- The movie "Dracula vs. Frankenstein" (not to be confused with the infamous Al Adamson film of the same name) is also known as "Assignment Terror" and "The Monsters of Terror".
Bringing two dead scientists (Michael Rennie and Karin Dor) back to life, Aliens use their knowledge to re-animate various earth monsters, including the werewolf Waldemar Daninsky, Frankenstein's monster (both played by Jacinto Molina), the mummy Tao-Tet, and the vampire Count de Meirhoff. Their plan is to use them to take over the world. They want to discover the reason that these monsters are so frightening to Earthlings. They then plan to create an army of such monsters using their findings.

When I was a child and watched movies like this one, the flashing lights on a board was advanced technology to me. Knobs and toggle switches were awesome.
How many of you sat in front of your television set every Saturday morning watching space alien, monster and Flash Gordon movies and was awed by the technology that reanimated the monsters and aliens?

I watched the Buster Crabbe Flash Gordon serials and the technology in the spaceships looks like a 1930s plumbing supply store.
This is definitely a Frankensteined movie .
Bits and pieces are missing and slapped together .
I wish we could have gotten the Werewolf vs. Dracula too. It was cool to see an updated version of the fight between the Wolf Man and Frankenstein's Monster.
Universal was gonna make that, but the script was lost. Instead, the wolfman and Dracula fought in Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein.

One minute this is a Horror movie and the next minute a breath-mint commercial. Brilliant!
Michael Rennie of course did 2 films i consider classics..."The Power" and "The Day the Earth Stood Still".
Michel Rennie was also the Keeper on Lost in Space with a space zoo.
This was a full-on five-cheese pizza with additional cheese baked into the crust, but I watched to the end.

Sad, this movie the dregs for a great actor like the great late Michael Rennie whose 111 years old on August 25. 2020. He'd be dead within a year on June 10th, 1971. Tragic ending for a wonderful actor....

Wasn't there another film called Dracula vs. Frankenstein with both Lon Chaney and J. Carroll nash around 1971? I do know this was both their last film.

Me too. There are so many movies that are from the 70s. You should see The Brotherhood of Satan, The Devils Rain, Witchcraft 1960, Horror Hotel, The Mephisto Walz, The Sentinel, The Dunwhich Horror, just to name a few
This is an voice over of Michael Renner real voice. A lot of these actors from the 40s 50s had to take B movie roles in the 60s and 70s for work, it was ashame, actors like Lon Chaney, John Carradine for example also. Even Joseph Cotton took b movie roles in his later years.

This films original title was Assignment:Terror it's a available on torrent but it's not dubbed in english which sucks. Good movie like this that I saw on wor-9 back in the 1980s and for the life of me cant find the english dub with it's original title

I believe I saw this on TV in the early 1970s, but I'm not sure. It's too bad the color has degraded so badly. Interesting film.
I saw it on TV in the mid 70s.
I don't mind the lack of color, but I do mind the lack of clarity and contrast which makes it hard to see, esp. the darker scenes. KInda ruins the pleasure of watching.

As great an actor as Michael Rennie was, he must've really needed the money to appear in this schlock crap. Idiotic story, terrible acting by the "locals" & a hokey "Frankenstein" that's never really explained where/how he came from.
He probably need hush money to pay any blackmailers that would reveal he was gay at the time.
Its very common for older actors who aren't getting good or even so-so parts to do what it takes to keep working. Gotta put beans and beer on the table, right? In fact, I always look forward to seeing once "big" actors show up in the horror genre when they get on. Good journeyman behavior. Keep workin' as long as you need to and as long as you can.
