LONG time fan of both Arlene Francis and Martin Gabel - The essence of class and charm. I'd never seen this before.. beautiful tribute. Only child, Peter Gabel passed away at age 75, on Oct. 5, 2022.
@@Gods2ndFavoriteBassPlyr Yes it's sad to know that they are all gone especially with Peter so young here. But I'd have to say they all lived good lives, and that's all we can really hope for.
He was a Tony-award winning actor, somewhat more prolific but less successful as a Broadway producer. She was one of the wittiest and sympathetic personalities on TV. When anyone puts down someone known as a "TV personality," remind them of Miss Francis. I remember her, though it's not listed as a credit of hers at IMDB, as the host of _Amahl and the Night Visitors_ on several years of its annual broadcast. I remember her long-running radio interview show. And, of course, _What's My Line?_ Sadly, Peter Gabel died nearly two years ago.
I grew up watching "What's My Line" in its original form, moderated by John Charles Daly. Thank you for this! It brings back some happy memories of my childhood in that era.
What's My Line was a little before my time to be able to watch it on TV live, but I discovered it on RUclips. And it's one of the best things I've found on RUclips to occupy my time.
They appeared to be nice, decent people. Well before my time. Just came across the "What's my line Show" a few months ago. Most of the .mistery challangers were total unkown to me. The show featuring Salvador Dali (watched it yoday) was highly interesting. He was quite a character -- even had a book published by Bennett Ceft. In sum, I became a adicted to the show.
@@albertseabra9226 up until a few years ago, I had never watched an episode of What's My Line. I was watching a compilation of funny game show answers, and there were a few clips from WML. So then I watched some full WML episodes. That's all it took for me to get hooked on the show and the people.
I’ve been watching as many of these 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸episodes on RUclips as I can find Such different times, different people. Absolutely! It should be noted that Miss Francis bore Peter when she was almost forty- back then a rather advanced and risky age for a mother to have a child. Thankfully, both mother and child were healthy and he was brilliant from Day One. Professor Gabel lived to 75 until his 2022 passing -leaving a surviving son.
The track was included in a royalty-free package I bought awhile back. There seems to be a bit of mystery surrounding who composed it, as mentioned in the comments in this video about the song. Either way, it's very pleasant and works well with the pictures. ruclips.net/video/HxfUJqShkMs/видео.html

@@4seeableTV and voiceguy3635, Good Grief! In many comments sections made on "What's My Line" shows, that same mindset was often expressed, but not by women! Martin Gabel's appeal was his energy- both mental and physical. Also his numerous professional accomplishments, self confidence, humour, his wonderful voice...he and Miss Francis made a solid, romantic, loving couple. As a woman, I can say Mr. Gabel could park his slippers under my bed anytime! (sorry, Arlene)

@@gnirolnamlerf593 That's very well said. Thanks for your input.
I was so sad to hear that Peter Passed away. He was quite distinguished as a professor, and very highly spoken of, by his student and faculty.

I made the mistake of looking up pictures of Peter as an adult. Don't go there.

Is that their son, Clarke?

Lol! No their son's name is Peter.
Is Clarke still in the Navy?.

I never would have guessed a girl like Miss Francis would go for a guy who looked like Martin Gabel.
He certainly hit the lottery with her. I guess she saw things in him that appealed to her.

Martin Gabel was Arlene’s second husband.
I guess the same thinking applies with the 24 year old cheerleader who thinks 72 year old bill belichik is a catch.

He just passed away a short time ago. He was very funny on What's My Line and stumped her both times. Too bad he turned left wing.
