I retired from a large metal products manufacturing company after 45 years and I can tell you that I am really impressed with the quality of design and construction of this Valiant trailer.
Thanks for your feedback. Since this video Jordan has continued to build upon that design as well. Really neat to watch his small business grow and succeed.
Please don't let our awful music track distract from the great things Jordan is doing at Valiant Trailers. When we made this video we had selected an ambient track for the transitions with no beat and no guitar. Unfortunately during the edit we forgot to change the placeholder music. Lesson learned, ALWAYS proof the video before uploading to RUclips because once it is up you can never go back. Again, Jordan and Valiant had no part in this edit, just a mistake by yours truly "Playing with Sticks."
Love the bare bones option for people who already have some of the equipment and can easily retrofit it. Bravo on the large rear door acting as a roof for cooking. That moved you to the top of my list.
Glad you are enjoying it Jim. We like to go back and watch our Valiant videos as well, just to get pumped up for the camping season ahead. We just got in contact with Jordan last week and he said he should have a rental model ready for us to take out the beginning of the summer. Can't wait to make one of our regular travel videos with one of these overland trailers!

We really appreciate you all had posted this video! Right after we saw it, I emailed Jordan and now will have my honey talk to him tomorrow! Looking forward to picking it up next year during our trip back to AK from CO! OH YEAH!!!
That is so cool! We love hearing stuff like this. That trip sounds amazing by the way. Also sounds like AK is home to you, well at least it was at one time huh? Colorado sounds pretty nice as well! You guys are really going to enjoy going through the build process with Jordan. He is passionate about his trailers and loves making them individualized for everyone's specific needs. We were really excited to get the chance to see Jordan's shop and his trailer building in action. Again, glad this video was helpful. Hopefully we bump into each other on the road when you have your Valiant Trailer in tow.
After talking to Jordan about our plans, we are more excited that we both are dreaming about this trip and camper! My husband has family there and for our 30th anniversary a couple of years ago I surprised him with a two weeks trip. Well, I’ve fallen in love with AK and seriously considering of moving up there. AK spoke to my soul! No kidding. As time move forward with the plans, we will let you know what’s happening! 😊
Pretty neat what they are doing at Valiant. Glad you were able to see his build. We are going to have to get out there soon and see if they are up to anything new.
@@PlayingwithSticks That would be nice. I was just thinking I'd wrap mosquito netting around the back and possibly D-rings on top for hammock tie downs.
@@DHFlip18 That would be a great addition. Would love to see Jordan offer some sort of netted screen room attachment in the future. Something like the ARB shelters out there.
These are awesome trailers if you are young and flexible. As an old man I can't flex into and out of these trailers. Everything else is very cool about them as long as you are outside. Young people, take advantage of your youth and explore and go on as many adventures as you can afford. It doesn't last forever. 🤠
Isn't that a great idea. Since making this video with Valiant we have come across a lot of trailers up here from different manufacturers that did the same thing. Love the idea!
Hello from Down Under, this is a very thoughtful design, we really like that suspension type and the lift open back panel ask now for an extra annex to zipping it on to have some privacy while having a shower and it could even be good having while doing the cooking to keep the nosy insects out of the pots. Well done mate!
Nice, when you were talking about how light and easy it was to move, my thought was, weight doesn't matter, balance over the wheels matters. Shortly there after 5:30 you explain the balance. Really nice design.
It was fun looking at Jordan's design in CAD and hearing his process for going about finding the center of gravity. Neat what you can do when you use a little physics.
There doesn't seem to be enough tongue weight. He lifts it up with one arm. Limited storage up front, so add a loaded fridge and kitchen pantry to the rear, and it could be even lighter.
Just keep in mind that the center of mass changes, depending on what you stick in the thing. Most people will end up loading theirs with a bunch of cargo for the travel part. I think I'd keep it mostly empty, because part of the appeal is being able to just pull over and grab some z's without any fuss or muss.
I really like the back door opening up and acting as an awning. A few teardrops are made to provide a little bit of cover when the back hatch is opened, but this one does it perfectly.
We completely agree. We haven't talked about it in any videos yet, but our galley door is probably the feature of our teardrop that drives us the most crazy. It is way too heavy, so small it doesn't protect us from the elements, and so high it makes putting a tent over it difficult. We often say we are going to put gas springs on ours, which would be really nice. But, we still haven't got around to it. If we were to build a teardrop or purchase one we would definitely create a pass through in the galley from interior to the exterior. There are so many times May and I wish we could just pass items to each other from the back to the inside. We use our galley more for storage than food prep. It would be so great to just quickly move those items from the galley to the bed when we hit camp. Back to your comment Mike. In person that back door is really large. Our family could definitely huddle together under it at night with chairs and be completely protected from the elements.
