The reason why the younger ones see my generation going so hard like this is because we understood that people paid a price for this...if you were rapping and not waking people up in your rhymes;eventually people would catch on and not support your music...this was how it was before gangsta rapp... I remember this growing up in the bronx..rappers cared about what they said because they knew kids were watching...facts

thats because the music execs knew that violence degredation and striff paid a lot more than what these artists were trying to showcase, it's not a coincidence all their careers were cut short after this came out.

Hip hop was so great because the 70’s set the bar for the 80’s, 80’s for the 90’s. I remember when a lot of people hated hip hop now they playing the music in their commercials. Great job hip hop artists!

Peace to you brothers for showcasing a positive father & son relationship in your videos. Respect.
Now, a little jewel for you guys: Doug E. Fresh's part of the video is special because prior to this song, Marley Marl and Kool DJ Red Alert were beefing. Those two ICONS came together in that part of the video to show peace, unity, and strength as Black brothers.

This was the reason hip hop is full of guns, drugs, sex and murder. 80s Hip Hop wasn’t glorifying such things. It’s wasn’t till NWA that glorified guns and gangs hit the air waves. Think I’m lying? Do some research watch Hip Hop Evolution on Netflix. This documentary brought back memories for me but it’ll educate this generation.
You should react to the following....
    Whodini
    Slick Rick
    MC LYTE
    Stetsasonic
    De La Soul
    Salt N Pepa
    Roxanne Shante
