@@chasenielsen7834 I don't see it. They have a lot of stuff in there even non luxurious versions will cost a good bit. The metal alone for frame, sheeting, and the amount of welding most people charge an arm and a leg if you don't have the proper welder and skills.

I’m a truck driver. I’ve actually seen quite a few of these style of trailers on the highway. I make decent enough money. I may get one some day.

In saying that if you convert the American money into Australian and take a look at a Lotus Off Grid or Kedron Compact here, it's not much more and you get;
Galvanised off road strengthened chassis and suspension for the toughest conditions.
Shower, toilet, sink, oven, microwave, tv, stereo, washing machine, dinette, island bed, led lighting external lights, an external bbq, toolbox, diesel heater as well as reverse cycle air conditioning, lithium batteries, roof solar, security doors and screens, electric trailer brakes, fans, pretty much a mini penthouse apartment etc.
That said if you will we can be on the same page about it, this camper is pricey

That's what i did 4 years ago....26ft toy hauler....2014 S1000RR in the back...and the camper payment was only 158.00 a month.
Anyone who pays 18k for that is insane. The materials cost at best is like 3k lol.

adam forbes you can even buy a small tt with a jeep, I did for two years and it was great.
I see the purpose of these trailers but there isn't anywhere in the north east that these are required ... I don't know many places that you can go deep enough into the wild to need one within 12 hours ... even at most off-road parks you have to exit the park by dark

I just street viewed the streets in the Los Angeles area I parked and lived on, they outsmarted us campers, its now no vehicles over 7ft tall or 22ft long. So it'd work for that. The whole street of campers down there all knew eachother, one guy had lived there in an Isuzu mini truck in the same spot for 7 years.
I just wanted the weather to ride, 6 days a week, 12 hour days paid to ride motorcycle. And only 158.00 a month, another girl in my high school class paid 1,600 a month just for an efficiency 1 block north of the Venice Beach sign.
Absolute ripoff + terrible sales skill = bad times ahead for this company.
Really, these small form back country trailers are a great concept! But you can’t charge this kind of money for a rolling tent. A 4Runner with a roof top tent can have these accommodations and amenities with a little thought....and you can drive it to work on Monday.

Lol, that was my thought when I read that response. No real overlander is running a Rav4. 4Runners, on the other hand, are highly sought after off-road/overlanding vehicle build platforms. I’d assume they don’t know what they’re talking about, confusing a 4Runner & a Rav4, two very different vehicles.

The Pika starts at around 12k ($11,700). I think I am the first comment to actually give the price of the trailer that this video is actually about after so many have completely exaggerated the price. Yes at 12k it is not cheap but I don't know if that is expensive for what you are getting. People love these trailers (do yourself a favor and read some actual reviews), so much ignorant b.s in these comments.

I think you answered my question. I haven't even bought my first trailer, I have my new truck. The overland, overland, overland, every page I see it. The prices I have seen are beyond ridiculous. Enough so that I might buy the old "scamp" down the road. It actually has a place where I can drop my morning glory. Whatever I buy, I don't GAF about a shower, but I am not going to shit in a bucket. A 25K truck bed "stealth" had a bucket. I don'r ask for much.
If he actually sells any of these trailers, he should immediately invest in a marketing rep and let that person make all future public statements. He is a classic example of an owner/designer/inventor that has absolutely no charisma or public speaking ability to get potential consumers excited about the product or his company!!!

I like the little trailers & these look the most thought out I have seen.
Also, you weren't talking price but the prices I could see were also the lowest I have seen on UTube.
For less than $20,000 I can find a nice used crossover with lots of storage (like a RAV4 or Honda HRV), an air mattress that fits in the back seat ($50), a $40 Coleman double stove, and a $50 cooler.
That leaves me $6,000 for gas and food to drive around the country.
Brush for 14k you can get you a 2014 -2018 30 ft travel trailer. If you stuck for size you can literally buy you a used van and still be better off
So 26k for a mattress on wheels wich will undeniably mold from the bottom if you got out using it often on rainy/low temperature days.

My neighbor just picked up a beautiful trailer for 8 grand, big screen tv, the living room area has a slide that makes it close to 150 sq feet, big bedroom and kitchen.

I love the wood work and the leather pull handles. Timeless style right there. The skylight is amazing but Im torn...do I want that or a roof cargo basket for more gear? Pricey yes....but its basically a work of art. No different than expensive shoes, handbags, watches etc etc. If someone wants to buy one who am I to judge. Its American made!!!

As a fabricator,i replicated the full size using the all the same material and design to see how much itll cost. In total was $6,787.32. But that includes solar panels
Yes now add the value of your time to build it at $65/hr. I'm guessing 3 weeks at 40hrs/week = $7800 in labor. Add that to your material cost and you're getting close to what this guy is charging.

If that's really true then you're fast. I would like to see a pic of the finished product. Having said that if you were to sell it then you still need to account for your labor = $3120 (@$65/hr). So you're selling price would be minimum $9907.32. It's still higher than what most people would pay for something like that according to this comment section. Keep in mind you still didn't make a profit when selling it at $9907.32. All you did was cover your labor cost. That is not profit. That's just salary. See where I'm going with this?...
The company building these things have significantly more overhead so they have to sell it at a higher cost. $18K may sound like a lot but it really isn't when you consider everything.

This is an AWESOME camping accessory. Lightweight, nimble, and very very simple. I see the appeal for this. Hell, I would buy one to live in if it weren’t for my wife and daughter lol.
