Asgard has long been the seat of power within the nine realms and while the gods of asgard are neat and all, we’re more interested in the weapons they wield. Forged on Nidavellir, the godly weapons of Asgard would crumble the bodies and collapse the minds of mortal men.. Which is pretty metal. This video isn’t going to cover every weapon in asgard like Sif’s collapsible sword, Volstagg’s spear-axe, Fandral’s rapier, or Hogun’s mace etc etc etc - Today's video is going to focus on what we believe are the most powerful Asgardian weapons in the MCU.

Heimdall himself has access to the bifrost. His sword is more of conduit to channel the power. Like Thor and his weapons
Actually the only reason he can summon the bifrost with out it is because the all fathers dark magic which they gave access to Heimdall.
if you mean in the MCU then yes its hinted at that he was imbued with dark magic and thats how he was able to send hulk to earth in norse mythology though he was merely the gatekeeper of the bridge who would sound the horns when the giants attacked at ragnarok (Unless I missed a bit of his norse history)
I didnt like when Cap was using lightning powers because I always thought that Thor used the hammer as a conduit rather than where the power came from

By the way, hofund (Heimdall's Sword) is shaped in the way of the Asgardian horns. It is shaped just like Odin's helmet when Odin was in war/battle. Notice how Loki, Hela and Odin all have horn based helmets.

Btw key issues, the necroswords most Impressive feat isn’t massacring the army, but piercing Karl Urbans character, his armor plates were interlocking uru.
And I believe that gungnir is WELL above mjolnir. It’s the weapon of a king, where mjolnir is “the weapon of a prince” with the spear Loki watched Thor, meaning that it empowers the user when they are king and thus able to access the Odin force, which is why it didn’t make Thor stronger really, however a weaker hela casually destroyed mjolnir, but didn’t instantly destroy gungnir when far stronger.

The way I see it, Mjolnir is more effective to use in battle, but Stormbreaker is far more powerful. Mjolnir focuses on tactics, but Stormbreaker focuses on raw power.

ODIN is my favorite mythological deity and GUNGNIR is my fav weapon from mythology. The spear is called the "King of Bladed Weapons" for a reason

The spear is what was used to channel the full power of the byfrost in order to destroy the home of the Frost Giants.

Ok sweet, thank you. I’m curious about something else too. I’ve seen the interviews where “dwarven Magic’s” are cured by the Russos as one of the reasons that Stormbreaker was able to power through the IG (I’ve done an extensive write up on them for a Quora question in fact), however, wouldn’t it, logically be necessary for Stormbreaker to be inherently powerful enough to resist/absorb the energy of the Stones without being destroyed/overloaded?? Or are we to accept that the enchantments of the Dwarves/Odin>the Infinity Stones?? After all, they made the Gauntlet, not the Stones themselves.
@@justinanderson2460 Remember the Infinity Gauntlet was made to combine the power of the Infinity Stones to allow them to be used simultaneously. The magic of the gauntlet acts like a carrier wave to combine the stones power. Stormbreaker is synced with the same magic carrier wave so can cut through it. If you watch Star Trek think of it like this. If you know the shield frequency of a starship you can effortlessly bypass it. I think the way Stormbreaker can cut through the multi-stone beam is like that. So if Thanos had taken one stone out of the Gauntlet and used it independently of the gauntlet then Stormbreaker couldn't resist it

Is this backed up anywhere or is this just your theory/opinion?? I mean the only actual connection was the Russo’s citing “dwarven magics” as a possible reason why Stormbreaker might have been able to do what it did. They said that the fact they were made by the same guy “might have had something to do with it”. But they also cited that Stormbreaker was the most powerful weapon ever created in one interview and the most powerful weapon in the universe in another so the exact connection was always a bit ambiguous and possibly speculative, I thought.

@@justinanderson2460 I like to think Odin once went on a conquest after his HelaOdin conquest, I think he tried to get all the stones but realized what he could unleash with them and put an enchantment on them to make their power not as powerful as they used to be, maybe he tried to nerf their power but even his magic couldn’t completely lower their power but also that’s how Stormbreaker (an asgardian weapon made for a king with the Odinforce) could resist the stones power more easily (though it helps that Stormbreaker can access the bifrost and can channel Thor’s lightning and his (not completely powerful yet) Thorforce )
Actually The gauntlet does possess power. Because of the enchantments it's able to absorb and siphon infinite amounts of power. Regardless of the structure of the metal. Which is why Tony Stark's Infinity gauntlet wasn't able to protect the wielder. This gauntlet made by the dwarves is able to protect the wielder because it could withstand all that power.

I find it funny how Thanos is all like "there is so much suffering and starvation from overpopulation". Why not use the gauntlet to make more habitable planets? More fertile soil across the galaxy?

The infinity stones can’t fully destroy themselves. Thanos broke the stones down to atoms, and the stones would probably rebuild over a extremely long period or if someone knew how to fix them.

