This is the info that's needed. So many focus on just the super high end 25+ and world 100 mythic prog. What about all of us that just love doing a 20 key and prog mythic raid at a normal pace? :)
I been using this build on live and it’s so much fun. Both single and aoe. I pull around 90k overall after finishing a M+ at 430 ilvl. When you first showed ele shaman in 10.2 i instantly swapped from unholy dk to ele shaman lol
In S1 I have decided I will give SP a try for the first time and guess what, you did the same and helped us with buids. During S2 i decided that in S3 I will main Sham and guess what, you are here with the builds and explanations. The luck :D
Just started playing sham in S2 and after getting KSH I can say I still like the complexity of the current build, yes it feels weird with IF but I’ve enjoyed it nonetheless it being a somewhat difficult rotation/flow to to get down compared to the rest of DF specs. EB is also the coolest spell in the game imo. This new wildfire esque build looks like a lot of fun tho and I am also very much excited to play it. Keep up the coverage on shammy Zuco!
thanks Zuco. Hate the current ele for exact same reasons you noted in video. Used to love DRE build. Hope DRE will be revived. They really need to buff the lava surge procs. Wish they would do something to allow the primordial wave to allow a 5 or 10 second window of lava burst hitting all 5-6 of your flame shocked targets, instead of just once per primordial wave
Well, with the new Tier Set they are doing that. After you cast Prime Wave, your next 2 Lava Bursts also cleave 3 targets with Flame Shock on them. So you're going to get a TON of extra meatballs! And from testing this new build on the ptr a bunch, the Lava Surge procs were coming in super fast. It's gonna be awesome!
I'm maining Resto Shaman and Ele as an alt. I'm REALLY happy that Icefury is a no no (also frees up one talent since Frost Shock isn't baseline anymore - which is ridiculous btw).
I don’t engage much on social media and stuff about my class but ngl I’m surprised how many people hate ice fury like me and yet blizzard still keeps it around 🙄
My main is elemental since the start of DF and I really dont like icefury, it feels so weird, but you feel like you have to put it in to your rotation for the dps gain. I want smooth rotation like most classes have.

I get annoyed by ascendance canceling my casts, so ill prob go elemental blast/lightning rod/storm elemental/chain lightning cdr talents. Very excited to play ele next season
You can run single target, but swap storm ele for fire and ele blast for magma totem and it’s just as good, if not better than the aoe build. Earthquake is very frustrating in pugs imo
I agree the set is probably one of the most fun ones. However the damage in m+ is just bad. Depending on the dungeons, you will be literally doing tank damage in some pulls. Its just how the set is designed because you are totally hardcapped and while earthquake is uncapped (or capped at 20), its just very weak. Makes me sad, because I really wanted to play ele. But for ppl who do not care about such things, I 100% recommend it.
@MrCarlWax That's what I actually first thought too while testing because I could not believe it myself. Then I watched hours of streams from the best ele shamans, and they also stated the garbage damage, so yea. Too bad.
The tier set nerf definitely hit the m+ damage really hard, no longer doing the crazy sustain around 500k dps, but it isn’t terrible damage. And low target counts it will be really good. It definitely won’t be great in any groups doing super higher keys due to the not great damage on high target counts 6 or 7+. Long story short, it will be pretty good on anything
The damage in M+ isn't bad at all. It's actually fantastic. Yes the nerfs took a hit to the damage, but you can easily sustain 200k-500k spikes of damage on AOE packs depending on the number of enemies and procs on Ascendance. It's never going to have the HUGE burst window that a Fire Mage has,(or likely Frost Mage in 10.2)... But it will have consistent, pack-to-pack damage and by the end of the dungeon, your overall will be just as high.
i spent 3 min at aoe dummies and got 1 ascendance proc. Casting Lava burst all the time. Feels like total garbage because you do no dmg most of the time
That's not the experience I've had. I've had the build bug out on my several times in game when only hitting target dummies. You might have experienced that as well. But the bottom line is, I've tested this in over 20 dungeons on the PTR now and it procs very consistently. There are def still times when it goes off at the end of a pull, which is super annoying, but over the entire dungeon run, it procs, on average, when i need it to and the damage is strong.
it also feels bad when elemental blast doesnt crit for me i have 34% crit witch is like 5 k rating and it still doesnt crit as much as i though tit would i wish they would make elemental blast were every other it would crit
I'm a long time Ele enthusiast, BUT I don't want to be left behind in keys. I will be maining boomkin side rolling ele. Maybe swapping em out later. I hate ice fury /echo... I really wish they'd give ele someting unique to their spec so we could get a spot somewhere. It seems casters are lookin weak this patch. Maybe dungeon difficulty will be unfavorable to melee. That is kinda our only hope as casters.. If it sux we could always enh I guess.
The playstyle is fun, however the damage is subpar and you bring nothing. Bringing in Elemental Shaman over any other class is nerfing your group. For bringing nothing to a group, Elemental should be one of the highest damage dealers, and it was, then it got nerfed hard, and now its not. There is zero reason to bring an Ele Shaman for any content in the game. That sucks.
Ele has some group utility. It has the problem you identified in raid, but in m+ you have everything enhance does(wind fury won’t be used in m+) except for way less damage in aoe.
@@beastlyshotzful Technically you can do good damage in AOE, just not with the spec many people are trying to go with. However, it isn't top tier, either AOE or ST, and any of its group utility is better brought by Enh or ANY OTHER CLASS. They even added insult to injury and made Ele give the lowest amount of mana from Mana Spring, in a patch where healers were supposed to care about mana again. Blizzard has done everything possible to make sure that Ele is not wanted or useful for ANY CONTENT. To bring one, is to simply make your group worse. To play one, is to simply make what you as a player can bring, less valuable. They have blatantly told Ele players. "We'd rather you not play with spec." Any of you that try, we'll make sure you fail.
This is simply not true. The only thing you don't bring as Ele Shaman is a raid buff. The damage in M+ is phenomenal, even with the recent nerfs. The utility on Shaman is WAYY better then a lot of other classes. Poison Cleanse Totem can literally solo the Afflicted Affix week... Thunderstorm can knock enemies out of Sanguine, or knock them up as an AOE CC. You have double stun from Cap Totem. You can remove Charm and Fear, You can reduce phys damage taken with Stoneskin totem... You can take an AOE root totem, you've got a purge and a hex, and the best kick in the entire game. The utility is insane. Yes, Enhance has this as well, but the damage between Enhance vs Ele is way closer now then on live servers. It's going to be a banger of a season!
I want to start things off by saying this was a dope and informative video. However, as a PVP player, seeing warmode turned off and NO pvp talents even selected on a level capped toon is completely foreign and weird to me. LMAO. Good stuff tho. Ele tier set looks good for both pvp AND pve and I can't wait.

Icefury is the reason I havent played Ele in years. A lot of people like the "complex" rotation, I just think it takes away from the rotation.
If you raid it is still in the rotation, but having to use it m+ is definitely not as fun.

Zucco the new ptr build is under 10.1.7 for whatever reason but it’s 10.2. Keys are up and running

Totally agree with ice fury. As mainly a PvPer it is annoying to set up as well.
Definitely swap a point out of power of the maelstrom and put it in the 5% fire damage talent.

You need to have improved flametongue weapon as well because it adds 5% damage to all your fire spells.

I prefer the complexity of Season 2 ele. I am swapping away from ele in season 3 because I am not at all interested in the simplified play style.