This isn't strictly speaking a "teardrop." The ORIGINAL idea was a very small, light, aerodynamic camper trailer that could be towed by a passenger car. The shape was part of what made it (more) towable by vehicles not strictly built as tow vehicles. Installing an outdoor galley in the rear made great use of that rounded back. The square back, with either top hinges or bottom hinges (for a RAMP!), is standard cargo-trailer stuff. You might be surprised at all the cargo-trailer companies who'll custom-build a toy hauler for you to your specifications. These also make excellent toy haulers. Roll out your snowmobile, dirt bike(s), 4-wheeler and that space becomes your sleep area. A lot of people are turning small (and large!) cargo haulers into DIY campers and toy haulers. There's a huge market of 4x4 owners, who don't need something tiny (and un-insulated) like the standard teardrops (Vistabule, etc.), and want something that can go anywhere they can take their 4x4s, and, as so much of the market is from the high country, you're seeing more and more companies like the one featured in the videos, who insulate them for winter camping. Small as they are, and insulated as they are, you could probably just crack the roof vent, hang a lantern, and be plenty warm in one in the middle of winter. The "teardrop" basic idea of small, very basic, very effective camping trailer that's CHEAP has expanded hugely in the last decade or so. They're more affordable and more rugged than the standard camper trailers, and with the Timbren suspension, very rough-and-tumble, which is what a lot of hunters and trekkers want.
Nice looking Tea Drop Trailer. It is designed for young folks not older people like me. I don't think my knee could take the climbing in and out through that small door. But I do have a tea drop "R-Pod" trail that works for the wife and I. If I was younger, I would grab one of these with out hesitation. Good looking trailer, two thumbs up.
@@PlayingwithSticks wow didn't realize my really bad grammar and spelling, glad you understood lol. It you are making some great trailers. What's the availability to Canada?
Very impressive! I've been wanting to get into boondocking and have been researching different units. This one really looks to be the most well built, biggest bang for the buck unit out there.
We were highly impressed as well Will. When we first reached out to them, we were just excited to see a small trailer manufacturer here in Alaska. Then after getting to know them we were really surprised to find out that not only do they make some of the best trailers around, they are much cheaper then any trailer we have found in that quality range. They are starting to get a lot of interest from the lower 48, which is really exciting to hear. After doing this walkthrough and taking one out on a -20 degree day, we see why! As for the boondocking, once you start you will never go back! We truly love it. I would say 90% of our adventures are boondocking, I think 90% of our videos on here are boondocking as well.
@@tomking5358 Understandable. I have my fingers cross that Jordan and his Valiant trailers make their way down to the Lower 48 sooner than later. Colorado would be an amazing state to zip around in an offroad Valiant trailer!
Good gosh it's like an r-Pod on steroids. I live in Alaska and haven't liked the looks or quality of any RVs or trailers but THIS IS WHAT I'VE been talking about! Trailer hitch in the back for bikes? Rack on top could be used for skis and snowboards? This is so sweet!
Glad you liked it Ashana. Also, always great to hear from another Alaskan! I have a feeling you and I will be seeing a lot of these Valiant trailers roaming around here in the next few years. Jordan is selling them quicker than he can get them built at the moment. Sounds like his team will be growing soon.
VERY IMPRESSIVE design and craftsmanship - appears to be built to last given the use of cold-rolled steel and application of powder coating to the trailer and the cab. I especially like the amount of headroom and the fact that most folks (under 6'4") will be able to comfortably sit up inside.
With a reasonable price like that I sure do hope you expand into the lower 48. Love to see an Alaskan company find success. Represent the 907! I was born there and lived there til my parents moved us away. Joined the military and have only ever been back to visit. I don't see myself living there ever again :(
This is cool. We ordered a Hiker Trailer I think we’ll be very happy with (we’re getting the built in awning and such, no sink, no heater) but I’m keeping my eye on this company. I like what they’re doling. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Oh man, would we love a trailer like this! We can't wait to take out one of Jordan's rentals and find our own camping spot in pristine Alaska wilderness! What do you guys think? Pretty interesting how these offroad teardrops are quickly changing the teardrop scene. There are a lot of great features on these teardrops that would carry over to a more traditional teardrop as well.
:) Where's the Fridge ? its got the full size kitchen! .... lol. Just kidding... looks like an awesome build, great work and your passion for Off Road Camper.
