So, how did she like it? 😁 And I don't know how it's possible to have these healthy looking, beautiful curls for someone who straightens her hair twice a week, but her curls are amazing, and they suit her perfectly, she looks really good 😁
On the journey. It helps that I am not starting of with really damaged hair. But I’m one of those people that have only seen ringlets around hair line and the rest of my hair would dry naturally pretty straight or a slight wavy and no frizz so I never would have guessed I have curly hair. But one day like half of my hair curled. So I decided to use a gel and scrunch it and now I have so many products and a lot more curl
Wonderful to see the curls. So many of us never let our curls show. I really never thought of myself as curly. I'm just starting this method, so who knows where it's going. Mostly it's curly when I first do it and by the time it dries, it's wavy. I'll take wavy, too, but eventually would like to acquire a diffuser, so I can try to dry the curls in. Thanks for the video.
Going heat free isn’t what makes the frizz go away. Applying product to the curl while wet and ensuing that it has fully “ribboned” (no spiderwebbing) diffusing gently at the root and then Not touching the curl while it’s forming a cast, finally knowing how to scrunch the cast without causing the curl to frizz, is the only way.
This is the correct way to do curly hair, a leave in, and a styler, I see so many girls use too much products all the time, and not apply the products right
Awesome demonstration! I love that you are in Canada. I have the Cantu activator but it never worked for me. I am going to pick up the curling custard to see if it makes a difference and I NEED that Xtava Black Orchid diffuser. Good to know that they ship to Canada.:)
The xtava is amazing! I’ve been using the Blueberry Bliss Reparative Leave In, it’s much lighter than the Cantu Curl Activator Cream. I’ve been pairing it with the kinky curly custard (compatible to the cantu custard). That combo is 👌👌. Beauty Supply Warehouse sells them
Thank you so much for the tips I have been struggling to find new products for my curly hair because it's been months that I haven't been able to find the products that I usually use
Very excited that I stumbled across ur channel!! It's hard to find youtubers that strictly follow the CG method and have hair pattern similar to mine!!
😲😲 so happy to found you on RUclips - i follow your insta account 😉 and love your pics. I‘m quite new to the curlygirl method (2 months now) and I realy need such videos 💞😍👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👌🏻 thank you for doing this
whoa. please come do my hair lmaoo i'm struggling 😩 just one day and her hair looks so good and curly and defined. i've been months and my hair is still a frizzy mess with almost no curl definition!
I just found your Channel and wow what an amazing job you both are so very beautiful and wondering where did you purchase your diffusers? I have never used one and definitely would like to see how my hair will turn out using your method!♡♡♡
Wow I am totally amazed how your hair goes from a little wavy to a full head of beautiful curls. I wish my hair would do that. I have thick hair with a little wavy in it. I tried to get it curly like hers with nym curling gel, Cantu curl define cream and nym beach wavy spray and a discusses and I just get a little wave. What am I doing wrong? Maybe because my hair is heavy don’t know.
Hey that looks great! But how do you maintain these curls overnight? I find that when i sleep on them the next morning they are just a mess and thats why I often straighten it (which i used to do all the time.. and I am sort of transitioning now). My hair is just over my shoulders (so its not exactly long but I am growing it out). Any recommendations?
To protect your hair through the night, most curly girls will sleep with it in either a silk/satin bonnet, tied up in a silk/satin scarf, or in a super loose "pineapple" (like a really loose ponytail with a scrunchie, but you only wrap it around your hair once) on a silk/satin pillowcase. Then, in the morning, you take it down and "refresh" your curls, normally by gently spraying them with water & then gently scrunching in a little tiny bit of your favourite styling products. (seriously: a tiny bit. You don't need much to refresh) I hope that helps! If it doesn't, a lot of youtubers have videos on how to preserve/refresh curls overnight.
I found Medusa clipping worked better for me than pineappling. An elasitc in my hair screwed up my curls just as much as sleeping directly on them. Or I use those 90s spiky stretchy headbands and use them as a loose elastic in addition to the Medusa clipping. Works well for me
Hi I don’t know if you will reply cause this was like 10 months ago. But how is your hair 10 months later is it more defined please let me know. Can u also give me some starting tips I am just transitioning and starting. Product recommendation etc please xx
I have a method....take a shower brush out knots..put in a little conditioner starting from the middle section to the ends and then smooth the top...and here is the trick...go lay down in bed...lay your hair on a pillow all around you..make sure it is over your head on pillow to give lift at crown...after dry I sometimes add serum if it’s frizzy at all
I noticed that you "fixed" your xtava diffuser for your hair dryer. Would you mind sharing how you did it? I have a problem right now because my diffuser doesn't fit any of my dryers
@@curlynfab5120 Thank you so much for replying!!! That gives me some hope for my curls. They seem to be 3A after the shower but quickly flatten out over the day. Your hair is goooorgeous.
What type of blowdryer did you use that both the DevaFuser and Blk Orchid Diffuser work on same dryer... If anyone knows please give me a reply. Thanks so much Kimmy Jackson
It's my third time watching lol. Watching while I try this technique but I have different products so they will have to work till I can go get these ones.
I am addressing this on the RUclipsr that does this channel. Could you pls tell what type of curls yours are? I am looking for something affordable that I can use that will bring out my naturally curls that are a mix of 2c/3a. In the recent years it has thinned a bit too. I don’t color it and hardly dry it because my hair dryer broke lol but I would love to do something like a few times a week and then just do touch ups during the week. I started the curly hair method abt 4 yrs ago and love it but I usually do everything with my hair ripped upside down. I plop my hair like that too. The top of my hair can be straighter and like weighed down a bit or so it loooks. Would you please be able to help me get my style and confidence back. Been going thru medical issues and would really look to feel pretty again.
I’m 2c/3A too! I like light leave-in creams like Curls Blueberry Bliss or Kinky Curly’s Knot Today. I always top with kinky curly’s Curling Custard. It is a hard hold gel, but it scrunches out softly. You can try finger curling the top layer to encourage curls up there too☺️
Love the vid! I was just wondering about the xtava diffuser - I just got it for Christmas but it won't stay on my hairdryer so I was going to try taping it on....and I see that's what you've done! Does it work well like that?
Her hair looks amazing! I need you to come to New Jersey and live with me 🤔 question- is it ok to wet plop over night with bonnet and scrunch out cast next morning? I see alot of people wet plopping and just wondered what you thought..I love your hair and your videos so I figure get your advice🙃
I read a lot of people do that. I tried it and the hair refused to dry the whole night long. But I might try it again and try to sleep a little longer haha.
Thank you so much for the response!! I bought the xtava and was so sad because it didn’t fit my blow dryer. 😢 Guess I’m going to have to get a new dryer! 😝 btw...love love love your hair! 💖😍💖
Don't buy new dryer. Go to hardware store and buy plumbing coupler. Beverly HelloCurlsSalon has a video about it. I would take dryer and diffuser with you because one she showed did not work for me.

