The Black Order, also known as the Children of Thanos, was an elite team comprised of super-powered individuals who used their abilities to serve their adoptive father, Thanos. As Thanos' vicious generals, they assisted him in his mission to find and harness the power of the Infinity Stones.
The Black Order was created by Thanos as part of his modus operandi of adopting one individual of a planet that he conquered and subsequently killing half of the entire population. While some of his children, such as Gamora and Nebula secretly despised Thanos and plotted to kill him, others became sympathetic to his cause and became his generals, known as the Black Order

Ebony Maw is extremely intelligent. If i remember correctly the film writers said he was the one who reverse-engineered the pym particle and time travel tech for them all to go to the future timeline to face off the avengers in the final battle.

Ebony Maw could’ve been an avengers villain on his own. If he invaded earth instead of Loki, there’s nothing the avengers could’ve done to stop him

The entire point of life:
Jesus did not come to be served, but to serve. Mathew 20: 28. We are no different. This entire life is a representation of the spiritual warfare going on. Good vs evil. God isn't a flying man in the sky, but the actual representation of Love, Hope, Joy, Peace, Light, etc. Not metaphor, but literally, like an extra demintional wavelength of thought, emotions, and intent. The devil is the opposite wavelength, pain, fear, hate, anger, darkness, etc. Human life is serving one of these two. Not a man in the sky, actual sentient collective universal Love. However, humans are primatives, we make mistakes. It's in our nature, since the fall, to go down the wrong path. This means at some time each one of us has served darkness to some degree. God understands our limited understanding of our own actions, so he gave us forgiveness, though sacrificing himself in human form as Jesus Christ. It is our duty to accept that sacrifice, get the forgiveness, and be better, helping others be better, and spreading this wavelength of Love, Hope, Joy, Peace, Light, etc, thoughout the universe. But God had to make a way for us to get to this place spiritually, this is why evidence is not allowed. Evidence will make you believe, using the fear of absolute punishment to change your behavior, but that won't make you better, just scared. Faith makes you better. It is what redeemes us, not our works. Faith is the hope that things get better, that justice always prevails, that we're at least loved by our creator. But it has to be Faith in Jesus, because of his sacrifice. And there can't be evidence to point us to him, because Love had to be fair. If there were a code in our DNA, what about everyone born before genetic sequencing? If there were a book with the solar system thosands of years ago, what would stop an evil person from hiding/destroying it? If it were something you had to go to, what about the geographically isolated, imprisoned, or enslaved. If it were a train of logic, what about the uneducated, or mentally slow? Not to mention all the people born before schools. Love cannot give to one without giving to the other. So the key to salvation had to be something everyone has access to. The only thing is Faith. This is why God puts it upon your heart to learn about these things, even if it's only to criticize, or hate. God is everywhere, because Love is everywhere, and so is the devil, because hate is everywhere. They're in your head all the time, regardless of weather or not you accept that. They whisper inside your heart, giving you ideas. But more than that, they're inside everyone's heart. This is how they get things done. They corrordanate us like pieces on a chess board. The only difference is, we get to chose who's side we're playing for. At the end of our life, we go to that team's home base, Heaven, or Hell. A place where all that exists is those wavelengths. Hate, pain, anger, fear, darkness; or Love, Hope, Joy, Peace, Pleasure, Light. The choice is yours to make. But you cannot go to Heaven with hate in your heart. You must forgive, repent, and spread joy for those around you. These are sentient eternal controlling forces in our universe. Heaven and Hell are very real places, I've seen them. Those steps prime your soul for a meeting with God. Very literally. Once you've done all four, in that order, you get divine revelation, with all the evidence you'll ever need. They are, forgive your parents, brake down before Jesus, ask for forgiveness, and read the Bible. Step four takes three books to get the revelation. I recommend Genesis, Mathew, and then either Luke, Psalms, or proverbs. The order of the steps is important, step 1 has to come before step 3. I can state that for an absolute certainty that these steps always work. Please, take your salvation seriously. See for yourself. Do those steps. Jesus Christ is Lord. It's all True'