It is a good time to own an offroad trailer. When you get those finances in order don't hesitate. All across the nation right now trailer manufacturers are pretty backed up. The build times for many are almost a year out now. Not sure what Jordan's build time is right now out at Valiant, but I know his production has really been picking up speed lately. Hope you get the chance to get one soon Jeremiah. They are so much fun!
Hey Valiant and Plays with sticks! You’ve got another sub! I’m a nurse and my kids are older. This is my dream. I love to camp year round and this trailer is everything I’ve been looking for. Found this video last week and started a special savings for it. It’s been a tough year and to be able to just load up the kids and go.... it’s the dream! Plus when kids are away, I would feel more secure boondocking in a solid teardrop vs my bivvy! 🥰 Thank you for creating such a cool trailer! Keep posting fun videos!
How cool Anna! My mother was a nurse for most of her medical career. I remember all the night school and hard work she put in. It isn't easy! You will see Valiant's XTD trailer in our next two videos coming out.
We couldn't agree more. We are now starting to see these out on the road this summer, which has been really neat to see. Just this week we ran into two different builds Jordan had made. Each one looked much different than the other based on the customers needs.
Trailer needs a fire extinguisher mounted in the kitchen galley or inside the cabin area. It's easy for the customer to add, but if I was the manufacturer I'd throw one in. It's an awesome little trailer. I'm trading some stuff for a 5x8 utility trailer. It gives me lots of ideas on the build.
Yes Led Zep , would do nice ! I love this trailer . I am a 57 yr old Oregonian kayaker and camper. Where can I get one of these in Oregon? And could I change out like the heater for something else I like it cold when I'm camping? Thank you great video except for the music LOL
They just built a facility right near you in Idaho. And yes I believe their builds are still custom so you can swap things out. And so sorry for that music!
Nice one. I noticed just two things that catch my eye: flimsy gas line on outer wall, it can be done more elegant, and hatch light wire looks not pretty, it could be done within the hatch wall.
We love hearing comments like this. We had a few comments similar to yours on Jordan's first overland trailer builds. He was able to take those comments and make the needed improvements to produce the amazing trailers he sells today. We will definitely pass this suggestion on to Jordan, which knowing Jordan he will definitely take this into consideration. Thanks again, we love it when other small camper enthusiasts like you share your knowledge and expertise on here.
Agreed, I’d like to see the bottle up in front with a hidden gas line. Looks like water could run into the wall. I’d also like to see the water heater hidden, maybe below where it is now.
That is tough. I bet if you study forums you could find some pretty great places in SE Asia that have some wild camping. Hop on a budget airline like Air Asia and I bet you can get to some pretty neat destinations.
That is what impressed us as well. The trailer looks great in the video, but once you see it in real life the height is really impressive. It still has that small overland trailer feel, but the height gives it more of an edgy appearance in person.
@@ChukesOutdoorAdventures Sounds like a fun purchase. We have really been studying those rooftop tents. The hard shells, though more expensive, definitely seem the route to go.
We couldn't agree more. It is nice to see trailers coming out of the states that are built to last more than 7 years! Not saying all trailers are poorly built, but we sure have a lot of manufacturers in the states who rely on people upgrading every 7 years.
Glad you enjoyed it Henry! We were really excited to get a chance to check out their trailers. They really are doing something quite special in terms of quality and service.
Solar panel would be nice addition. The propane tank that rest on the wheel just look a bit awkward to me. Just the feeling. Thought could be better. Shower outside without privacy and in cold weather, not me. The suspension design is great. Provide lots of clearance and clean simplicity look.
Love the idea of a teardrop style trailer with clearance. Looks like lots of nice add ons. Wonder if you could mount a screen tent onto the underside of the back overhang? With propane heater - venting - monitoring? Winterizing waterworks in the back?
Yes, we drool over Jordan's trailers. We get the chance to take one out here in March. Jordan was nice enough to let us borrow one for a 3 generation camping trip (My dad, me, and my oldest son).
@7:13 you talk about 2x 90 amp hour deep cycle RC batteries. What is the pro/con compared to running 2x equal or similar 100 amp hour lithium batteries especially with the weight being lighter in lithium’s?
As this was shot quite a while ago a lot has changed since then. AGM is still more affordable and performs better in extreme cold weather. However, since this video was made lithium has greatly went down in price with all the competition, and many of the good brands now have built in heating. So basically AGM is only a battery we recommend for price and cold weather performance. Other than that lithium beats it on every other front.
