutes until the ground meat is done. Another one is cook ground beef till done. Add a can of baked beans and add 1/2 cup of bbq sauce or chili sauce. Get it warm in the oven. When it's bubbles cut up a can of biscuits in half a place cut edges down around the pan of beans and cook till the biscuits are done.

When my kids were little I was laid off. So I named all our meals. Breakfast surprise was my sons favorite. Sliced hot dog thin in rings. Fried and added egg to scramble. Hence the name it was a surprise we had that in fridge. We made it. His teacher told me he was so excited to tell her how good Lucky Lunch was anything you could dip. Celery and carrot sticks in peanut butter or chips in homemade bean dip. He never liked sandwiches. Let's all get creative.

I'm in Barcelona, Catalonia and over the last 1 year prices have gone insane. I watch shoppers pick stuff up, look at the price and then put it right back ont he shelf because of the price is just too high, and there is a palpable change in the supermarket, like, shelves half empty or not stocked for long long periods of time. Last year at this time 1 liter was 59 cents. Today, that 1 liter of milk is between 89 and 99 cents. That much of a percentage hike is just insane. WTF is this? How are any of us who not in the two 1% going to thrive or do better than our parents?

Def making the potato bake. Our grocery prices in Italy have definitely escalated as well with one of Europe’s biggest agricultural countries under the siege of War 😢 Also, condensed soups are non-existent here so I had my momma bring some when my parents came to visit me for the first time in 2 1/2 years because of the pandemic. I will dedicate one can to this delicious looking tater recipe.

@Barbara Diane Grazie ! So am I. It was also for a wonderful occasion. While we are going to have our bigger church wedding later, we had our small civil ceremony while they were here. So am I. It was also for a wonderful occasion. While we are going to have our bigger church wedding later, we had our small civil ceremony while they were here. It was definitely all kinds of good. And again thank you.

I am so sorry to hear about your agricultural issues in Italy. We are all thinking about you over there💜please know that! You can always make your own cream of mushroom or chicken soups with this base:
2 tablespoons of butter, 3 tablespoons of all purpose flour a half a cup of chicken broth, a half cup of milk, Salt and pepper to taste and chopped mushrooms. I hope this helps! You can also add cream cheese to thicken it as well. Thank you so much for watching all the way from Italy and for being one of my loyal supporters💜💜

Thanks for doing another budget meal video. We are living on Social Security & except for first year of marriage never had to budget meals. Yes food prices have increased but our Social Security checks have not. I am so thankful for videos like this. Also, I appreciate that you shopped at Walmart.
