      Honestly I think the Eluktronics Max-15 or even Max-17 are so thin (yet Max-P GPU capable) that should be put into this type of comparison as well.

    Great comparison. You're right, these are very niche products for a very specific audience. The compromises made to achieve such light weights aren't worth it to me, but I'm obviously not the target buyer.

      FINALLY!!! a person with a functioning brain!!! like anytime i mention a thin and light laptop, the idiots in reddit say along the lines of "thin and ligh stoopid -10 fps trash awooga", I'm so happy someone realises they are not the target audience

      @PC_Modder yeah man msi is damn shit, although the newer gs series are okay, but my guy 5mm do make a difference because it's all around+ it isn't about the size it's the weight! night and day difference Lemme tell you
      although i do agree with the cooling part, the fans on my zephyrus don't ramp up at all

    • @Shogun534
      @Shogun534 2 года назад +5

      @PC_Modder what you're talking about aren't thin and light laptops, they are called notebooks/ ultrabooks
      if you want a good example i'd give me laptop forward, it's the zephyrus g15 3070ti model, it can run 5-6( non gaming) without a problem after 5 months of use
      and it haz never seen temps over 80.
      and when I'm gaming (without ray tracing) i easily reach 60-70 fps minimum on AAA max settings with dlss quality . but what you've wrote isn't wrong on any note, it's just that we're talking about different laptops. that was beautifully written para

    • @Shogun534
      @Shogun534 2 года назад +1

      @PC_Modder I'm a prime example for the last 5 years I've been using thin and light laptops (Razer blade 15 for 3 years
      1.5 for gs stealth and 6months for zephyrus g15) I travel a lot, and whenever I'm travelling i liked spending the extra time b/w destinies playing games. now sadly i do not want a hunk of a laptop like legion 5 pro or strix scar on my lap, neither do I want 200 fps in titles, so it's much comfortable having a thin and light laptops FOR ME. for someone who needs more performance I'd say thin and lights are trash, but in your para you're saying thin and light laptops get stuck with no performance i disagree check out some reviews they work beautifully!

    You forgot to mention the biggest turn-off with the Razer Blades, which is a common battery bloating issue, which pretty much could compromise all the internal parts of your machine and render it useless.
    This might be due to the poor quality batteries Razer has been using for quite some time now and they don't seem to be willing to change it anytime soon.
    Additionally, the Razer Blades seem to be overheating a lot and in turn it severely reduces their lifespan and gives rise to issues.
    I cannot comment on the MSI GS66, as I'm currently using the 2019 version of GS65 with 1070 GTX and 16GB RAM, which has never had any issue of any sort when exploiting it to the fullest. If GS66 is with the build quality of my current laptop, I would honestly recommend it over the Razer Blade.
    Sorry for the long comment.

    Fan acoustics and behavior are what ultimately pushed me toward Razer. I have the 2022 Blade 14 right now. It stays silent during light usage, and when the fans do spin up, I can barely hear them. Under load, it's still comparatively quiet, and it doesn't suffer from high-pitched whine like on many other gaming laptops I've used.

    There's very little options for Ram kits for DDR5 atm, unless you pay for a top end laptop with XMP. That said, there's Thaiphoon burner which allows you with some laptops to rewrite to SPD of the ram, so you could basically tighten the timings a little and get more performance. I know typically you do laptop comparisons, but heck, this would be some great info and also a pretty sweet comparison to see if you can get more performance from your stock kits, or stuff like the Fury Impact kits.

      @AlexGomberg 2 года назад +1

      3070 is completely okay. As for me and most of experienced pc users it's the sweet spot of power, productivity and investment-wise.
      People who take the top tier gpu are either professionals who need the best of the best, or people who want to have some extra power or more future-proof device.
      And for 600 USD you can buy some extra ssd (2 tb samsung ssd is $200) and can get some better RAM if you want.
      But if you see some good discount on top tier machine and you save $400-500 taking the top tier-model I think is pretty much reasonable buying it.
      Everything is up to you :)

    problem with thin and light is the power limits due to thermos, even with a 3080ti the TGP will be limited and we know power = performance if you want to get a gaming laptop to replace the desktop i would suggest get bigger laptops at least you know youll have the power you need to game

      Yea open up dragon center and u can change it from balanced or whatever it’s set on and put it on silent. U won’t even hear the fans I only use that setting for casual use it will heat up if u leave it on during heavy gaming.

      For better battery life: Ryzen + Radeon.

But I am always open to new and considered Razor, With battery bloating thing I would prefer still MSI that I know or will still have a look on something else.