$10k for base model, plus $2k for back galley. That’s an amazing price for the quality of this build. Put a big roof tent on top for $3k total and now you can easily sleep family of 5 (cuz that’s all I care about).
You sound like us. We are also trying to upgrade to a teardrop that can support a rooftop tent. These trailers of Jordan's have been flying off the production room floor. And it is easy to see why. We are a little bummed though because we had planned to take out one of his trailers this summer for a video, but he just can't seem to get one ahead in production.
You are going to have so much fun in that beautiful state of yours. Out of curiosity what trailer will you be purchasing? We love to know what other trailers are out there.
Yes, they can add a larger door for easier access. As for the interior they can make it any way you like it. Pretty neat being able to work for a company who can basically customize every inch of your trailer.
One optioned like this is about 40k, which seems insane when you can literally see some of the interior is built with low-grade plywood. Wild world we live in now
I’m not a teardrop guy, but I like that trailer. Wish the industry would make the move to single-burner cooktops. Less cost, more counter space, and more practical, period. People rarely use two, let alone 3 burners. (I personally went liquid fuel Trangia years ago so I’d opt for a delete.) Plus, that galley layout is begging for a small upright 12v fridge. Also, for those of us east of Denver, air-conditioning is a must have. Would’ve liked to see their solution for that.
Funny, you had us wondering the same thing. Just went back and looked at the video. It is a less common water tank as it is black. Very incognito of them. It is right there underneath the sink.
The suspension and the hitch open up a whole new world of opportunity! I can tell you enjoy that obviously with your RUclips Channel name. We love the KLRs as well. Before having children we used to do short tours throughout SE Asia. They are some of our fondest memories. Now, just waiting for the kids to get a little older so we can start touring around our home state. As for AC it would definitely be feasible with Jordan. Because Valiant is a smaller operation, every order is custom made. Basically if the client can dream it, they can build it. I will shoot him an email to see if he has ever priced an AC for his trailers. If he hasn't yet, I guarantee someone else will be asking about it soon. Thanks for the great question Dan. Hope to get back to you sooner than later.
Hey again Dan. I reached out to Valiant. They said they can definitely add an ac. They said typically they would swap out the roof vent with one that had ac. I think that is around $400. But, like I mentioned before if the roof isn't an ideal placement they can install it literally almost anywhere beings all orders are custom.
It's a great simple hitch. And it is lighter than the other articulating hitches on the market. Here is the link overlandtrailer.com/product/lock-n-roll-coupler/ It will sound expensive compared to others you may see online, but that is because typically they only sell the receiver or the hitch. This link is to both combined.
Thanks for highlighting this company. Looks like they do great work! I will definitely be checking out their website. Also appreciate the really thorough video walkthrough. My only feedback about the video relates to the use of music. I would recommend either no music at all or to have music the entire time but use a low volume during narration. The sudden stop/start of the music for only 3 seconds of use is more distracting. Besides - it sounds like you are using awesome music! I want to hear more of it!
Glad you enjoyed it Ben. The music was actually a mistake. The original music had no beats or instruments, basically called drone music. We accidentally put in the wrong track and this we will never do again, we skipped the final viewing of the video before posting. We usually take great pride in our video editing, but this one is more of an embarassment, especially beings we made it to highlight someone else's great work.
@@PlayingwithSticks Gotcha. After watching some of your other vids (this was the first one I watched), I can def say the quality certainly shows up in all of your work. This situation simply means you're human. Thanks for sharing great content with us!
We were thinking the same thing here. We would love to take out Jordan's trailers all over the state of Alaska and put it to the test. We will have to reach out to him and see if he needs some Australian and Alaskan RD testers.
I like the taller design of this camper. I've interviewed dozens of companies and that is something most dont do. Tall ceilings. I know of only 2 other companies that make an off road tear drop that you can sit like a bench inside. Now if you had a micro bunkhouse model....thatvwould be an industry 1st! Us guys with 3 small kids are limited if not forgotten. All these off road campers are built for couples and not families. I get why....it just sucks lol. Will you be at the overland expo?
