      I have always loved her performance in 'Three's Company.' John Ritter rightfully deserves praises no doubt, but Suzanne Somers should get lots of credit as well... Many people look at her cuteness and sexiness, but then forget how difficult it is to take a stereotypical 'dumb blonde' role and make it funny and credible! IMHO, it takes a lot of intelligence to morph into some flaky character and recite silly dialogs, and make it all look fun and natural.

      @@kathyodom5372 We may have to agree to disagree here. Sitcom actors have to make implausible situations look plausible and deliver their lines with great timing, in order to make any show work. While Suzanne may not have been among the greatest, but IMHO she had held her own while on 'Three's Company'. There is NO WAY she can be a total airhead and then pull off acting like a total airhead on a live recording. Comedy timing isn't easy.

    H/H match update and preview of the week ahead:
    ...
    ~~~First, a brief note about the week we didn't see:
    Week 206 (episodes 1026-1030) was taped on July 16, 1977 and originally aired in early to mid-August. As everyone must know by now, that entire week is missing (or at least unavailable).
    Brett, Charles, and Richard were all present and accounted for. Fannie was the sixth-seat semi-regular, and that was her 63rd week of 90. Elaine Joyce appeared (fourth seat) for her 18th week of 26. Rounding out the panel (in the first seat) was Adam Arkin - that was his one and only week on the Match Game panel.
    ~~~And now, on to this week:
    This is now week 207 of our favorite classic game show (the final week will be number 291). These episodes were taped on July 17, 1977, and originally aired in mid-August of 1977.
    *Note: There is yet another missing/unavailable episode this week as well, namely 1035, the "Friday" show, so this will sadly be another short week.
    Our three stalwart regulars are all in their places with bright, shiny faces, and we've got two very familiar Match Game panelists joining them along with one "new kid on the block" this week:
    ~~~After five weeks off, semi-regular Patti Deutsch returns for her 33rd week of 42. Patti has scored one H/H match in her two attempts.
    ~~~Nipsey Russell is back for his 17th week (of 28 total). Nipsey last played in episodes 966-970 (when he filled in for CNR), but he has yet to score his first head-to-head match, despite 8 attempts so far. Fingers crossed that he clinches that first match this week!
    ~~~Last but not least, we have another "one-and-done" celebrity panelist: Suzanne Somers.
    Looking back, King Richard answered two of the three H/H questions and Charles tried his hand at the third one last week (two weeks ago actually - all stats obviously disregard the missing week). As you recall, it was a short week, with only three of the five episodes available.
    Reviewing the past 61 weeks, Richard has played 259 times. Everyone else combined played 46 times. (Charles had 16 opportunities, Brett 11, Fannie 9, Betty 3, Lynn Deerfield 1, Gary Burghoff 1, Rosemary Forsyth 1, Nipsey Russell 1, Meg Bennett 1, Scoey Mitchell 1, and Trish Stewart 1.) Percentage-wise, Richard has answered an astounding *84.9%* of all the H/H questions over these past 61 weeks.
    And now, after our unfortunate break of 7 unavailable episodes, it's time to rejoin Match Game '77!
    ~~~Today's action:
    (We meet our champion who Gene says has won two games and $6,200 so far.)
    It took a tie-breaker, but our champion wins her third game thanks to Brett's "Spits."
    *Today's audience match question: "Ron ________"*
    (My thoughts: Howard, Palillo, Reagan)
    Of course I thought of five-week MG panelist Ron Palillo who just appeared a few weeks back, in episodes 966-970
    The celebs: Richard (Howard), Charles (two unlikely answers: TV journalist Ron Cochran and choreographer Ron Field), Nipsey (Palillo)
    The choice: Howard
    The answers: Reagan, Nessen, Howard
    Based on the fact that she started off today having won two games and $6,200, she must have won at least one H/H match. My guess is $200 for winning two games, $1,000 for two $500 audience matches, and $5,000 for one H/H match.
    She chooses King Richard, suggesting she likely chose him the prior two times as well, and matched one of the two times.
    Stats (obviously not including the unavailable episodes): Richard has matched 84 of his 200 most recent attempts (42.0%), 67 of his last 157 attempts (42.7%), 47 of his last 107 attempts (43.9%), 23 of his last 60 attempts (38.3%), and 4 of his last 17 attempts (23.5%). His overall success rate is *41.7%* and this is his 678th attempt so far.
    For the sake of comparison: Charles has matched 33 of his 69 attempts (47.8%), Brett has matched 29 of her 69 attempts (42.0%), and Richard has matched 282 of his 677 attempts (41.7%). Patti has matched one of her two attempts, and Nipsey has made 8 attempts, but has yet to score his first match. Suzanne hasn't answered a head-to-head question yet.
    *Today's H/H question: "Engagement________"*
    (Sounds like another "gimme" today. Engagement ring seems the obvious choice.)
    Richard quickly files his response.
    Our champion quickly offers the predicted answer, receiving a boisterous round of applause. Sound like a sure winner today!
    Yes, indeed!
    Richard scores his 283rd H/H match today.
    ~~~Finally, here's our updated leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy:
    (Note: An asterisk before a celebrity's name signifies that she has "retired" from the show and her H/H stats are now complete.)
    (Note: For tied scores, I consider the one with the greater number of matches to be higher; if the matches are equal, the celeb who first achieved that score goes on top.)
    Orson Bean - 100% (4 wins in 4 attempts).
    TIE: (*)Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts).
    TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts).
    Gary Burghoff - 71.4% (5 wins in 7 attempts).
    Betty - 50.0% (19 wins in 38 attempts).
    Fannie - 48.3% (14 wins in 29 attempts).
    Charles - 47.8% (33 wins in 69 attempts).
    Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts).
    Brett - 42.0% (29 wins in 69 attempts).
    Richard - 41.7% (283 wins in 678 attempts).
    Bert Convy - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts).
    *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 1031, excluding the lost/missing/damaged episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325, 645, and 910. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!") -- Also, note that episode 849 was never produced. (These stats do, however, include the H/H results of missing episode 968 as those results were revealed in episode 969.) Additionally, the seven episodes spanning 1024-1030 are missing/unavailable, and their H/H results are unknown and also excluded from these stats.
    Interesting to think that a real-life 102-year-old person, assuming the letter was written that year, would have been born in 1874-1875. Just imagine how much the world around them would have changed in their long lifetime. A 102-year-old person today would have already seen cars and movies, while one back then would have been born just before phones and electricity started coming into use.
    It's also funny to put this episode in retrospect when they allude to Ronald Reagan as a Where is he now? actor. Oh how things would change in so short a time.
    Richard Dawson won a lot of contestants a lot of money & made a lot of families extremely happy & helped them to either buy a house or help to pay off a house of to help put parents children through school & Richard genuinely seemed happy to do so 🙂With Richard & Brett Somers being regulars on the "Match Game" TV Show i wonder what kind of money they made per show or weekly back then? They wern't getting rich by anymeans but i'm quite sure it helped to pay their bills as well in expensive "Hollywood,California" 🙂& then Richard Dawson would land the big role as the host to the "Family Fued" TV game show in which "Match Game" helped groom him & to watch Gene Rayburn nightly work his magic except Richard Dawson worked a lot of magic with his lips & tongue LOL!!
