    Fezandipti's story mentions it was once a drab and shabby bird Pokémon, male unfezant are already renowned for beautiful feathers alongside it's striking mask. The particular words used in Fezandipti's story suggest it was a Pokémon that we haven't seen yet or would not assume these adjectives apply to.

      If male unfezant are renowned for their beautiful feathers that would reinforce it being an unfezant if it was a rare instance of an unfezant with ugly feathers

    I think the pokemon ARE found in Kitakami. I think the narrative from the past was made to be unreliable and showing the ignorance of the town people who saw pokemon that did not look like the others.
    The common link for these original pokemon is that they were "less" and wanted to become "more"
    This can be said about any base form pokemon with an evolutionary line.
    Poochyena definitely makes sense for Okidogi.
    Mankey makes sense for Munkidori.
    Vullaby makes sense for Fezandipiti.
    Ignoring the poison types for a moment, the secondary type is super effective against the base forms (fighting SE against Poochyena, psychic strong against Mankey, and fairy is strong against Vullaby).
    Like you said, Poochyena is considered weak. In the same way Mankey's line is really about the conflict between brains and brawns, so formally being a fighting type would make sense for this change. And the Vullaby line can be described as the unremarkable sight of birds, not fully hatched in a diaper eggshell, as well it does not have a complete covering of feathers and has bald patches. Its evolved form is a vulture / turkey, which are two birds not at all renowned for beauty.
    I think these base forms mean the most when thinking of transformation, the backgrounds of these pokemon, and the unreliability of traditional tales.

    I think that The Loyal Three can still be called that after the myth has been corrected. They're not loyal to Mossui, they're loyal to Dokutaro for granting their wishes and lending them it's power to make them more than what they were. That or they're loyal to it against their will. If you look carefully during the cutscene where they show the bottom half of Dokutaro, when it says the masks attracted more than just innocent curiosity, you'll notice that Dokutaro quickly appears first, apart from the other three. It probably heard stories about the infamous masks, then lent it's power to the loyal three, and tricked them into stealing the masks with the intentions of betraying them afterwards and leaving them for dead. Maybe the poison power tainted them and made them greedy, covetous, power-hungry (like Dokutaro) and easy to manipulate (like a puppet or a "zombie") and Dokutaro used them to do it's dirty work. Maybe the same will happen to Kieran.

      They still could be called Loyal three anyway, because once you catch them after one on one battles,(one trainer to one wild Pokémon) they recognise your ability and become LOYAL to you, your guidance keeping them out of trouble.

    Given it's expected capabilities Dokutaro is more of a forbidden fruit Pokémon than a peach Pokémon. Anyone else notice how Kieran displays seemingly impossible abilities in teal mask, his own grandfather mentions that his understanding of ogerpon's feelings is like he was there and he has seemingly always had this level of intuition. His emotions also effect reality around him, his rage and anguish resurrected the loyal three. He even does his hair up like momotaro at the end of the Dlc. Maybe Kieran isn't possessed by Dokutaro but is instead Dokutaro living as a human after all the boy and the Pokémon share both the same eye colour and doleful basic expression on their face.

    • @mrsnakehead1576
      @mrsnakehead1576 Год назад

      While I don't believe that will happen because I personally don't think Pokémon is prepared to make a character that is both human and Pokémon, I *ADORE* that idea.

    • @AloneTheorist
      @AloneTheorist Год назад +1

      @@mrsnakehead1576 Tbh I was just guessing about Kieran and Dokutaro being the same entity, though recent leaks about Indigo Disk, all but put this possibility to bed. Kieran is going to comeback multiple times and in different forms all of which are human. Meaning he's just being puppet mastered, so it's more likely that Dokutaro has formed some kind of Symbiosis with the boy and we have to break that bond in order to catch Dokutaro. That said Dokutaro sounds more like a venom character than a Pokémon now with it's toxic chains forming symbiotic bonds to other entities in order to grant exceptional abilities. But that said my idea of it being a forbidden fruit Pokémon still stands as it is tempting others down potentially dark paths in order to gain exceptional abilities.

    The loyal three story mentions that the greedy trio came to kitakami at the behest of someone greedy who coveted ogerpon's masks this explains their titles as retainer Pokémon. Also this states that they came from a single region, maybe paldea as paldea's greedy king was given a lot of 'treasures' this did include some Pokémon, the ruinous quartet and gimmighoul for example. Also the trio's hidden abilities may suggest alternatives on their original forms okidogi for example has guard dog as it's hidden ability which puts it more in line with a mabostiff.

    There could be a brazil/Amazon basin region. The basin has so many birds of paradise. So the 3 original mons (of the loyal 3) could have a regional form like the Galarian/kantonian birds. It would be cool to see in the new region a bunch of non toxic chained fezandipiti/okidogi/munkidori.

      I mean, the fourth legendary *is* in Teal Mask, we see it in the story of Ogerpon as the first silhouette to arrive followed by the loyal three, there's a stuffed version of it at the shop, and the festival lanterns match the typings of the loyal three and Ogerpon along with a ghost-type emblem, which would represent the trio leader

    I've been thinking about how there's a "similar" pokemon to all of the loyal 3 in Kitakami. Okidogi looks like houndour, since they're both similar to dobermann dogs. Then there's fezandipiti who looks similar to bombirdier, being a black and white bird with fancy "eye makeup", and lastly munkidori... well aipom is a monkey at least lol. And for the last as of yet unrevealed one that appears to possibly just be a floating ball.... there's gastly! They're not perfect matches so it's probably just me, but I still think it's a fun comparison.

    My theory is the Loyal Three used to be a Lucario who lost someone they cared about so it wished for strength so they could protect their remaining loved ones, a Pansage who wished to be smarter to outwit those who would harm those it cared about, and a Tranquil who was tricked into eating an everstone but after meeting the Lucario and Pansage it wished for beauty hoping it could finally evolve. The toxic chain warped their wishes until they became what they are.

      Very interesting. I think the possibility of the loyal three all being from completely different regions is just as valid as all three of them being from one single region. And as you said, they could also still be a region that we have not seen yet... but they could also be from different regions and one or two those regions could potentially be regions that we haven't seen yet. What I mean by this is what if Munkidori and Fezandipiti were in fact originally Thwackey and Tranquill, but Okidogi was a pokemon that we will meet later in the future? Perhaps Fezandipiti was actually a bird pokemon that has yet to be introduced or is a regional/convergent form of a bird pokemon that is even uglier as while Tranquill is not as pretty as it's evolution, there could be a pokemon even uglier that will be introduced when Gen 10 comes around.
      Just some extra thoughts that could add to what you have said in this theory 😀