Good to see you on here! It was the tall design that really impressed us as well. Before heading out to see the trailer the photos Jordan sent us looked just like a regular size offroad teardrop. But once I saw it in person, I thought to myself everyone is going to want one of these when these see it being towed down the highway. Love all your walkthroughs and interviews by the way, we haven't missed any (even your tactical videos are fun and we aren't even really into that scene). Do you happen to remember the names of those 2 companies that make the higher offroad teardrops? We like to have an idea of comparable teardrops when talking with folks in the comment section of our videos. My wife and I have been talking about the micro bunkhouse for a couple of years. Our family isn't ready and probably will never be ready to move into a full blown travel trailer. We still want our teardrop, which now puts us into the teardrop and rooftop tent category. But, man it would be fun to cram us all into the interior. We aren't one's to shy away from a cozy den with our little ones. We are predicting that as families continue to get into smaller and smaller trailers here in the States that some smaller models with bunks will start popping up. But, maybe that is just us being hopeful. As for the overland expo question are you talking Valiant and their trailers or us with Playing with Sticks?
@@PlayingwithSticks Last summer Wee Roll in Florida sent me images of their high roof off road tear drop. Im sure its done by now. Rustic trail makes a high roof tear drop you can stand in. Not really off road but super tiny. I think they make an off road model that basically their trailer with knobby tires lol. Still has round fenders. Colorado Tear Drops makes the Mount Massive trailer that has bunks inside and allows for true up right table seating with a cavity in the floor for your feet. Monterba also has an off road teard rop similar to Colorado Teardrops. Tall roof with a table you can setup and seat 4 inside. Of course there is the Geopro G12RK that you can stand up inside. Kitchen in the back hatch like a tear drop. NuCamp320 is a stand up teardrop and they make an off road model. Or used to anyway. As for Overland Expo...I don't even know if its going to be cancelled or not with all this coronavirus hysteria? Its an
very cool - do you make one with an AC and power line for parks with power (or generators)? In Texas the heat (not the cold) is the issue. Maybe solar mods as well/or instead... either way, I'm betting Covid is keeping you busy - campers are flying off lots.
They have made mutliple trailers now with AC. And I believe all come with the ability to plug into shore power. And yes, just heard Jordan had to hire another guy just to help him with the trailer builds as the demands are outpacing what he can put out. Great problem to have!
How long is the wait if ordering this trailer. And can you add a small window ac. Unit inside. I figure if it keeps the cold out it should keep the hot desert out in Yuma Arizona
Do you have a screen attachment that can attach to the hatch when it’s open? That would be awesome to keep bugs away while cooking and, if roomy enough, eating. All in all, an awesome trailer.
Why is the ground clearance on Valiant trailers so high? The truck pulling it is much lower to the ground. I would think it would be difficult for shorter people to cook in the kitchen. Gorgeous trailer though.
I was just looking at their Armageddon package. That gave me a good laugh. I think it said jokingly, but intended to be a serious package offer as well.
You had my attention at Made in the U.S.A, yes it really matters. I've seen a couple of your videos and I'm impressed, how do I get a brochure? And I'd like to have a sticker fir the back window of my truck. Lol Thanks
I think most folks up here go with the basic tri-fold mattress so they can easily throw their Alaska toys in there. Climbing gear, kids bikes, inflatable kayaks, etc. We once had a better bed in our teardrop, but trying to move it to the side to store extra gear can get quite tough. Typically trailers leave Jordan's shop with fridges. The customer who had the trailer built in the video didn't add it. Not sure about the water tank capacity. But, again as all these trailers are custom it basically can be as big as you need it. Great questions Gregory.
We had the chance to chat with Jordan about this. He said It’s 300 lbs so technically it could handle it but he wouldn’t. He said he can always build beefed up hitch systems for that though.
Playing with Sticks okay. Look up black widow motorcycle trailer hitch. My bike is a Yamaha YZ450F. There are heavier bikes. Would be a great addition and more lucrative then.
Hopefully if he can get ahead of these build requests, he will have a model to rent out soon. I think he does have one of the smaller overland trailers available.
Thanks for the content. The suspension doesn't appear to be up to the task of off roading, noticed the trailer bouncing a fair bit whilst driving slowly.
Good eye. My guess is that the suspension is actually over built for the terrain. Valiant put some pretty heavy duty Timbren axles on their trailers. Most companies derate these axles because they’re typically too strong for the weight of these small campers. My guess is that when I shot this video Valiant was just getting started in the industry. At that point they probably didn’t realize these beefy axles need to have some give.
@@PlayingwithSticks I was wondering if the trailer may have been empty and the suspension “tuned” for maximum load capacity. In any case, that type of non-coil suspension isn’t what you need for a serious off road trailer.
Thanks for sharing. Out of curiosity what would you suggest? This is industry standard for off-road trailers. Well, industry standard here in the states. They use a bit more robust suspension in Australia and South Africa. So I would be really interested to see what you have in mind.
