    There were several Happy Days references that week. And Potsie was on the panel the following week.

      Cosell was so overexposed by the late 70s he was really disliked. Cosell also was very opinionated and egotistical so it was easy to dislike him. To top it off he had a $5 hairpiece.

    H/H match update:
    ...
    ~~~Today's action:
    Well, a fourth consecutive champion is defeated after winning a single game. He won $350.
    *Today's audience match question: "________Bull"*
    (My thoughts: Sitting, Full of, Brahma)
    The celebs: Richard (Sitting), Brett (No), Joyce (Brahma)
    The choice: Sitting
    The answers: Brave, Ferdinand the, Sitting
    The last three champions all chose Richard for their one-and-only H/H, and all three came up empty. In fact, Richard has matched only once in his past seven attempts. But experience has shown that the contestants disregard his actual performance and persist in the myth that he's the best at matching in the head-to-head, so I expect that this champion will follow suit.
    Of course, it's Richard. At least it feels like he's "due" for a win after four consecutive losses. Anyway, this is King Richard's seventh consecutive play, and he's been chosen 135 of the past 149 times. (Charles answered five of the remaining questions, Fannie took three, and Rosemary Forsyth, Nipsey Russell, Meg Bennett, Scoey Mitchell, Brett, and Trish Stewart got one each.)
    Stats: Richard has matched 81 of his 190 most recent attempts (42.6%), 64 of his last 147 attempts (43.5%), 44 of his last 97 attempts (45.4%), and 20 of his last 50 attempts (40.0%). His overall success rate is *41.8%* and this is his 668th attempt so far.
    For the sake of comparison: Joyce has matched 3 of her 4 attempts (75%), Charles has matched 33 of his 68 attempts (48.5%), Brett has matched 29 of her 69 attempts (42.0%), Richard has matched 279 of his 667 attempts (41.8%). Greg and Roz haven't had a shot at a H/H question yet.
    *Today's H/H question: "Leaving________"*
    (Hmm. Leaving on a Jet Plane? Leaving town? Leaving home? I want to say the jet plane song, but Richard often doesn't get pop music references. I'm stumped. I'll say "on a Jet Plane" anyway.)
    Richard turns to Joyce and clearly seems to be reading something. The camera focuses on the contestant as Richard writes and files his answer, so no clues today as to its length.
    The champion tentatively answers "Home" and the audience offers a wild round of applause. Sounds like she picked their favorite answer at least...
    The contestant's judgment and the audience's instinct was right! Richard's losing streak is broken! "Home."
    Richard scores his 280th H/H match today.
    ~~~Here's our updated leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy:
    (Note: An asterisk before a celebrity's name signifies that she has "retired" from the show and her H/H stats are now complete.)
    (Note: For tied scores, I consider the one with the greater number of matches to be higher; if the matches are equal, the celeb who first achieved that score goes on top.)
    Orson Bean - 100% (4 wins in 4 attempts).
    TIE: (*)Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts).
    TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts).
    Gary Burghoff - 71.4% (5 wins in 7 attempts).
    Betty - 50.0% (19 wins in 38 attempts).
    Charles - 48.5% (33 wins in 68 attempts).
    Fannie - 48.3% (14 wins in 29 attempts).
    Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts).
    Brett - 42.0% (29 wins in 69 attempts).
    Richard - 41.9% (280 wins in 668 attempts).
    Bert Convy - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts).
    *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 1012, excluding the lost/missing/damaged episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325, 645, and 910. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!") -- Also, note that episode 849 was never produced. Additionally, these stats do, however, include the H/H results of missing episode 968 as those results were revealed in episode 969.

    Roz Kelly seemed to think a lot of herself. She's unrecognizable now, or actually at age 71. She's 76 now. i.pinimg.com/736x/1d/ed/5b/1ded5b28e6c75b054311c9f4b545a35c.jpg She got into a lot of trouble later ... Arrested for shooting up cars and a neighbors apartment after a car alarm went off in the early morning and woke her up. [November 1998]
    Jailed for an alleged probation violation (20 August 2000) Arrested in Los Angeles after her ex-boyfriend told police that she hit him on the back with a cane. [August 2000] I remember reading that she wasn't liked very much when she was on the show.
