He wasn’t my first choice, but oh was I so wrong. This go has absolutely transformed my team, he has improved players on a personal level, Ait-Nouri, Samedo, he’s got a great team spirit, and technically he is brilliant. Only took over 3 days before the season started, had crap VAR decisions go against him, and were favourites to get relegated. I know he won’t get it, because it will go to a top six team manager, but he should get Manager of the season. Well done GON.🐺

Thank you. I would also like to thank Bournemouth for making this genius available. Finally I would like to thank Matt Hobbs for realising in interview that Gary O'Neill was a special manager. I must admit, whilst admiring the job he did at Bournemouth I was a little underwhelmed when Gary was appointed. But it just goes to show you don't need an exotic name and a foreign passport to be a great coach. I only hope we can keep hold of him.

GON has made mugs of almost every Wolves fan, every Bournemouth fan and the Bournemouth hierarchy. They spent £100m and we sold £140m worth of players - 17 of them.
The only two to come out of his appointment with heads held high are Matt Hobbs (and to a lesser degree) Jeff Shi, who trusted in Hobbs' judgement.
The transformation of Cunha proves what you said about O'Neil instilling belief. Others have also improved going forward such as Hwang, Semedo and Neto. We are a joy to watch.

O'neal has done a great job when he came in with 5 days to the start of the season no money sold neves and Nunes who had his head turned because it was man city glad we sold him he was shit for us we have got to keep netto for a few more seasons and get more money for him he's got to be worth 80 to 100 million if any one wonts him

Great analysis, GON has really surprised me this season, with his confident tactics. He's a real asset and has every chance of going on to be one of the top managers in the sport. All this from a manager who was dismissed as a PE teacher, less than a year ago.

Top video mate, interesting to see how Gary O’Neil has brought formation discipline and structure to Wolves. He is also getting the best out of the squad, especially Cunha and Hwang. As a Wolves fan it’s also a joy to watch my team play at the moment, pace and entertaining. Defo manager of the season if we finish in the top 10 😎👍🐺🐺🐺

Great analysis showing why GON is now rightly starting to get the praise he deserves. Because Wolves analyse the character of potential players before they buy them he has inherited a squad devoid of prima donnas which has helped him to mould them, imo. But you are correct he is a great man manager and has done a phenomenal job of instilling confidence and progression into the team.

I really think given the foundations he’s built this season, and going into next season he will have a proper preseason with the team and finally money to play with, we should hopefully be able to secure a European position. Such a wonderful manager and his etiquette and respect to officials and VAR after being screwed over time and time again is commendable. I was initially excited when I heard he was coming. Had a couple of moments of feeling on the fence but Gary has fully earned my trust, he’s almost as much an icon as Nuno already. COYW! great video. I'd like to point out what is most noticeable from a fans point of view is the amount of options available during transition, but mainly in the final third. over the last few years we would see players break up the wing just to find one player standing pretty motionless at the back post where as now there is generally 2 or 3 options depending on whatever stage of the game we are in.

He has improved every single player.... and has moved on those that didn’t want to be at wolves. Hes made wolves a feel good team. A team that was completely written off. To a team that had ridiculous stats and results.. ait nori nearly was sold.. he is now the best lb at wolves. Cunha apprently couldnt hit a barn door. Now hes scoring hat tricks. Wolves didnt do well away. Now theyre winning scoring 4 goals.. lemina a player that was cast aside by teams of old cause of an attitude now hes one of the best senior heads at the club.. hwang neally was sold as well after not being good enough to compete againt premier league opposition.. has 10 goals.. neto lost all belief after his injuries and gary saw so much in him he just unlocked that form he had duing covid! Toti gomes. Toti was a bench player.. called back off loan at a swiss club. Now hes a full fledged integral wall at the back! Semedo. One of those players that wolves fans just couldnt get behind cause of his price and his work ethic. Since garry he never stops running! And had players like salah in his back pocket.
I just cant commend this guy more.
To come in 4 days to go to a season. No preseason and a club disgruntled in almost every way. Gary has almost made mirracles happen..

That's definitely something that I could look into. He's a unique coach in this league at the moment as he focuses quite heavily on preparation on opposition analysis. Obviously he has his own way of play and philosophy but his attention to detail on his preparation for his side is refreshing.

So I still think that what he did managed to turn Wolves around and get them performing well against the likes of City, Chelsea, Tottenham etc.
The poor performances now shouldn’t undo the good work from before.
That being said, I still believe Gary O’Neil has the capability of turning things around, they’ve had the hardest fixture run of any side and with a bit of time, I think they’ll improve. Stay positive.

    I wanted nuno back,
Without the bitterness of having to sell jota,
    Couldn't stand lopetegui,
    When gon arrived,
I posted on youtube and said, at least give him a chance, wolves appeared to be a poisened chalice,
    No money for players,
    An ffa problem,
And no way around selling players,
    Gon took that on,
    And succeeded.
The last 5 matches of early 2023 showed a listless, uninterested
    Unmotivated team,
    Apart from neves.
    Well done gary.

GON deserves a lot of credit as a great manager. I believe he has built a great squad, mindset and relationship with supporters.
He’s also benefited from a base of good signings before his arrival. 1:45 we’re listing players like Guedes, Moutinho, and Podence and this season we have Gomes, Cunha, and Neto.
All credit to GON however in fairness to Lage, he had far less talent at his disposal

As a wolves supporter I genuinely feared the worst this season, the club was in absolute turmoil just a few days before the season but O’Neil has come in and at least on the footballing side has got us going, our worry is with the Teflon don jeff shi in charge our finances are diabolical

Comparing the team now, which is firing on all cylinders to a point in time when the team was in disarray seems pointless.
Two years ago, we had more points. Do a comparison to a game we won then.

    • @ZekkoFootball
      @ZekkoFootball  11 месяцев назад

Would you not say that the transition has happened because of the way Gary O'Neil has improved the side? They have gone from being in disarray to a side which is firing, that is through the work the manager has put in to the team and club.