@@PlayingwithSticks I live in Australia. Over here the industry standard for off road trailers and caravans is single or dual shocks with springs or air bags. Hence my comment to you folk in the States. Thanks for your reply. Cheers
Good question Arthur. I didn't take a close look when I was out there. However, most of these trailers on the market have what they call "hurricane hinges" to keep out the water. You may want to do a quick Google search on it. I am assuming that is what they use at Valiant as well.
That is a good question. I always assumed these just exhaust off the side as they seem to not have exhaust pipes. Unfortunately this is not our trailer company so we don't have a good answer for you.
I retired from a large metal products manufacturing company after 45 years and I can tell you that I am really impressed with the quality of design and construction of this Valiant trailer.

Huh. Just sounds like your standard high-altitude guitar/mandolin bluegrass kind of stuff.
How about eliminating the music all together? Most of these you tube music tracks are bad.
Here's an idea: just don't annoy us with music. The sound quality already sucks. It's echo-y
Music is never an asset.
And here I was about to “complain”, if anything, have no sound for transitions.
I love the hitch and the out door kitchen. No having to un-pack :)
We completely agree.

I love this trailer 😊👌 the smart utilization of available space to keep it useful but still comfortable. Light weight is also a big plus.
Playing with Sticks, Yes, agreed - a pass through! Good one!
Appreciate the perspective Jay. The R-Pods are pretty neat aren't they. We really love the shape of them.
Beautiful trailer. I'm rethinking my camping-in-motels lifestyle.
Love it!
Nice job .thank you .i not a projected somebody else had started and now I'm going to try to finish it into a teardrop trailer for myself
That back kitchen is genius and looks great, idea, add to outer poles and some netting and it'll be a big free cooking zone
That is a great idea!
Interested...but Ak...maybe too far away..live in CO.
Sounds like his team will be growing soon.
love that you guys work so closely with each customer and stand behind your work!
The folks at Valiant set a pretty high bar.
@@PlayingwithSticks This is pretty much the norm in the industry.
It looks like you have a great design for people who might not want to spend $60,000 on an off-road trailer. Simple and functional. I like it!
We agree! We really appreciate their simple approach. Especially beings we are pretty frugal.
@@PlayingwithSticks approximately how much?
VERY IMPRESSIVE design and craftsmanship - appears to be built to last given the use of cold-rolled steel and application of powder coating to the trailer and the cab. I especially like the amount of headroom and the fact that most folks (under 6'4") will be able to comfortably sit up inside.
Most aerodynamic design I’ve ever seen
Haha. Yes, the overland industry has never really been about aero.
With a reasonable price like that I sure do hope you expand into the lower 48. Love to see an Alaskan company find success. Represent the 907!
I was born there and lived there til my parents moved us away. Joined the military and have only ever been back to visit. I don't see myself living there ever again :(
We are hoping they expand as well. Well, once an Alaskan always an Alaskan! Even if you don't make it back here.
Great trailer! Missing a refrigerator on this model. I know they can customize to accommodate one. Everybody wants a frig., right?
Definitely anyone that camps like this
Unless they have one already.
Yeah would prefer a fridge in place of the battery technology. Maybe there is a nook inside the trailer that can be used for that.
I loved your presentation.
Very interesting production.
Hi from France
Really nice tour of a well thought trailer! -Maria
Glad you enjoyed it Maria! It is always fun discovering new small campers. Getting to see Jordan in his expanding shop was a treat!
This is cool. We ordered a Hiker Trailer I think we’ll be very happy with (we’re getting the built in awning and such, no sink, no heater) but I’m keeping my eye on this company. I like what they’re doling. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
That EXTRA BIG DOOR is great too....what a good idea💙❣️💋♥️
Coming from a little 4X8 teardrop owner with a small door, we completely agree with you Delores!
How much does it weigh?
Good question Ted. The bass trailer comes in at around 1200 lbs and the one in the video is around 1,500 lbs
@@Sig721Tau 1200 lbs.
Any chance there is a video of just the base model without the extras?
11k+ wow...pricey
:) Where's the Fridge ? its got the full size kitchen! .... lol. Just kidding... looks like an awesome build, great work and your passion for Off Road Camper.
I was surprised as well that this customer didn't choose the fridge. Most trailers that leave Jordan's shop have a Dometic fridge.
Im ordering thru you guys once i get my finances in order! awesome trailers
I doubt interest rates will ever be lower than they are right now.
This looks nice. You guys really did your due diligence.
Glad you liked it. Jordan definitely puts a lot of love into his trailers!