I think Gungnir is a more powerful weapon that Mjølner and Strombeaker. Those are kinda just overhyped I kinda do think Gungnir only works for the true King of Asgard. Reason why I didn't help Thor as much against Hela.

Nah, Hela can block some of wanda's spells. She would have to get close to her if she wants to change Hela into what she wants. Hela can do really longe ranged attacks fast and is smarter faster ans physically stronger. Wanda could win but i think Hela is gonna take it because she's ghad longer to manifest her powers. Wanda is still new to her powers.

@@RealCosmosry Wanda chipped the blade, not destroy it. Also it took her significant effort to break a piece off the blade, but Hela jus casually crushes mjolnir. Also, logically speaking, Hela's feat of destroying Mjolnir is far more impressive becuz Mjolnir is much thicker than Thanos' blade which means it's much harder to destroy. So yea... EG Wanda didn't show the same level of strength in her power.
the function of the gautlet is that you can harness the power of the infinity stones and with the help of a snap you can furfill any wish the user wants. so snapping away half of the univers is not its primary function...
gungnir, mjolnir and destroyer are so much more than powerful than they showed in MCU
Heimdal's sword can also directly summon the bifrost although in a kinda janky way as seen when he sends hulk back to earth.

lets be honest , strombreaker is shown more powerful than it actually was , thor never loved strombreaker in comics and thor destroyed strombreaker with mjolnir and the strombreaker shown in mcu is just the ultimate mjolnir but they changed the name so that people would think its cooler , plz search in web if you don't know or don't agree with this
Actually Gugnir or Odin spear was the spear Odin himself weild it first until Ragnarok, it was crafted by the dwarf when Thor too get his Mijolnir

I always thought it kinda weird that stormbreaker was soo hyped up to be the most powerfull asgaardian weapon, generally i would say that postition is either held by the Odin-force, the Odin-sword, or the destroyer armor which when used together has been shown to temporily rival the Celestial host, also the tessaract was said to be Odins crownjewel. Nando v movies also did a great piece about how stormbreaker in the MCU should have really been called Jarnbjorn which is the axe Thor uses in the comics when he isnt worthy.

I don't think Mjolnir is stronger than Gungnir, because Hela easily destroyed Mjolnir but couldn't do the same with the spear even though she wasn't on Asgard when she broke Mjolnir.

Liked the Video, just have one question...Mjolnir was enchanted by Odin as is stated, and I am pretty sure I saw Captian America summon lightning with it, but does that give it the amour creating abilities and the giving of life back to Thor? It feels to me that the regeneration of life would be the case, as it was also seen with the creation of StormBreaker, but I feel that the armour is not one of the powers of either Mjolnir or Thor as it was returned with his other powers when he proved himself worthy, however as also stated, there were 2 other 'people' who proved worthy, and neither of them gained the armour....I would lean towards the armour being generated by Asgard as a part of Odins powers, with the only caveat being that it still existed for Thor after Asgards destruction, so I would have to say that once made it was permenant, however Odin stripped it from Thor...

Well, if they would integrate Rune King Thor in the movies (or at least start developing it), that would be the runes and the world tree.
Rune king Thor is Thor's most powerful form that I know of until now. So yeah, the runes.

I don't know if this theory has been told but it's about Hela holding the Mjolnir.
Maybe it's not because she's worthy but because the enchantment Odin casted into it vanishes because Odin's already dead just like Hela's imprisonment.
Vision can lift Mjolnir mainly because he isn't human so the enchantments that Odin casts on the hammer won't apply to vision as he is an AI? Right? If not, can somebody please clarify this confusion i have lol

idk but i remember watching a show and remember someone from one of the nine realms claiming a huge sword that shrunk to the size of a normal human sword and it had a flame type of enchant or something and could kill the frost giants, i forgot what show it was and the name of the sword.

@@davek417 probably not, but its so vague, it started with the sword with was like 10 yards big fell down after a statue made of ice broke and it collapsed with it, and he touched it and it went to fit his hand, and idk but he became somewhat evil ish, it was an older typa asgard, like a frozen one, and im pretty sure odin was in odinsleep during that time period.
One of my friends said something that could make sense he said that the reason hela was able to hold mjolnir despite not being worthy is because since odin died the enchantment wore off where as when thor get it back in endgame he gets it from a time when odin is alive and the hammers enchantment is still active because it's from the past

Just a little edit, the Infinity Gauntlet's power is not eliminating half the Universe. Like in Endgame, it's based on the wielder's will. Thanos wiped half the Universe bc that's what he wanted to.

power stone on its own is the sum of all power that has or ever will exist. the MCU plays fast and loose with the 'power' levels.
But it is actually one of the weakest. Other stones have lots more options like the space stone. It can control space AND produce the energy beams that the power stone can producez
@@superrooster18 the power stone enables the upper level powers of other stones. It has endless power, MCU INFINITY gauntlet is severely under powered. Mcu is 1119 or something, and the regular universe is 616.
