I was a Mental Health clinician for several decades & I have witnessed many people in pain greatly benefiting from listening & discussing Nick & Warren's work. Their work has lifted the fog of delusion for many......one of the biggest delusions has been that of control....we can barely influence let alone control the world; when clients realised this through discussing Nick & Warren's creations, life became more navigable. Many thanks Nick & Warren, looking forward to 11 May.
I work as a mental health peer worker in a psychiatric hospital. I have had the conversation with patients about control, and how trying to control people, places, and things can be very stressful. Recognising our powerlessness can be very freeing, and a relief. I haven't discussed it in the context of Nick and Warren's work though, but I'm going to take it down as a note. It could be useful in exploring the ideas in a group, listening to their music and discussing it. I know I have very much benefited from their work. Thank you for your comment :)

I am in awe of Nick Cave’s artistry. Nearly 20 years later, I’m still captivated by everything he does. We’re all very fortunate to have him in our lives.
I love Nick Cave's brutal honesty and ability to show vulnerability while he grows artistically. And I love all of you, for loving Nick Cave. He brings out the best in all of us.
This rings so true. When you're young you think you can shape your life in whatever you want it to be. But that makes you less flexible when something unexpected happens and more likely to be unhappy when it turns out to be impossible to reach the unrealistic goals you've set for yourself..
This man and his art have saved my life on multiple occasions.I've been a lifelong fan,and have seen him perform 15 times!A week ago, i finally got a chance to meet him,and he was a complete gentleman.I will be there on May11th !
Apart from a deep love of his music, words, craft, I think Nick is a great healer - he has given a way in to talk about grief that I had never thought possible before. Empathy and wisdom are a powerful combination. A champion of the heart.
Never heard of this person until tonight. As born again Christian I totally have always maintained to those who do not believe in God and imagine they are in control, that THEY ARE NOT IN CONTROL. Weird that Mr. Cave and I totally agree - and we are on opposite sides of the universe. Thank you.
I hope you never stop helping to guide me through this world of pain. The roads we've travelled are very different, however we stop in at the same bars, the same roadhouses and heat-addled hotel rooms in far-flung destinations... Playing the same stage a week after the Seeds fell silent and the black vans departed, onward... Just a few steps aside, which is... nice? I know you won't give in, and you can't give up. You share it all. I try to as well. If it is God's will, Nick, it is simply God's will. I may well forever be just a dot on the odious horizon. But I'm here, just a few steps aside. Stay gold.
One of the most living artists I admire a lot. Thank u Nick and to all musicians witch are working with you for bringing us closer to the meaning of this strange times. Thank u. We are grateful to have u .
Would you know my name? If I saw you in heaven Would it be the same? If I saw you in heaven I must be strong And carry on 'Cause I know I don't belong Here in heaven Would you hold my hand? If I saw you in heaven Would you help me stand? If I saw you in heaven I'll find my way Through night and day 'Cause I know I just can't stay Here in heaven Time can bring you down Time can bend your knees Time can break your heart Have you begging please Begging please Beyond the door There's peace, I'm sure And I know there'll be no more Tears in heaven Would you know my name? If I saw you in heaven Would you be the same? If I saw you in heaven I must be strong And carry on 'Cause I know I don't belong Here in heaven
Can't wait to see this! Nick's been performing for almost 50 years now - hard to think of another artist as creative, dedicated to following their muse, unflinchingly honest about sharing their experience of being human - and who still seems so fuckin' grounded and approachable! 🤩
Can't wait, booked! Love you Nick and Warren and all the seeds... your music, your writing, your honesty. No doubt I will walk out in tears again, thank you in advance for making life a little more beautiful.
Absolutely cannot wait. Once More Time With Feeling was MESMERIZING. I had to get a physical copy and it looks beautiful on my shelf. Gonna see this in theaters and add it to the collection. Hopefully we can get that live performance of Idiot Prayer - Alone at Alexandria Palace on DVD or something because I'd love to watch that again as well. Cheers Nick and to my fellow fans
I just knew this was going to be special and it was. Watched it at The Abbeygate Cinema in Bury St Edmunds, a town where Nick came for addiction treatment back in the day. Be it live, studio and now documentary format, it seems to me that whatever he is involved in is touched by something ethereal, dark, challenging but ultimately human and right. Thank you.
Nick is my hero.. I finally saw him in Asheville after two previous concerts i bought tickets for were canceled because of Covid. Keep admiring and inspiring the crowd with your Art!
Nick is also my hero. I also missed what would have been my first time seeing him because of COVID. I also finally got to see him, but in Chicago. Take care!
I have learned through life an active part of avoiding depression is being aware, avoiding the potential to stare into that void. No longer a spectator, I have come to the conclusion to live as full as possible by actively looking for that light, not just shadows
I’ve just watched the movie in a cinema in Germany. It’s amazing to see beautiful souls creating beautiful things. Thank you Nick & Warren & Andrew! 🖤🖤🖤
Been a fan since a lil' girl, rockin out to The Bday Party. Nick, Warren, geniouses or just humans who have finally found themselves, do we ever? I still get aroused by Stagger Lee and i still cry with The Ship Song.
So sad he is going threw the same hell again I wish him and his family enormous amount of strength, today we are going to his documentary and My thoughts are with them, so much pain 🤍❤
Stumbled upon this after listening to Wanted Man thanks to Bono's shout out to Nick in Surrender. Holy shit, the harmonies in this trailer! I've never listened to Nick Cave but I'm being drawn in for sure.
Hey hey my my Rock & Rock Will never die 🎵 & In this world of chaos NICK CAVE Makes it a little better am not blowing smoke l said little. . Love yeah NC&BS & Grinderman love a new Grinderman Album PRITTY PLAY SO STAY SAFE AND WELL AND STAY FREE ✌️❤️
There is a scene in which Nick talks about his Ceramic sculptures - one of which he has titled "The Devil kills his first chid". When he presents this there is palpable tension for obvious reason. But what is strange is that just before this film was released Nicks first Child died due to drug abuse (or suspected suicide, it hasn't been made public).
I discovered I was stolen from another womb, as a man. As a twin I like to think it was an act deliberately divine maybe conceptualised or was it just an evil act of the hand of man, only the Father knows, for me I am left with a putrid science that says, "you have been grafted on the tree of life, for your DNA does not match your Twin brother or the Family that raised you, so I shook my fist at the Beast in the clouds that followed me and as a man I held faith, there is a God".....(Ancient Kings in Modern Times)
Nick's allright but he's no Kylie. I think she said it best when she said La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
There is a TV Series wth Mark Ruffalo AKA The Hulk and other great actors with almost the exact same title. --> "I Know This Much Is True" watch it, its great. He is showing his true acting skills.
Got a cold shiver when the music from Ghosteen started... Can't wait to see this. I had Bad Seeds tickets but the tour got cancelled due to the pandemic and I was unable to go see Nick & Warren on this tour due to my ill health. Though I have seen Nick & Warren and the Bad Seeds many times previously. (and enjoyed every gig). I always tell people "you need to see (and listen) to Nick Cave & Warren Ellis and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, as they/he really is a force of nature". So much emotion, taking you from dark to light and back again. If you let it, his music and lyrics will fill your soul (and even give you a good laugh at times with his word play and narratives). The latest few records from Push the Sky Away to Skeleton Tree to Ghosteen to Carnage are up there with his best. Ghosteen gave me shivers (still does) such beautiful music on that album and the solo live piano at Alexandra Palace album was something exceptional (especially during such troubled times). With it's stripped down versions of tracks recorded alone in a large hall during a pandemic, during a time which saw many of us locked into isolation and alone was like a lifeline, a life preserver. That live solo piano album just speaks volumes about the times we were/are in. (Plus I've always loved the piano led songs from his catalogue anyway and so the solo piano versions of full band compositions gave me an insight into how good those songs are and how he works & writes). Nick is the best wordsmith since the likes of Tom Waits, Roger Waters or Peter Gabriel at their best. We are blessed to have such great writers among us, we are privileged to be living in the same era where we get the chance to see these artists perform.
Тоді врятуйте нас! Україна просить весь світ про допомогу. А Ви мовчите. Як прикро, як соромно. Як жаль усіх, що вже мертві через 8 місяців війни. Але врятуйте ще багатьох живих людей! Благаю!