Very well thought out trailer. Well done.
We couldn't agree more. We are now starting to see these out on the road this summer, which has been really neat to see. Just this week we ran into two different builds Jordan had made. Each one looked much different than the other based on the customers needs.
Looks great I think better routing for the gas line and some protection fro the propane tank it self. Some shield or re locate to front maybe.
Thanks Joseph for the suggestions. I will pass them on to Valiant!
Can you request the back doors open up, so there is prep space?
Trailer needs a fire extinguisher mounted in the kitchen galley or inside the cabin area. It's easy for the customer to add, but if I was the manufacturer I'd throw one in. It's an awesome little trailer. I'm trading some stuff for a 5x8 utility trailer. It gives me lots of ideas on the build.
Great suggestion Michael. I will let Valiant Trailers know.
Wow. This is like the Swiss Army Knife of the Drop trailer world. They look spectacular!
We thought that same thing. Makes our little 4X8 trailer feel pretty basic.
I want to go camping, too. I envy you. There are not many places to enjoy camping like that in Korea.
That is tough. I bet if you study forums you could find some pretty great places in SE Asia that have some wild camping. Hop on a budget airline like Air Asia and I bet you can get to some pretty neat destinations.
I like the headroom height.
That is what impressed us as well. The trailer looks great in the video, but once you see it in real life the height is really impressive. It still has that small overland trailer feel, but the height gives it more of an edgy appearance in person.
Me too
Great looking trailer. Wish it was in driving distance from NJ!
That is funny! That is what we usually say up here in Alaska. That is a great (insert product here) wish it was available in AK!
I do believe there are roads crossing all of North America, and they go both ways. 😂
@@PlayingwithSticks I may have learned that saying from my time living in Alaska. 😎
Really nice, you did a great job. Great little trailer. Great video 👍
Thank you. I will let Jordan know!
Absolutely beautiful very nicely done
Amazing trailer! Thanks for sharing!
We thought if you saw this one you would enjoy it. Just the fact that it is made in the good ol' AK! Thanks for checking it out.
Playing with Sticks absolutely! Love supporting Alaska businesses! I’m waiting on my ikamper to get here through Green Tree!
@@ChukesOutdoorAdventures Sounds like a fun purchase. We have really been studying those rooftop tents. The hard shells, though more expensive, definitely seem the route to go.
Great to see construction quality to this level!
We couldn't agree more. It is nice to see trailers coming out of the states that are built to last more than 7 years! Not saying all trailers are poorly built, but we sure have a lot of manufacturers in the states who rely on people upgrading every 7 years.
Bravo , Great Trailer - Great video. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it Henry! We were really excited to get a chance to check out their trailers. They really are doing something quite special in terms of quality and service.
Thanks guys for another very informative video!
You are most welcome Scott!
Solar panel would be nice addition. The propane tank that rest on the wheel just look a bit awkward to me. Just the feeling. Thought could be better. Shower outside without privacy and in cold weather, not me. The suspension design is great. Provide lots of clearance and clean simplicity look.
Yes on all comments. We talked with him about the propane. Would be interested to see his newer design now, that is if he found a good solution.
Love the idea of a teardrop style trailer with clearance. Looks like lots of nice add ons. Wonder if you could mount a screen tent onto the underside of the back overhang? With propane heater - venting - monitoring? Winterizing waterworks in the back?
We have said the same thing about the screen tent. I wonder if the folks at Valiant will add one soon.
I think I have found my new home on wheels!
Yes, we drool over Jordan's trailers. We get the chance to take one out here in March. Jordan was nice enough to let us borrow one for a 3 generation camping trip (My dad, me, and my oldest son).
You can thank RUclips for bringing me here. You can thank my bank for sending you money.
@@1DrBar Damn a little to much for me as I can get a 18 FT toy hauler for $22, going from memory and 2 years ago price. still great product
Awesome kick ass trailer , no shit . I wish I was in the market now to get one . If I ever do your getting a call . I love the model you demonstrated.
We are in the same boat. We currently have too many trailers, but man this one sure makes us want to reconsider :)
I love that one from the video. The guys is handsome as well.
Jordan will appreciate this comment. Thanks.
Awesome content!
Nice video and rig. Im in Colorado. Gonna buy similar this month. Wish I was closer
You are going to have so much fun in that beautiful state of yours. Out of curiosity what trailer will you be purchasing? We love to know what other trailers are out there.
Hiker trailer in Colorado?
Really nice love the kitchen.
Us too! We think they did a really great job on this design.
