- UFC 304 : Aspinall vs. Blaydes 2 will take place at the Co-Op Live arena in Manchester, England.
UFC interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall will make the first defence of his title in his home city of Manchester this summer.
It will come against Curtis Blaydes and it is an opponent who Aspinall will want to settle the score with.
Aspinall and Blaydes met in London two years ago, but just 15 seconds into their bout, the British star injured his knee and was unable to continue.
Tom Aspinall's career has skyrocketed in the two years since a serious knee ligament injury forced a premature end to his bout with Curtis Blaydes at London's O2 Arena. After Blaydes' victory over Jailton Almeida at UFC 299, he called for a rematch against Britain's UFC interim champion, who knocked out Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 295 to secure the interim heavyweight title back in November.

Anthony Smith is right. This is the toughest fight Tom could have taken. Curtis is arguably the worst stylistic matchup for him. He deserves respect for taking a fight he could have avoided.
And it's so frustrating that Tom was forced into fighting the best guy in the heavyweight division without any title on the line. Curtis Blaydes is the one who injured Jon Jones with a take down, and Blaydes would probably walk straight through (beat) Jon Jones. Blaydes has way more dangerous striking and is more well rounded than Jon and a lot more muscular too.

He ducked Cyril gane when it actually made sense rankings. Before he was in the top 5 he wanted Cyril to take all the risk while he potentially has all the gain. Now they’re both #1 and #2 but he doesn’t want that fight.

Tom wil stop his clock first round unless Curtis decides to go ground immediately. There's no guarantee he even gets Tom down. If he does his ground game isn't pure. Tom will simply stand up then knock him out. Jones will avoid forever if possible. Dana obviously has final decision.

Losing to Curtis wouldn’t be getting “fraud checked”. Curtis has been the most underrated guy in the division for years and Tom has already proven his abilities against other top guys.

this for me anyways is the true title fight Jones is great obviously but he beat Cyril for the title who already lost to Ngannu whos wrestling was such a hole that even Ngannu was beating his ass on the ground.
