While we're living in a technological world with our big screen TVS, amped up computers, high-end smartphones, and the latest gadgets where we can view our homes remotely, Annamaria and Renato live a richer life that we can't afford because we're so spoiled with trying to keep up with a fast-paced world. It's people like them that bring me back to earth and realize that time is passing quickly so I really need to slow down and appreciate and enjoy what's in front of me in the now and not worry about the later.
I don't think we are spoiled but imprisoned by our tech world - because the culture around us demands we interact constantly through technology - these were such lovely people - I wish I had had a loving family. Oh, well it was a beautiful experience to watch these folks enjoy each other.

My advice to you, Melanie. Be patient. One day you will travel to Italia...the people, food, sights there are amazing...whenever I return from a trip to Italy, people tell me I look more relaxed and happier prior to leaving for Italy. But you must get to know the people there and speak the language, even if only a basic level

Our friends who are from modena have asked us over the years to come with them when they go back to Italy. And we were actually going to go this year with them because it is our 50th anniversary in two weeks. I was 17 and my husband was 19. We still are very much in love and have fun together. But let me tell you when I watch your videos I think man in another life I would love to be doing what you’re doing. It almost makes me cry to see the beauty there and how much fun and joy you have. I will pray that if it’s God‘s will he bring a wonderful person in your life to spend your future years with.

I NEVER comment on videos, so it has to be pretty special for me to branch out...I spent a week on the Amalfi coast last September, and it was a dream trip of a lifetime. This whole video made me so absolutely over the moon happy inside to experience. The windy highway (which I got carsick on), the hundreds of steps going up the side of the beautiful hills filled with fruit trees, the sparkling sea. Thank you Kylie for sharing this with us. I loved the people there, you can tell that they have such a different outlook than we do in the States (which I am a proud citizen of), but it was a breath of fresh air, and I loved reliving it tonight. For them, the world has stood still. My parents brought that Italian life with them to Canada 65 years ago, still living the same values and raised us the same way. That's the Italy that I love. Not a big fan of the tourism, although it's necessary to keep the Italian economy viable. Every time I go to Italy I try to visit with some of the locals and I fall in love with the country all over again. The Italian way of living - La Bella Figura.

What a beautiful and artistic video Kylie. It evokes all sorts of emotions because I think a lot of us would like to go back to the simpler way of life. There are definitely similarities to the way I grew up in Ireland, although even then supermarkets were sprouting up in country towns and people were giving up their vegetable gardens and losing a bit of their self-sufficient lifestyle. This also brings back happy memories of the few months I spent in Tuscany in my early twenties. I was lucky enough to stay with a lovely family whose granny taught me a few recipes. They liked their rabbits! We gathered herbs in the Tuscan hills and used them for cooking too. Even if we live in other places, we can still appreciate what we have and create our own little bit of heaven. I live in Germany and love going to the big market in town at the weekend and share your joy of cooking and sewing and generally being creative. So happy you've found your beau and I look forward to continuing watching your gorgeous videos and all you share with us. If I'm lucky, I'll be visiting Tuscany this autumn as a good friend has moved there.

Is it normal for me to cry while watching this? I live in the west, have been working from home the past couple of months, thankful I still have a job. But God.... it's like i'm just passing time. I am from a country like Italy, with warm people where there is a simple life but full of social contacts. When I go back there I feel such warmth like I see in this video's. It's impossible not to get emotional.

I grew up in the US as the son of an Italian immigrant (my Dad) and a first generation woman (my mom). I recall being about 12-years-old and visiting "cousins" (we weren't related but acted as if we were) who had gardens like this. My Dad had pretty much turned are entire backyard into a mini farm. We even had a few chickens and rabbits. At this age I wanted to be like the other American kids and was embarrassed by my heritage. At around 20 I realized how lucky I am and what a beautiful culture I came from. This video reminds me of all those visits to my "cousins" and all the little old ladies who loved to kiss you and pinch cheeks. Of course, they loved to feed you too! Che bello!
7-24-21 What a sweet couple! Their love for each other is beautiful to see. I love the sense of community that you find in Italian culture. People are connected and care about each other. Life in the U.S. is very fast paced, transient (people moving all over the place), and expensive. Many are so busy and stressed that they're just existing and not living. These people know how to live!
I was in Positano in Oct 2019 and I felt that same warmth. I recall those scenes when going through the town. It’s stunning. Anna Maria reminds me of my mother and her sister Connie.

Dear Kylie, no doubts that only beauty is not enough to come close to people that fast, you have a beautiful openness and friendliness that is a pleasure to watch. As I spent in post lock-down time(june) an incredible week there, without tourists, the place felt even more authentic. Admittedly they are specially gifted with hospitality and known for that. Coming from Tuscany I think you will find a little less hospitality, unfortunately. But if you are lucky enough that understand you get the best sense of humor in Italy. Tuscans are funny. I recharge with some good laughs when I go home ... keep doing this. I am curious about Tuscany now...

