nice vid. I believe Holden recommend removing the bleed nipple completely when filling through the top radiator hose with one end in the radiator. This pushed all air out when filling block and most of radiator. Once it starts running out all air would have been pushed out. Reconnect the hose and fit the yellow tool or an old radiator hose and fill more coolant until steady stream from the bleed screw. As it is squirting out install and tighten screw. Then just start it up and run till thermostat opens. But this stage most air left is bubbles from the water pump impeller. The supercharge versions can be really hard to bleed with the thermostat at the back.

I like the filler jug but VZ etc run a different cap and if the housing for the cap is corroded may have trouble, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones

Think YT removed my comment because it had a Phone Number? Whyalla is having a demolition Derby in January, open class (Full size cars including utes/Panel vans) and to call Browny. For further details, (i'll provide later) it's closer to you you than Murray Bridge by at least a 10 hour round trip.

Hey thanks for the video, I found it very helpful. I have got to the stage of refilling with water and draining again to clear out the flush cleaner but I can only get about 6 or 7 litres back in each time before it overflows. My manual says it should take 12 litres. I am guessing the block still has about 5 litres in it. Will that be ok?

Just had to top up coolant in my 03 VY Berlina so topped it up via the radiator cap made sure it went through took it for a 40 min drive got home then after it cooled down I checked it and it wasn't at the top so I gave it a good pour and I've been doing that for the passed 3 days is that cause it needs to go through the system and everything so it's not completely full or something? I've seen no leaks anywhere got cardboard under it everyday to see if so but nothing yet anyone understand what I'm talking about thanks fellas!!

      G'day mate
Hey maybe see if you can borrow a pressure tester or get it pressure tested sounds like youve got a leak
Sometimes the intake manifold leaks at the back of the engine

Also see if these a coolant stains on the transmission eg where coolant from the back of the engine could be running down from

Another awesome vid mate. How gunky is that cooling system haha reminds me of my first HQ in the 90's it had a 179 engine and was so gunked up I found what looked like an ear in the radiator LOL that memory stuck with me and a mate who witnessed it. Always getting reminded about it ha. Those yellow thingos are very handy ive had one for years.
