Purchased: August 2022 - still works GREAT! ruclips.net/user/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn I live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment.I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!
I also have this LG portable AC unit. It was a definite lifesaver when the AC unit in my small apartment went out. Didn't mind the noise when I was trying to sleep because it was just white noise to me in my thinking. Still have it and plan to use it in years to come. I did not find any problems cleaning and maintaining my AC unit. I would purchase the LG AC again
They sold my building recently so i had to move in with the grandparents, i wasn’t going to inconvenience them buy making them cold so i bought this thing works great for my space i took over the whole upstairs ( 4 bedrooms ) now me n the grandparents are both happy
Its loud because all portable units have everything shoved into one unit, of course its loud. Why is it everyone that complains about a/c is thats its loud......seriously. Do you expect it to be the a/c in your work office? Those are loud too.
Hello ty for your time to show us i had a problem similar to your's i have a grey unit and had problems draining i hooked up clear tubing up and out the window
If the look and sound gets to you then put it in a room you don’t use. If it really cools the entire space then you don’t need to worry where ya put it.
I recently purchased LG portable 8,000 BTU. The same model as yours. I’m getting a lot of leakage and it didn’t come with the hose. I did purchased hose from home depot but it’s still not holding the leak. I live in Chicago. Is pretty hot and humid. I turned my on AC High.
Do you notice any heat coming from the part if the hose that goes outside. I have the same one in black. Can't seem to keep it together onto my window.
You gotta hold the button for three seconds. If you cleaned the filter and the light doesn't go off at all, no worries, just keep the filter clean. The indicator light won't work. That's all it is...to tell when to clean the filter.
I bought the same model in 2019 and it stopped functioning last summer 2021. Called LG and they told me it was the control board ( they were aware of the problem) and would not repair it. I would NOT buy this unit, beware. I bought a Black and Decker and hoping I have better luck.
LG only offers a 1 year warranty. You have to purchase the extra 2 years that would’ve covered any repairs. Mine last less than a year. I’m going to get them to repair it, but plan to sell it. I bought the latest version which is 100 times better. No water leaking and it seems to cool much better than the other dual converter model.
I just got one. The hose gets sooo hot!!! I'm super worried it will start a fire. I live in a 5th wheel. Will thia cause a fire. It's about 107 degrees where I live

HI, I'm not sure if you're still on this AC thread ....did you ever find out the reason for the fan shutting off in the middle of the night? ..its (9/27/22) ive had this unit for about 7 weeks and ive noticed that a few times a week in the middle of the night..usually 3-5am the unit fan shuts off after the compressor reaches the desired temp .The unit is still powered on as the green lights still show the setting its in . I know once the unit reaches the set cool temp and the compressor shuts off the fan is still supposed to remain on . I called LG customer service today and they were useless and could not answer my concern . the woman basically read from a company product script ...thanks, John

@@BabyGangsterIsMe thats too much work, especially if im asleep, it'll just keep running and get really cold...if i turn it off manually then it'll get hot really fast. A normal AC supposed to stop when it reaches set temp then starts again when room temp goes above it.
ok, mine is doing the same and i’m getting conflicting information from lg. one rep says when it reaches desired temp, the fan will continue to blow (without cooling) then cool air will resume when the room gets hot again. one rep said it should turn off after 15-20 min after reaching desired temp. no idea which is right…
Hi I have a 14000 btu portable AC I set it to 24 degrees but the compressor, doesn't cycle on and off it ran continously the room is cold, what could be the problem?
I have a LG 10,000 btu like this and it doesn't keep a small bedroom cool as it blows cold when it kicks in but stays off to long room is 79 ac set on 72 so gonna do away with this and get a actual window AC unit.
It’s really not that loud. Like in comparison to what? People who complain about white noise which our brains literally auto tune out without any effort is funny. It’s a great unit and it’s sleek and sharp looking. “Another piece of furniture” Lol, well yeah! 🤣 Your complaints or rather your review was hilarious. I honestly thought this was a review for entertainment purposes and not a real review. Idk how you can cool down an 800 square foot place without a large unit. 😂 and that unit is going to sound like an AC! 😆😆💀
I have two different model LG portable air conditioners for two years now and they are both busted. Garbage quality. Warrant won't cover them. Customer service has been a nightmare. AVOID LG A/C's!

What’s the hose for?
The hose exhausts the hot air…
Anyone having an issue with the dehumidifier not working?
No condensation even comes out of the hose
From my understanding you will only have to use the hose if you live in a high humidity environment. Around 70-80%
Is this cold? I got a Whynter 14,000 BTU and that was a god damn piece of shit.
I moved the back tube and it went away the loud noise