Another uplifting episode. The scene of chickens and rabbits reminded me of the good old days of my grandma house in Cairo. She used to grew everything, like this lovely lady, from meat to vegetables and bread. Sadly her children didn’t appreciate her authentic life style and sold house after her death. That is why I felt emotional and a bit tearful, watching your video, but I felt happy. It is great to see that some in Italy live the same way authentic, and dare I say happier way. So thank you 😘
We live in N. Italy, but every Summer we go to my father in law's birth home in the mountains in Lazio, about an hour from Rome. My in law's have passed but nonetheless we still go up every August and spend 3 weeks there with my Sister in law's family. Nobody lives there permanently because most of them moved to Rome years ago but when we meet up there it is beautiful and the locals who still live there live exactly like Renato and Annamaria, it's beautiful 😍
Loved this video! I live in America. When I was a child it was very common to see Italian grandparents living with or near the family. Mine lived down the street. They always kept a very big garden and tried to be as self sufficient as possible. They kept everything, didn't throw much away. And of course all food like pasta was fatti in casa.

I NEVER comment on videos, so it has to be pretty special for me to branch out...I spent a week on the Amalfi coast last September, and it was a dream trip of a lifetime. This whole video made me so absolutely over the moon happy inside to experience. The windy highway (which I got carsick on), the hundreds of steps going up the side of the beautiful hills filled with fruit trees, the sparkling sea. Thank you Kylie for sharing this with us. I loved the people there, you can tell that they have such a different outlook than we do in the States (which I am a proud citizen of), but it was a breath of fresh air, and I loved reliving it tonight. You are also adorable and made this story come together with such heart. Well done!

For them, the world has stood still. My parents brought that Italian life with them to Canada 65 years ago, still living the same values and raised us the same way. That's the Italy that I love. Not a big fan of the tourism, although it's necessary to keep the Italian economy viable. Every time I go to Italy I try to visit with some of the locals and I fall in love with the country all over again. The Italian way of living - La Bella Figura.

What a beautiful and artistic video Kylie. It evokes all sorts of emotions because I think a lot of us would like to go back to the simpler way of life. There are definitely similarities to the way I grew up in Ireland, although even then supermarkets were sprouting up in country towns and people were giving up their vegetable gardens and losing a bit of their self-sufficient lifestyle. This also brings back happy memories of the few months I spent in Tuscany in my early twenties. I was lucky enough to stay with a lovely family whose granny taught me a few recipes. They liked their rabbits! We gathered herbs in the Tuscan hills and used them for cooking too. Even if we live in other places, we can still appreciate what we have and create our own little bit of heaven. I live in Germany and love going to the big market in town at the weekend and share your joy of cooking and sewing and generally being creative. So happy you've found your beau and I look forward to continuing watching your gorgeous videos and all you share with us. If I'm lucky, I'll be visiting Tuscany this autumn as a good friend has moved there.

I spend every summer in Positano and Capri (until this one) - the conversations with the older generation and their stories truly capture my heart. Is it normal for me to cry while watching this? I live in the west, have been working from home the past couple of months, thankful I still have a job. But God.... it's like i'm just passing time. I am from a country like Italy, with warm people where there is a simple life but full of social contacts. When I go back there I feel such warmth like I see in this video's. I grew up in the US as the son of an Italian immigrant (my Dad) and a first generation woman (my mom). I recall being about 12-years-old and visiting "cousins" (we weren't related but acted as if we were) who had gardens like this. My Dad had pretty much turned are entire backyard into a mini farm. We even had a few chickens and rabbits. At this age I wanted to be like the other American kids and was embarrassed by my heritage. At around 20 I realized how lucky I am and what a beautiful culture I came from. This video reminds me of all those visits to my "cousins" and all the little old ladies who loved to kiss you and pinch cheeks. Of course, they loved to feed you too! Che bello!

Life in the U.S. is very fast paced, transient (people moving all over the place), and expensive. Many are so busy and stressed that they're just existing and not living. These people know how to live!

Dear Kylie, no doubts that only beauty is not enough to come close to people that fast, you have a beautiful openness and friendliness that is a pleasure to watch. As I spent in post lock-down time(june) an incredible week there, without tourists, the place felt even more authentic. Admittedly they are specially gifted with hospitality and known for that. Coming from Tuscany I think you will find a little less hospitality, unfortunately. But if you are lucky enough that understand you get the best sense of humor in Italy. Tuscans are funny. I recharge with some good laughs when I go home ... keep doing this. I am curious about Tuscany now...

Another uplifting episode. The scene of chickens and rabbits reminded me of the good old days of my grandma house in Cairo. She used to grew everything, like this lovely lady, from meat to vegetables and bread. Sadly her children didn’t appreciate her authentic life style and sold house after her death. That is why I felt emotional and a bit tearful, watching your video, but I felt happy. It is great to see that some in Italy live the same way authentic, and dare I say happier way.

We live in N. Italy, but every Summer we go to my father in law's birth home in the mountains in Lazio, about an hour from Rome. My in law's have passed but nonetheless we still go up every August and spend 3 weeks there with my Sister in law's family. Nobody lives there permanently because most of them moved to Rome years ago but when we meet up there it is beautiful and the locals who still live there live exactly like Renato and Annamaria, it's beautiful 😍
Loved this video! I live in America. When I was a child it was very common to see Italian grandparents living with or near the family. Mine lived down the street. They always kept a very big garden and tried to be as self sufficient as possible. They kept everything, didn't throw much away. And of course all food like pasta was fatti in casa.