This trailer is very nice. I am wondering if the door can be bigger and the color of interior can be change or not?
Yes, they can add a larger door for easier access. As for the interior they can make it any way you like it. Pretty neat being able to work for a company who can basically customize every inch of your trailer.
@@PlayingwithSticks That is awesome that you can customize the interior. I would definitely check it out. Thank you so much for the respond.
Where is the water storage? Or did i miss it? Though nice trailer...
Funny, you had us wondering the same thing. Just went back and looked at the video. It is a less common water tank as it is black. Very incognito of them. It is right there underneath the sink.
Hopefully I can get one of these soon!!!! Beautiful Teardrop!!!!

Love the suspension and the articulating hitch. Easy question - for those of us in hot climates, is AC feasible?
@@PlayingwithSticks Thanks!
Hello 1 question same model with an air conditioner.
@7:53 is there a link accessible for the hitch you guy’s are using, would like to add one to my trailer build.
Hi from Oz. Very sweet unit if you ever need some R&D testing downunder your always welcome to throw one my way I’d be stoked! Good job
Its an
There are a few or several companies that make 'em bigger. Colorado Teardrops' "Summit" comes with bunk beds for the kids, standard, too.
Hey I love your campers, and being Canadian I’m happy that they’re North American made...but just an FYI, timbres axles are made in Ontario Canada
Good fact here Steve. We will let Valiant trailers know. Good old North American manufacturing.
Thanks for the good video
that's very impressive.
very cool - do you make one with an AC and power line for parks with power (or generators)?
Right! I don't think they do. But, that is a great idea.
Need a fridge and AC then it’ll be perfect. For sure a super nice rig
I like to find out more about your heater I need one for my old home made camper, in the mean time I am saving for one of these bad boys
I believe the heater Jordan uses in his trailers is similar to the Camco Olympian wave catalytic heaters. You may want to start there.
Why is the ground clearance on Valiant trailers so high? The truck pulling it is much lower to the ground. I would think it would be difficult for shorter people to cook in the kitchen. Gorgeous trailer though.
You are right on with your comment. It has become industry standard to build these off-road trailers higher than most people need.
I checked out the website and I love the Adventure Package, I'd live in that thing. Shame its not available in Australia.
Lol Thanks
Nice, sheers from Patagonia Chile-
Will a 2021 v6 4runner pull/tow this with no problem? I live in Washington state with mountains and mountains are where I camp primarily.
Folding couch, futon like, would be far superior, did I miss it,where is the frig? And what is the water tank capacity?
I think most folks up here go with the basic tri-fold mattress so they can easily throw their Alaska toys in there. Climbing gear, kids bikes, inflatable kayaks, etc. We once had a better bed in our teardrop, but trying to move it to the side to store extra gear can get quite tough. Typically trailers leave Jordan's shop with fridges. The customer who had the trailer built in the video didn't add it. Not sure about the water tank capacity. But, again as all these trailers are custom it basically can be as big as you need it. Great questions Gregory.
Nice video. I liked background music so much. Where can I find that music?
Haha. Love it! Yes, super sorry for that accident.
What’s the max payload of the Reese Hitch on the back. Would like to put my dirt bike back there (250lbs).
Great video! Great content. Loved learning about the valiant trailers. Excited to try one out when we get the chance.
Hopefully if he can get ahead of these build requests, he will have a model to rent out soon. I think he does have one of the smaller overland trailers available.
Is there any room for standing and changing inside when the bed is not folded up?
Oh, and you are absolutely right. The trailer in this video was 100% empty.
@@PlayingwithSticks I live in Australia. Over here the industry standard for off road trailers and caravans is single or dual shocks with springs or air bags. Hence my comment to you folk in the States. Thanks for your reply. Cheers
I like it! Awesome presentation.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Is there any best place or floor cabinet to have perhaps a cassette toilet?
With the up swinging door is the hinge area sealed in anyway or does the door just become a giant rain gutter to pour water down on the kitchen?
Good question Arthur. I didn't take a close look when I was out there. However, most of these trailers on the market have what they call "hurricane hinges" to keep out the water. You may want to do a quick Google search on it. I am assuming that is what they use at Valiant as well.
The shower function would be much more practical if the lift gate had a hook to hang the shower head and a rail to attach a shower curtain.
Good point. I like your design.
Where does the propane water heater exhaust to in the galley area or does it have to be brought outside to use?
That is a good question. I always assumed these just exhaust off the side as they seem to not have exhaust pipes. Unfortunately this is not our trailer company so we don't have a good answer for you.
