      Was it really common for parents to play video games with their kids? At least back then? I mean I do it with mine but I'd be dreaming if either of my parents ever tried to play my playstation back in the day. I'm a cool parent.

      @@ellisjackson3355 glad to know I'm not alone, I had a cousin that had a Nintendo I played when I visited, so I got accustomed to that and the Atari I had at first, which is where my love of gaming first grew. I think I just happened to get odd world because it was on sale and I loved it! Gaming is a great way to bond, me and my kiddo were just playing wii tonight, and I hope as the generations grow, it becomes commonplace to see grandma's and grandpa's trying to smash buttons.

    I remember my aunt telling my grandparents of this game and they ended up getting the game for me a week after. I was about 8-9 years old. I fucking loved it. This was a time when we didn't have internet so I had to find each and every single mudokon myself. I also got and played odyssey afterwards but Exodus will remain a true masterpiece in my eyes and have a special place in my heart. I'm 24 now, and honestly hope that Oddworld Soulstorm will capture me like Exodus did when I was a mere child

      I think it should stick to its generation. A new Oddworld: Abe's game would be exuberant to see release these days, but then again it will never be the same with the technology they were limited to back then and the wonders they created with it. *Please don't respond saying aww it will be better cos we got better tech! no thats exactly why it will never be the same and less potent.*

      What do you think about the Remakes? Exoddus also gets one and even with old+new areas.

    • @Mcsteveberry
      @Mcsteveberry 7 лет назад +4

      Exodus is essentially like Oddysee, cattered more for consoles. With Exodus they only had a year after Oddysee's release to get it done due to Sony's demand Oddworld Inhabitants spent day and night grinding and stressing to get the masterpiece out, and with ultimate success :). Munch's Oddysee was anticipated highly but never delivered the same immersion as the previous IP's, the 3rd person concept was irritating for the platform base game that Abe was made for. Strangers wrath on the other hand was another beautiful gem that will always have a place in my heart. I think to this day, that game did everything right with what a game should be. Thats my opinion but the scavenging for ammo, the moola, the capturing bandits, health regen and the lion sprint was so inviting and just made me fall in love with the game. Thats excluding the environment ;) going past old Yolk city just... ahh the environment :D old western vibe but delivers it in such a captivating and beguiling eye-candy experience!

    Never been a fan of games as a girl... until I discovered Abe's Oddysee thanks to my cousin. He gave it to me and I got addicted! It's so amazing! I almost forgot about it but now being 34 I found it and I still love it! And guess what, I bought Abe's Exoddus and Soulstorm, looking for some hints in your video now and then. I love the design, the soundtracks, the whole beauty of it. And Lorne Lanning the creator- wow, he's such an amazing and inspirational man! I tried playing Munch's Oddyssee or Stranger's Wrath but they're totally different, so that one hasn't drawn me in yet. My favorites will always be the three of them, the oldschool Abe's Oddyssee and Exodus and a more modern one, Soulstorm. Anyways, I became truly mesmerized by Oddworld Inhabitants.

    I just watched the whole thing and wow, such a smooth run! GG
    First time I watch this game fully, as well as the first game the other day. I actually used to hate these two games as a child (not cuz I thought they were bad, but I used to be super scared of it and every 'monster' in it, even Abe itself so I never made very far).
    I remembered about it not long ago and decided to look for a gameplay to get over that dumb fear and hey, closure! It was about time, so many years feeling like that and ngl it was super fun to watch! But it also looks very hard, so I'm fine with not playing it still haha

      Run+Direction. Then you press X on either your PlayStation pad or X on a keyboard. Pressing that button during movement will toggle you between rolling and running.

    Thanks for this, really helped out in a pinch, often confirming what I was trying to do was right, but I just wasn't quick/good enough! Must have missed loads early on as I saved about 200, but only killed 9. Might just have to try Soulstorm now, though it doesn't seem all that similar.

      On PC default keybinds (at least for the first game) it was running and then pressing X. Pressing it toggles between rolling and sprinting.

      Munch Oddysee is such a disappointment. Levels are far less beautiful, puzzles are less clever and more tedious, story is yet another "save your race from the bad industrial race" plot, tone is way too lighthearted and "silly". Just not good enough to keep the series going.

    I have so many emotions right now. This is seriously the most beautiful, well put together story ever. I can’t believe how magical it was 1:12. That part truly made me shed a tear. And especially at 6:34 that part was just so truly heart touching words can not describe the series of emotions I felt. I absolutely loved the climax it had insanely excellent detail. Oh and we can’t forget the conclusion. The conclusion was the greatest and saddest conclusion I have ever seen better than any of the books I have read. Thank you so much for creating this absolute masterpiece. This is essentially the most important masterpiece of film history. It is a tragedy that this, it can’t be called a film, but a transcendent emotional experience, will be inaccessible for most. It beautifully encapsulates the human struggle to its basics; suffering, pleasure, faith, despair. It connects with the characters within the viewers, individuals suppressed within our own subconscious. It stays vibrant, fresh, and revolutionizes the art of storytelling and filmmaking while making a damn of statement on what it means to be human. Entertaining, gripping, and simply exhilarating. This might be the most impactful piece of art I’ve come across in my life, and I’m definitely coming back to it in the near time to study it more deeply. this is an absolute masterpiece , I was brought to tears listening to this and seeing the bacon go whirly swirly in a circle countless times. it absolutely moved my soul , and I don't think I can ever be the same. this bacon has changed my entire mental state , I am now at peace with who I am and what I will be doing later in my life. my have forgiven all my enemies and now I am a man of a pacifist life. I will move on , gotta move on , as the song says. the bacon is so inspirational , it shares it vast wisdom with all of us , and we are all so lucky that it would bestow it's great words with us. we are all children on bacon. hail bacon. hail bacon. The spinning rat, rotating in one direction with this music... This made me tear up. How could such a rat do such a thing? I'm struck by awe by this masterpiece. Especially when the bacon spins, showing its lightly salt covered tan skin. I can hear the crunch just from here, and so as the beautiful sound of the bacon scraping the dark, smooth velvet floor. The flavor, music and everything can be heard, tasted, seen and felt from a screen. You can really hear the breaths between the music artist, empathizing her love for this rotating bacon. Truly what I call modern art. This was the most legendary performance by any piece of bacon I have ever watched. The acting was top tier and very life changing. This is one of the greatest work from a piece of bacon I have ever seen especially on 57:42.I am currently crying so hard right now.
