Hi Mustermann! Great video please keep on doing these kinda videos, kinda like a virtual 'who should Wolves sign'. A selfish request, please do an Arsenal one 😂❤️
Someone else has already asked, so I've added Arsenal to the list, but it might be a while before I head back to the Prem. Gonna explore some other leagues first.
I think you should sim with your new tactic before you make a signing aswell so we can see if its the new player making the difference or just the tactic
I could also sign the player and leave the tactics up to the assistant manager to see if it's the new player making the difference or just the tactic. Or I could sign all the recommendations in different saves and run multiple simulations to see which is the very best. Or I could play the season in full multiple times because success is not just down to tactics and players, but injury and morale management. I could perhaps target a different position, and do the same for those positions, too. I might only make one video a year, though.
Great video, love the concept! As an Arsenal fan, I would love to see you do Arsenal. Maybe I get some inspo and motivation to a new save :) ( for the 100th time)
Might still be new to the whole spread sheet analysis thing. One of your older fm23 videos you used a comparison graph after importing from a spreadsheet so do you still have a method to share it with us. I do appreciate how you choose your players
For using Looker Studio (or Tableau) there are links in the description on those videos for how to use them. In terms of sharing the spreadsheet from this, I am not in a position to do so at the moment. It would need tidying up, explainers adding, etc... and isn't fit for public release. You can use the player search view to export yourself and, as I often explain, it is always more valuable to come up with metrics appropriate for your own tactical preferences when assessing players. www.mediafire.com/file/rbf9hwsvkufzyf9/Moneyball_Clinic.fmf/file
@@siu1823 as explained in the other video, I use Google's Looker Studio - just because it's what I'm familiar with, but a lot of other people in the FM space use Tableau. I expect Tableau is better/more user friendly, but I'm getting old and learning new things is hard 😂
I'll add them to the list. There's a couple of others I've already got lined up...but given the research I did into Bremen's history for the PAOK series, it only makes sense!
Sorry, I'm afraid not. It's a live document, that is in no way fit for public release, and will become obselete when the next SI patch comes out, so I don't want to spend time tidying it up before it has to all be replaced anyway 🤣
@@longislandishim Once you're beyond the first transfer window, use the performance data in your game world. This will always be the most useful approach, as once you hit "Continue" for the first time, your save will be different to everyone elses. It will capture the development and regression (usually because of injury) of players that will be appropriate to your save. I recommend making a save point before the seasons change over so you can go back and see historical data, or just export it to the spreadsheet software of your choosing. When I play proper saves, such as the PAOK series, I have player search disabled, so I'm purely using data from the players that my recruitment team have scouted. Sure you might potentially miss a great player out there that you don't know about...but then again, you didn't know about them, so you don't know you've missed them 😂. I haven't found that having a small pool to be particularly problematic, as I'll be comparing them against players in my squad already, and likely to be narrowing it down to 2 or 3 options anyway (some of which is done by virtue of players being too expensive or not interested)

