Cuchulainn's story is always intriguing, the gods made him in an attempt to cleanse the world of its corruption and impurities, unfortunately the world's filth is too much, even for a mythical being. Ironically Cuchulainn turned impure and corrupted itself!
I wonder why there are no depictions of him before he attempted to cleanse the world in any of the FF series. I sort of take it personally because his zodiac symbol is Scorpio, which I am. It's sort of tragic/poetic irony, I can see why he hates the Gods after he turned out the way he did.
There's actually a similar story to him in Islamic belief. The black stone which is attached to the Holy Kabba was once apart of a larger stone which came from paradise. At first it was as white as milk then the children of Adam (as) turned it black because of their their sins.
if you guys think cu is bad, remember that zalera once had his own full-on villain taking over the world arc and got shot down AFTER managing to terrorize the world and claim countless souls. Every esper is like their own extinction level event
Still the cutest esper ever....and according to his bio he was just a happy go lucky (and beautiful) guy who became ugly and poisonous because the gods didn't realize how dirty the world was.
TouchyBanana Yiazmat’s fight lasts longer and his attacks have a chance to OHKO your characters. Pretty sure that puts his damage output higher than Shinryu. Shinryu’s still a pain in the ass, though.
Poor Cuchulainn, the Gods made him pure at first so he could suck up all the evil in the world. But they fucked up the calculations and there was more evil than they accounted for. So he got corrupted through pure negligence.
A few things that would help. Regen, esunaga, hastega, bubble and equipping the characters with the relic that makes you immune to immobilize. That should make the battle go more smoothly. I also had my characters using the golden ax (damage was variable but generally did overall more damage) or have Balthier or Basch with the zodiac spear.
Immobilize is not the problem. Disable is probably your biggest threat in this fight, along with Invert. If you can deal with those, Esunaga and Curaja will take care of the rest of the statuses (aside from Slow).
@@cameraredeye3115: True but using all of those, regen, hastaga (haste 2), etc. and the lead character with a ranged weapon (out of disabe GA range), you can still attack and sling spells/items as needed.

Especially in this game where you don't have to reapply after every fight- So what if it's a small amount? A little can go a long way.
@@phoenixchampion7: And it's continuous. I have saved a LOT of MP using regen instead of healing every 3 or 4 actions. Out of battle, regen is still active.

Cura is enough. Realistically, you need a way to burst down the initial enemies in order to isolate him alone. He's chunky, but if you set your gambits right and have the right licenses up, he's manageable even at lower levels. Phoenix Netsuke is a lifesaver here. If push comes to shove, drop a quickening on him.
My tactic to deal with the HP drain field was actually to have my white mage cure all the time. Yeah really. She never did anything else haha. It was super safe but worked

Cu Chulain is like Exodus. You need a meat tank to hold the gate? Want an actual offensive presence? Use Shemhazai who ignores most damage type immunities and can do Zodiark levels of damage. The espers also matter WHEN you use them. Early on, Belias pulls his weight. Mid game, if you gain access to Addramelech (easy to do with quickening spamming) he trivializes the Garamscythe waterways. Remember also that Ribbon is ridiculous to get in this game. An Esper ignores status ailments. They straight up trivialize bosses like Carrot and Deathgaze.
souls fanboys are all borderline retarded just ignore them literally every single game to them is a souls game also this retards are ignoring the fact that ff12 came out way before souls game im pretty sure their still in diapers when the original ff12 got released.

set in Ivalice, Cuchulainn is a nightmare, both on FF XII and FF Tactics
Everyone : "My astrological sign has a badass eon, look at that wonderful design"
Scorpion people : "yeah whatever"
Cuchulain completely destroyed my dignity in Final Fantasy XII, not to even mention Ultima and Zodiark.
after Zodiark Ultima is easy in comparision, the mecha spider near Ultima and the dragon that took half a day to die are the real nightmare.

The most annoying battle in FF12 IMO. And on a second note, I just realized he has a weapon impaled through his head. Ouch.

This fight can be very hard if you don’t have the proper accessories to prevent immobilize and disable, and at least two strong healers with Curaja.

All these playthroughs and I have *never* seen anyone using regen. As soon as I got it, I had it on continuously.
Never needed to because the regen is so minimal unless my characters were hit with Sap. And especially during end game where HP is at 14,000+