He’s nothing like that in the comics though. They OP’d the hell out of him and nerfed the rest of the Black Order, and eliminate Super Giant altogether.
He could handle Black Panther too with ease when he grabbed him. Although T’Challa probably could’ve busted out of it with his explosion
Maw isn't like that in the comics, I don't think. I think he's just a telepath? He did break the mind of Doctor Strange though which is very impressive considering Strange is one of the strongest minds in Marvel comics. If he is a telekinetic then I don't think he's that powerful.
The other members of The Black Order were definitely underused and nerfed. Example, Proxima Midnight's spear/trident can move at the speed of light when thrown, so Cap would've died if not for plot.

It’s crazy how ebony maw was one of the most powerful villains in the mcu so far but was overshadowed because he was Thanos’ left hand man and not the big bad of a movie
He also only had one fight and was offed super easily, his death was basically the punchline of a joke.

Well to be fair they snuck up on vision as well and got in a cheap shot.
Made him super weak.
They got the drop on Wanda and Vision, and his glaive seriously wounded Vision and nerfed him for the rest of the movie. Cap, Widow, and Falcon then got the drop on Proxima and Corvus (who was wounded). Not that difficult to understand.

He didn’t destroy them well he did vision but they beat scarlet witch by surprise attacking her but then eventually she overpowered proxima midnight and she would’ve done them both but then the avengers arrived and did it for her

Juan Perez wished they would've had their own movie despite the fact I doubt parents would let their kids watch because they were ruthless in the comics and interesting. I can honestly say that's one flaw I've found in the Avengers movie.

- Corvus Glaive: stealth superiority.
- Proxima Midnight: tactical superiority.
- Ebony Maw: telekinetic and psychological superiority.
- Cull Obsidian: physical superiority.

There is an infinite number of realities where they win
Honestly, I think Dr Strange just got unlucky with what futures he saw.
Hydra might get the stones or Wanda or anyone in the last 2. Thanos is not the only one that wants magic wish granting stones

Okoye didn’t actually kill Corvus, he can only be killed by his own Glaive, that’s why he regenerated from his first wound so fast i believe. When Thanos’ army is getting dusted you can see Proxima and Corvus spending their final moments together

@@gizzad I think that if Corvus dies (in any way) he'll always regenerate as long as his glaive is intact. Something to do with his soul or something. Idk if him being killed by his own glaive changes anything, it might.
I feel their weapons, as well, are underrated. Like, what the hell is Corvus Glaive’s weapon made of that it can cut through vibranium and deflect the power of an INFINITY STONE?

There are way more stronger or equal in strength and durable materials to that of Uru. A common misconception is that Thanos copter blade and Corvus Glaives Spear is made of Uru they both were created from extraterrestrial metal made by eitri.

Well technically corvis glave is still alive, he's immortal and can't die as long as his weapon isn't broken. He will continue to regenerate. Also think of both his weapon and promixas spear. Both has the ability to cut through essentially everything. So both would have cut through captian America's shield as easily as they stabbed vision.

I forgot that Quicksilver & Scarlett Witch were both against the Avengers and wanted to kill them when they first came onto the scene. Imagine if they sided with Thanos so they could get revenge against Iron Man.

@Pelle Koopman Yeah, it was really dumb. They didn't have to make Corvus and Proxima as OP as they are in the comics, but either of them should be able to completely outclass Okoye and Black Widow in a close combat fight. Gamora and Nebula should be able to as well.
MCU Uses comics as inspiration to make their own stories... Just because the comic book characters seem stronger or has different abilities that doesn't mean they are the same in MCU version... MCU doesn't = Comics and vice versa... This has been explained time and time again 🤦🏿♂️