As usual, you are creative and helpful. Question: Can I build a suitable tactic using player data "pizza chart"? Or do I create a custom tactic and contract with specific players using this data who will apply this tactic?
You can do either. In fact, I do both in these videos. I use data from the pizza chart to understand what actions players perform well and explain how I created a simple tactic from it. I then use that tactic to inform what I'm looking for when trying to then sign players.
Great video and very appealing way to play the game. I'm wanting to try your player finding way but struggling to find the best way to display the filter as per your Moneyball Clinic, any chance we can grab that view from somewhere? :)
@@Pequito print screen as web page. This will create an html file. Copy and paste that in to Google Sheets. Clean it up a little bit (find and replace all cells that are "-" exactly with "", find and replace all instances of "km" with "").
No. I play attributeless, so I don't use filters to limit the results. I rely on scouts to build a pool, and then I look at statistical performance to identify targets. When looking at statistical performance, I will consider strength of opposition/standard of league.
@@liamreynolds1247 Still no. A couple of reasons: No two player searches are ever the same. When I'm looking to fill a position I want to look at what I expect of the role, and the baseline of the player they might be replacing. My requirements will be different every time, and using a preset filter/template encourages you to not think about what you're actually looking for. Stats also only ever tell part of the story. A player might be below an arbitrary threshold, but when you take a closer look you see that it is expected as a result of the role they fulfil in their team at the time. With player search disabled, and only scouted players to check through, it's rarely a massive undertaking to look through all viable players (e.g. those who are affordable and interested). I should also add that stats that volume statistics (passes per 90, tackles per 90, etc...) are always indicative of the tactical style of the player, too. If you can find someone who excels in a similar system to your own, that's great, but there are players who might appear better/worse because their team does more of a specific action. You always want to look at it in a broader sense. For example, when I'm looking at progressive passes, I am also looking at passes completed. If two players have roughly the same number of progressive passes, but one makes considerably fewer passes, then I know they tend to look to be more progressive than the other. Finally, I might have an idea of what I want from the role, but I end up finding someone with a slightly different profile who might make me reasses. A player might have a lower pass rate than I wanted, but be a much more progressive carrier, capable of breaking the lines by dribbling, and that might lead to me considering whether they could fulfil a different role, and I could move someone else into the position I initially intended to fill.
Ahh man where do I begin with team recommendations: Ajax, Lyon, Chelsea, Basel,… basically teams that are underperforming irl. Although tbf Chelsea aren’t really underperforming at this point.
So many teams...not enough time! It's always difficult with teams underperforming in real life, if they are otherwise good in FM. Man Utd, for example, finished 4th in the aggregated simulations, and so the players we'd be targetting in FM are likely to be very different to what they need irl. But then it's not just about underperforming teams. I think it will be interesting to see if they are some unexpected options that will provide marginal gains for supposed "big" teams, too. It would be quite cool to unearth some unheralded journeyman in Switzerland and him being the player to help topple Bayern's dominance of the Bundesliga.
The link is in the description! I do need to point out that not everything in this video will be available in the skin. I will edit certain pages so that I can take screenshots for specific videos, and things like the aggregated pizza charts I create externally (as the skin creator, it helps that I created all the assets to begin with 😂)
Good job again mate. One question, why don't you use the scouting in the game and in edit player search, you add the Tackles Won % and Pass Completion or whatever stats you want and narrow them down to the top 3 players you want instead of place them in a spreadsheet? Isn't faster?
@@FalseNine.9 the point I was trying to make was that this series is looking at teams at the start of the game. There are no in-game statistics to go by until games have been played. Thanks for your answer. Going back to the spreadsheet and a previous video you compare players with Bubble graphs, is it the same to do this in the game in the scouting again, adding the stats you want and will show you the players available? The game doesn't compare them for you , whats the graphs help you if alll the players you compare have the same stats?@@mustermannfm
@@FalseNine.9 It really depends on what you're looking for from a specific. For example, in the video here, I was looking for someone who would essentially be a water carrier. Win the ball back and play it safe. This is all visible in the pizza charts in my skin (and I've given permission to other skins to use, such as Electric Panther, Statman, etc...). If I was looking at something that required combining stats, then I'd use third parties like Looker Studio. For example, if I'm looking for a winger or attacking midfielder I might want to view certain actions together (shots, key passes, dribbles, fouls won) that I otherwise can't through the game itself, or aren't easy to compare in table format. In terms of tie-breaking players with similar stats (it's exceptionally unlikely anyone will have the exact same), then the main considerations are personality, adaptability and value. Graphs won't help you there.
@@mustermannfm Right? In any case, fantastic work. I could never have the patience to go as in depth as you did, but the results you've gotten at are truly fascinating. Hoping to see more in the future!
@@-shikajin-4078ta very much. In the internet era it's so easy to find wonderkids, and players with great attributes. It's quite nice to find instead those situational players. Ones who will perform and improve teams, but only in specific circumstances.
Absolutely fine. Whilst the quality of players are lower, so are the opposition, so it's still useful for understanding the strengths and weaknesses of players at that level. For example, it was perfectly useful for me in the South African second division in FM23.
As long as someone found it funny, I'm happy!! And thank you for pointing that out. I'd uploaded two versions of the Sevilla one in case the main one fell foul of copyright; and didn't even think it wouldn't get removed from the playlist after I deleted the video.

@@loganadams1205 I should've added before that there will be some things in these videos that won't be in the skin. As a skinner, I will make changes/tweaks to help me display information in the video that won't necessarily be useful to be displayed in that manner in a released version of the skin. There are also times where I will make things externally for the video. For example, the squad planner with wage spend. I don't believe there would be a way to do that inside the game, so I recreated it externally for this video (as I felt the squad planner was a better way of displaying that information than just a list of players).

What can i say class video again been waiting for upload
Thank you, dude. Glad you enjoyed it! I really think this will be an interesting series when eploring different teams and leagues!
btw ur skin is actally a gamechanger found so many good talent with it for cheap @@mustermannfm
Good video, but you forgot to make use of Wolves' best player Fabio Sil- *holds laughter*
I was shocked to discover that he's still only 20! Swear he's been around for decades.
Amazing so good again as always. As a Villa fan I also can confirm you don't want to be Wolves 🤣
The only saving grace was at least Villa finished above them in every test 😂
Is it good to use the pizza part in the scotish second devision or it will be bad
Absolutely fine. Whilst the quality of players are lower, so are the opposition, so it's still useful for understanding the strengths and weaknesses of players at that level. For example, it was perfectly useful for me in the South African second division in FM23.
@@mustermannfm ok thanks
10/10 once again. Class dismissed
Thank you, dude!!
Nice video but l can t find emil 😢
Do you have the Norwegian Eliteserien loaded?
@@mustermannfmokay thanks
Teach me, senpai
Disclaimer Is funny I approve, you should remove the hidden video from this playlist Munster
As long as someone found it funny, I'm happy!!
And thank you for pointing that out. I'd uploaded two versions of the Sevilla one in case the main one fell foul of copyright; and didn't even think it wouldn't get removed from the playlist after I deleted the video.
@@mustermannfm how often are you planning to come out with this series, and is there a series on how to get my game to look like yours?
@@loganadams1205Realistically, with work commitments and the PAOK series, it's likely this will be a once very few weeks kind of thing.
As for getting the game to look like mine, you can download the Mustermann Iconic skin: bit.ly/46zPxAP

@@mustermannfm thank you!
Interesting, but the music is annoying.
Thank you for the feedback. No one else has raised any objections yet, but if others feel the same, please do let me know (adding a thumbs up to ThreeRunHomer's comment would also be useful)
