    For the doritos I grew up as this called a "shake and bake." It does work but I think the Doritos are just a novelty idea. It was an easy way to get kids involved with making dinner without them getting raw egg on their hands.

    • @CelticStar87
      @CelticStar87 Год назад +5

      That's what it reminded me of. I feel like crushing the Doritos prior to adding the milk and eggs would be a better idea, that way you can get them finer without worrying about milk and eggs spilling everywhere. But sometimes these hacks end up being more "work" in the end. This was very much a "shake 'n bake" kind of thing.

    You usually get best results when candying if you start with sugar and water and slowly cook out the moisture. The sugar penetrates into the fruit instead of just creating a shell on the outside.

    Hi, You made a 2 ingredient pancake. 1 was the soya milk and 2 was the butter you put in the pan to grease it. And the milk and butter mnixed in the pan. That is why you got the brown on the bottom of the soya milk.

    Jazzy! The doritos one is a video from the Pun Guys. They're Canadians who try hacks, recipes, pranks, and pun wars. The doritos video was more for them to try a recipe that they saw online instead of showing a hack. In the original video about that recipe before they even tried it, the doritos bag was used the same way. It became a weird wacky trend for a short period of time just because of how weird it was.
    Nobody I have seen do it actually enjoyed the bag method.
    Apparently the recipe itself tastes good.

    I’m pretty sure the last tik tok with the Doritos is a Canadian Tik Toker since Neilson’s milk is Canadian. And I’m sure if you used bowls vs the bag method, it would work. Not sure how good it would be, but the bag is a pain-it’s like the old fashioned shake n bake of the 70s and 80s.

    • @tracey2156
      @tracey2156 Год назад

      It's really not hard to chop some Doritos in a food processor and put them in a bowl to coat the chicken, it would give a more even coating to be honest. Yeah I think it is suppose to be like shake n bake but shake n bake is a fine crumb mixture not bigger pieces of chips. Also I agree with Jasmine, gross to the raw chicken on a wood cutting board. Btw Jasmine, you can also use crushed Corn Flakes to coat chicken and fry it.

    • @LE123LE123
      @LE123LE123 Год назад

      Totally agree-I don’t think the bag is helping one bit and in fact, takes more time. And yeah-cutting raw chicken on wood--she’s wearing gloves, but sort of forgetting about the wood. I would have crunched up the Doritoes first, then put the egg/milk in, but then I guess that would need mixing too. I think it’s more work than just using bowls too.

    I generally wouldn't trust a recipe coming from someone who uses a paring knife to cut chicken. I mean, you can use chips/crisps in place of breadcrumbs for some extra texture or flavor, but you don't usually mix them with egg and milk. You want the breading dry so it crisps up and doesn't go all soggy. Like a lot of people are saying, the shaking activity sounds like Shake N' Bake. Basically, really seasoned breadcrumbs in a little baggie that you shake the meat in. The first tagline was as follows;
    Parent: It's Shake N' Bake!
    Child: And I helped!

      I grew up with a dad so worried about the raw meats and cross contamination that he had multiple cutting boards (all not wood also). And he went as far as to label each board for “meats”, “veggies”, and “fruit’s” just to ensure when we were kids we wouldn’t make a mistake and then his grand babies wouldn’t use the wrong one either. My husband and I got them after he passed away and my poor husband was sooo confused since he doesn’t think of some of those things lol.