It's a 2 hour movie?? The thing about comics is that stories can take their time and audiences are able to understand who the Black Order is, their powers, strengths and weaknesses... I have a feeling the majority of MCU fans don't have that big of an understanding of the comics books so that why they didn't have much of a role in MCU and were just used as Thanos' bodyguards... Them being at their 'comic book' level strength would have taken the light off who Thanos was and we would have got a completely different story and attitude towards Thanos... When going into an MCU movie I don't look to deep into comics because I know this will be a different story... Why are people not arguing why we didn't see lady Death for being the motive for driving Thanos' thirst for blood ?? Like I said the MCU and comics are different, see it as being a different multiverse in this one yes they are weak, in another they are probably ruthless

I don't know if anyone has said it already but Corvus showed no signs of being hurt because his glaive is the glaive of immortality which prevents him from dying unless the glaive is destroyed. This is directly from the comics.

The final battle should have had a rematch between Maw and Strange. It would've been a way better excuse to don't have him destroy Thanos easily instead of putting him to hold some water for half of the fight.
Shows how strong Thanos is compared them since they are his children, and also shows how much advanced his training techniques are to make his children so powerful, smart and strong.

Fighter: A bit tank-ish, good at hand to hand combat and weaponry. Less faster than Assassins but much physically stronger.
Mage: Mainly uses any types of energy, magic, telekinesis, psychic abilities, etc. Slower than Assassins and Fighters, and much vulnerable but more damage.
Tank: I bit slow, but invulnerable. They possessed super strength among all them and they’re mostly huge. They are also the frontline and “Shields”
Support: Heals, and supports the team. Could be a side kick, a helper, healer, mainly not really good at combat but could be really useful in a specific situations like reading minds, fixing or making weapons, geniuses, long range, etc.

It makes sense that Corvus wasn't killed by getting stabbed by Widow, his life force is connected to the glaive. As long as the glaive is ok, hes ok. So I assume Vision didn't kill him, just injured him enough to take him out of the fight temporarily. I assume with the fight over and his other backup gone, he just slips away (unless they changed it so he could be killed _with_ the glaive)

One thing that I think it's important to note in this analysis is that each of the members of the order and they fought they went up against their most favorable matchups obsidian going up against two characters who didn't have the Firepower to put them down being equipped for this Spier specifically designed to counter vision and going up against an already exhausted Captain America the only one who was in any way on a Level Playing Field with the fight with Doctor Strange and even then strange didn't know this guy's capabilities but he knew all of Doctor Strange's the order didn't fight fair either and it's important to note that

Corvus Glaive was my personal favorite. The dude almost single-handedly took out Vision, one of, if not the most powerful of the Avengers. The fact that he could sneak into the HQ of Wakanda was also incredibly impressive.
That reference about the Battle of New York is on point. Put the Black Order there instead of Loki, and they would have steamrolled the then-small team of Avengers who weren’t in their prime yet.
Aside from Cull Obsidian who was the only one of them to be truly defeated in a 1v1 if you don’t count Corvus being finished by Okoye in Endgame (he had likely defeated dozens of warriors before he was finally put down), the Black Order members are only ever defeated by either trickery, stealth, being overwhelmed by the Avengers’ superior numbers, or in the end Tony’s snap.
The fact that four villains who were each as strong or stronger than most MCU main villains were reduced to the roles of henchmen supporting characters in IW and Endgame just goes to show how far the MCU has come, both in the heroes’ skills and numbers and the threat that villains like Thanos pose.
I know people don’t like that they were reduced to being mere henchmen, but with the sheer number of Avengers now it’s almost essential that in any team up movie there must be several powerful sub-villains in order to balance the two sides in the movie. For big team up movies the days of one powerful villain are over. There has to be powerful henchmen as well, and with that comes the fact that these side villains are often going to be underdeveloped and somewhat underused as characters.
That’s why I’m personally fine with the Black Order’s depiction. Their purpose is to be henchmen, and like the famous Bond henchman of old, henchmen don’t need to be developed characters to serve their purpose of being badasses who threaten the heroes when the main villain isn’t around.
Anybody else loved Culls weapon? I mean good God that thing is the ultimate Swiss army knife for combat. And I would very much like one.