The Cantu mousse might actually work really well for her. Also just the curling cream can be enough. I have curly, coily fine hair and can use just the activator and get great results.

Dear lord, that's day one hair, imagine what a hair trim and a couple of months of the method will do to those perfect ringlets 😍

Such a pretty girl. Hopefully she’s wearing her hair curly now.
I am heat free for almost 5 years and my hair is not defined as hers wtf 😂😂
same with my hair, not sure if damaged or this is its natural state
Nada Nagy because you don’t have curly hair
Nada Nagy because not all curls are defined. No matter what you do.

It was just electrical tape. I bought a Conair infinity pro and it fits the xtava
So what did she think of the result, and is she going to keep going with it?
She loved it! But hasn’t stuck with curly girl Method just yet. She ordered the diffusers and is waiting on them☺️
Hopefully she sticks to the curls! They are beautiful and so much healthier for her hair!
Is there an update on if Avni (apologies if spelling is wrong) decided to go CGM after this? Would love to see the now version of her hair!
She is still straightening her hair periodically 🥺😩
Her hair is amazing for always straightening it. Nice job. What heat did you use to dry? Thx
I can’t believe that it curls at all!! It has resilience for sure :D. I used the lowest setting for heat and air flow
I thought you’d fluff it out at the end for volume. Nice results tho.
You mention training your curls -- did your hair curl less than it does now when you first started the Curly Girl method?
Absolutely! I had loose beach waves, my hair didn’t know what a ringlet was! I saw changes within 3 months with tighter, more formed curls
