    I love the look of this! I’m from Australia, and what I’ve seen from the manufacturers here, is as was mentioned, most of the trailers available here are tent trailers.
    No doubt, companies like Patriot Campers are great, but what really appeals to me about this type of design is the teardrop style. Not having to setup the rooftop tent.
    My family and I have been swagging it for years, but my wife and I both have bad backs, and it’s just getting a bit too much of a hassle for us to roll out the awning on the side of the ute, and then set up the double swag - packing up is an even bigger pain in the arse.
    Don’t get me wrong, we do have teardrop trailers here, but they’re either ridiculously expensive, or just too basic for what we’d like. Something like this would be perfect for us.
    Great product, and loved the video.
    Cheers 👍

      blairy81 absolutely man, we’ve got some decent places in SW UK, but again they are either trailer tents or plain teardrop for fashionistas. Only Canadians can do this stuff well

    This has got to be my favorite example of an off-road trailer, and it looks like a great balance between size/weight and features. I am a little amused at the bulb seals and compression latches on the water heater door (see 5:13) seeing as there is a vent open to the exterior!!! Other than that, it looks awesome. I'm embarrassed to say I live in Edmonton (where these trailers are manufactured) and this is the first I've seen or heard of these guys.

I also debated the purchase for a year. I finally came to the decision to get a trailer that was capable of what I like to do I needed to get the Off Grid. I have no regrets. Can you find cheaper? Yes... Can you find more expensive yes. What works for me may not work for others. Keep researching but know that these are very well built trailers.

      @ckole10 4 года назад +2

      AZHOBBIEZ I don’t own a Jeep so I can really give a recommendation for or against towing and Off Grid with what you have. I would say that unless you are going to do seriously narrow trails the trailer width shouldn’t be an issue. Of the thousands upon thousands of miles I have done on dirt with various trailers there are very few spots I couldn’t take this trailer. Lockhart Basin in Moab might be one only because of one narrow section I believe. Any “overlanding” route you would be fine.

    And what type of hitch?

    • @Chriss-Gear
      @Chriss-Gear 5 лет назад

      I don't think a parking brake is possible with the Timbren setup but that is dependent on the hubs vs the actual suspension I believe. I am not sure who makes the hubs and if they could be swapped out. I believe Dexter offers some with manual brakes but I have not researched that in years. You can order the trailer with a standard ball hitch of Max Coupler.

    Expensive, but no doubt worth it. Its an amazing travel trailer. I do have a comeback to that propane argument, for many people who buy this stuff its about survival and so more = better. The gentlemen said it correctly when he said there is no one trailer that suits everyone's need. I have owned a Patriot Camper for 2 years and for me the only thing I can see this trailer having an advantage over mine is sleeping inside aspect (not something I prefer) and the price. If I were in the market for a teardrop style trailer this would probably be the one but would opt for a different kitchen layout than this one.

    Looks like the prices have gone up quite a bit. If I could have this well equipped trailer (without the tent) for around 25K, I'd be clearing out my 3rd garage and booking a plane ticket to Canada. It blows away the similar prices Gobi that I looked at in AZ. Still too rich for me, as I'm seeing "sold" trailers on their website in the 32K -35K price range. Maybe I'll catch a sale soon.

    I really really dig this trailer it’s very cool. But I have two concerns, mainly the suspension. Is it sturdy enough? I’ve heard of Timbren but compared to the suspension on the Patriot or Black Series, looks kinda flimsy. And number two, what sort of hitch does it have? Can it be upgraded to a McHitch setup from Australia? Thanks

    How does this compare with patriot campers , same model vs same model roughly?

    • @mixflip

      Patriot doesn't make a hard side camper unfortunately.

    This is a cool and affordable toy. Two questions; 1. Does the shower thingy have a caddy or pockets on the canvas to leave your toiletries there while camping? 2. Can you install the biggest Dometic or top-loading fridge I can find (95 or 105)?

    • @Chriss-Gear
      @Chriss-Gear 5 лет назад

      There are pockets in the shower tent. 2 of them. You cannot install a larger fridge. They are too deep and will run into the battery box on the driver's side. I have a CFX DZ-75 and that will not work. The tray is also made for the CFX 65 dimensions. I hope that helps you.

    I’m thinking the biggest change I’d like to see is a different interior finish besides painted metal. Sure it’s easy to maintain, but it’s “cold”. Wood would be so much “warmer” feeling.

    • @mixflip
      @mixflip  8 месяцев назад +1

      That is the one thing I would tell all these builders....yes make the outside metal and composite...but the feel of wood on the inside is way better than metal. I would install wood siding or wood panels inside myself if given the chance. Give it a cabin feel on the inside.

    i’m 6 ft 4. that being said, i’d be into the same set up if i could get it in a king size (not into a queen size) bed with a 7 foot sleep length. i heard him say they’d do a custom build so i’m sure they would build it. another thing for me , i would suggest a wifi cable antenna sys. that way a person has internet and cable, being able to watch the british open golf tournament in the woods. i’m going to check out your site. i give this a A+, nice product.

    I do like this setup and the price is very reasonable. The wife and I have been trying to figure out the best type of trailer for us a cargo w/rtt or sleep in with outer storage. Still not decided but one thing I keep coming back to is the older I get the less I wish to crawl up ladders and high things. Gonna play with their build tool and who knows we may have a winner.

    • @mixflip
      @mixflip  5 лет назад +1

      I wouldn't mind owning this one for sure. I know WeeRoll in Florida has a new off road camper trailer with a high roof that does double duty as a cargo hauler (for motorcycles etc) and you can sleep in it like a camper. Check with them and mention Mixflip if you ever email them for details.
