I love this idea and found some great fabrics. I had no trouble smoothing the fabric but still see white streaks of modpodge from the front after several days if drying. What am I doing wrong?

My guess would be maybe too much modpodge? If you smooth it on good, once the modpodge dries there shouldn't be any streaks. If you have extra material and want to start over, soak the plate in hot water. That will loosen the fabric so you can remove it. I hope this helps. Good luck and thanks so much for watching! 😊

Can the plates get wet to hsndwash or do you just clean the inside ? I've just got into paper napkin decoupage and watcged your ironing episode which suggested fabric i haven't come across this before. I'm excited to try it. THANK YOU. Was difficult to hear, but i persevered 😊 And it was definitely worth it Have a great day.

They can’t be submerged in water just wiped off. There is though dishwasher safe mod podge. I can’t really speak to how well it works as I haven’t used it. I use my plates mostly for decorative purposes or gifts. Sorry about the sound quality but thank you so much watching. Happy crafting 😊

Thank you for the video. Have you ever had issue with streaks showing on the front of the plate?

Yes I've had that happen but I've found that smoothing the fabric out as much as possible eliminates the streaks. Thank you so much for watching!

SOS - I NEED HELP ASAP: I modged podged the fabric to the back of my plates yesterday afternoon and let them dry ALL NIGHT LONG. And I started applying the modge podge to cover the fabric a few minutes ago and it doesnt seem like the modge podge is soaking into the fabric. Did I wait too long to make it work?? I'm flying out of town at 6am in the morning and I have to take these back with me so I need advise asap in case I have to start all over again.

      Hi Teresa,
Did you put a coat of mod podge to cover the fabric yesterday? Once they dry all night the last coat is basically just to make sure the edges are sealed well. So to start, you put a coat of mod podge on the back of the plate, put down the fabric, smooth the fabric out, coat the fabric with mod podge and let it dry all night. Once dry, trim fabric close to edge of plate and coat again if needed. I hope this helps! Please let me know.

Can you combine fabric and paper on a glass bowl. Let’s say your design has fabric flowers but the background you want to use is solid color paper. Can you do that or two different materials are a nono.

I think yes, it could be done. I definitely would give it a try. Once it dries, I think I would put a piece of parchment paper down and iron it just as an extra layer of securing both. The good thing is if it doesn’t turn out the way you want, soak the plate in warm water to reuse it. Please let me know how it goes 😊 Thanks for watching!
