We are in central NC. Been fishing since I could cast. Booking a room at the jolly Roger in 3 weeks. Never pier fished. Only drum fished the sounds once. Needing all the advice I can get

NC has gotten really strict on flounder. You can only keep them from Aug. 16 through Sept. 30 this year. Most people are going to SC to fish because NC is getting ridiculous with it's regulations.

May I suggest that the next time you fish, about all pier houses have NC Saltwater Fish ID brochure, reason I say this is you had trouble IDing the pin fish.