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
I watched the movie last night in Israel. Such a touching movie of sensitive and tormented souls. An amazing and touching film.
Never heard of this person until tonight. As born again Christian I totally have always maintained to those who do not believe in God and imagine they are in control, that THEY ARE NOT IN CONTROL. Weird that Mr. Cave and I totally agree - and we are on opposite sides of the universe. Thank you.
Glimpses of Nick laughing are like night parrot sightings. Furtive, fleeting, beautiful.
Both this and the previous documentary were 10/10. Definitely watch them, they're beautiful.
Why can’t there be more people like Nick? The world would certainly be a much better place.
Sending all my love from Córdoba, Argentina to you Nick & Warren. Thanks for the light.

I just watched this while going through a heartbreak. I burst out crying. It’s all so true 🙏
As soon as The Spinning Song started playing, my throat clogged up. Ghosteen is a masterpiece. Nick Cave is a master of emotion.

Amazing
Saw Nick & Warren recently and it was utterly wonderful. Adore Dominik’s work, too. I can already tell this will be gorgeous!
I saw Nick and Warren two nights ago in Boston and it was so powerful.
I got my ticket! I'm really looking forward to this event, next best thing to seeing it live and in person.
Amazing. Real. Fabulous. Life. True. Love.
I read this book years ago, a great story.

I got an ad for this film trying to watch the trailer for the same film ...

been waiting for this to come out and ironically his son Jethro died yesterday here in Melbourne... RIP and wtf...

That's why striving for control is such a delusion. Just accept that fact, and the fear of lacking it will melt away.
what song is playing in the background?
