- Just a quick video on how to install Rise of the Reds Mod for Generals Zero Hour. This guide is meant for users that play Zero hour through Origin such as myself.

Dear sir , i cannot thank you enough for this, it worked for me , I had played this mod when i was a kid on my dads old computer and because of the age of the computer i couldn't really enjoy the game from all the lags. Now with a better Gaming pc i could relive my childhood again. Thank you so much, cheers !

Bigfoot_ Huntr no worries at all remember it’s only if you have the game installed via origin but the mod installation should be similar if you have it installed on disk

Reading previous comments of others with the issue of not being able to play ROTR with shockwave installed as well, friend and I had a thought... Since ROTR doesn’t have any super generals, can we save the ROTR file under the generals game folder instead of the zero hour folder, that way we can have both? Raptor, any chance you can attempt and make a video of it?

i need help, when i clicked launch it pops the Generals and Zero Hour Apps, I clicked Zero Hour but opens Zero Hour without the MOD
might need to try launching it from the rise of the reds app located in the second zero hour folder where the mod should be installed into :)
What do I open after I go to the second folder?

Hey guys! This is my first time using a MOD for this game and I'm really excited! I just downloaded the game following the instructions from the README and watched this video. It look liked it went through. Sadly, when I click on ROTF icon it loads up EA app and then the normal game.
I followed ***Installing on Origin*** since that's how I bought it. I did not see anything about Origin in any of my files, but I did find the second file and that's where I put it.
Any clue to where I went wrong? Thanks in advance!

You need zero hour to play the mods my friend it does not work with the base command and conquer generals

Has to be installed on your C drive, otherwise Origin will be a little prick and it won't work.
I got error "Fix please insert the first game CD" I don't know how to fix it.

I know this was 5 years ago, but I can't get it to work. First I get a - "Access to the path is denied" When I cancel, I still get the -
"Do you want this application to make changes" So I continue with yes and get to Origin who asks me to give my permission to open the game ( I always need to do that when playing Generals) Then it just goes to the normal Generals Zero Hour game. Am doing something wrong here?

I've got a pirated version of Zero hour. But I keep getting the message saying "file path denied". Is there any way getting around this? ROTR file and launcher is in the same folder as the Zero Hour folder (Zero Hour does work as I've played it)
Not fully sure as I don’t know if a pirated copy would work the same as a standard copy to be honest 🤔
I got a pirated version aswell but it somehow worked with no problems it suprised me.

You would need to make a copy of your main zero hour directory / so the place where you
Copy and paste mods into. Just delete
The directory then copy and paste your mods in when you please
I installed it but everytime I beat the AI the “You are Victorious” doesn’t show somehow. Even the enemy is reduces to atoms. Is it a bug?
Might be certain maps where the ai does not work possibly

*** If your game launches the original zero hour, you need to reset your origin so it installs games into program files. It it’s anywhere else the mod will not work.
-Program Files x86 doesn't work either eh?-
Update, so I was wrong there, but for those who have multiple drives or different partitioned drives, the game needs to be installed within the C: drive.

thejonathan130 that’s strange. I’ve also learned that with mine, after having everything in program files x86 I have to be connected to WiFi, open origin and leave it running, then start Rotr mod. Mine will not launch without internet. Not sure if this helps at all. I’m not good with modding so I’m surprised I got mine to work myself 🤷🏼♂️
Meh, I save my games on an entirely different drive, that's such a shame. :(

Don’t know what you mean by can’t download any mods but yet you have rise of the reds and shockwave ? 🤔 make sure only the one mod is installed and you need to install the rise of the reds mods in order to get them working

You need zero hour mate to play either mod / and you can’t play them at the same time - just make a copy of your main zero hour directory where the mod will be installed / swap them out when you want to play each mod :)

I downloaded 7-zip, and when I went to extract the file I was not given the ability to extract like you had. All I had was the option of "Open" The game loaded, but when I went to launch it, it was my old zero hours game, but the logo that was on the windows page was the rise of the red.

when i open the launcher and click launch it just opens up the old generals and zero hour prompt. I tried clicking it anyway and there was no difference.

you would need to uninstall shockwave first and make sure rise of the reds is installed in a clean directory of zero hour with no mods or missing files

nope would need to uninstall Shockwave as they are seperate mods

I found out how to do it. Download GenLauncher and itll download the mod for you.

No idea but you could try running it in administrator mode or compatibility mode

If you have a another mod on you need to Uninstall C&C and reinstall it then repeat what the sarcastic raptor said.

Do you actually go click into Zero hour and it runs zero hour? When I run the ROTR desktop icon, it’ll open up ROTR, but then click on launch, it opens Generals and zero hour, but if you click on zero hour, ROTR should run.
