I’d say they are: Gen 1: Can’t remember Gen 2: What’s its name again? Gen 3: Its the little one Gen 4: I forgot Gen 5: I’m not sure Gen 6: My mind is blank Gen 7: The big one Gen 8: The one in the wild area Gen 9: The one in area zero
I'd argue Seaking is far more forgettable than Tangela. Tangela at least sometimes pops up in Erika's gym while I can't even recall a major game event where Seaking is used.
"No prominent trainer uses Helioptile" the Clemont shade damn. This video has taught me that I'd be living in an entirely different universe if I had no basic competitive knowledge.
Not to mention that Helioptile was one of the first Gen 6 Pokémon revealed and was used in the anime, by Alexa I think (who is Viola's sister, so kinda prominent).
Sporcle has a Name Every Pokemon quiz for each generation, the least remembered of each generation are: Gen 1 - Lickitung (Tangela is 8th least memorable) Gen 2 - Qwilfish (Mantine is 19th) Gen 3 - Chimecho (Luvdisc is 16th) Gen 4 - Mantyke (Chingling is 4th) Gen 5 - Beheeyem Gen 6 - Binacle (the Helios are 23rd/24th) Gen 7 - Morelull (Comfey is 9th) Gen 8 - Pincurchin Gen 9 - Bramblin (Rellor is 5th)
The quizzes are pretty old at this point, some going back to 2008, but I think the only one very likely to change if they were to be restarted fresh would be swapping out Gen II's Qwilfish for Shuckle.
Lickitung is actually very surprising to me. The design is quite memorable, and didn't it have a role in the anime for a time? I can see Lickiliky being more forgettable than Lickitung; maybe that's part of the reason.
This right here, this is the only reason i can’t and won’t forget about those lil alien guys, I remember that episode after all these years 🤣 Ill never forget those two being gen 5
Right. Don't crucify me for this, but I don't like the pokemon anime. It's just not for me, and I especially dislike the black and white anime. But beheeyem is actually my favorite pokemon, and it's so good it even made at least one episode of the anime tolerable for me by being savage and having a Yoda voice.
I'd like to see statistics comparisons between people who consume different Pokémon media, opinions must be very different from people who just play the games, just the TCG, or just watch the anime, or two/all of them.
I am here as the Pincurchin defender! The little guy is so silly I LOVE HIM. Ive always been a huge fan of sea urchins so I immediately clicked with this little guy! I think he is so painfully underrated little guy ever and deserves more love. He is just a little guy, and my love for him got even stronger with the pocket TCG, he CARRIES my electric type teams! Justice for Pincurchin!!
I literally have to say the same thing. Especially after my profound love for Pyukumuku, it just feels wrong to leave Pincurchin aside. Heck, it's actually in my team in SV right now. And also as you said, thanks to Pocket TCG, Pincurchin becomes more relevant due to being an actually useful basic Pokemon for Pikachu ex.
A lot of people use Smogen as the defacto authority on competitive pokemon when it's not even officially sanctioned by Nintendo. unlike VGC. the two formats are super different and most people focus on the singles that Smogen offers, probably because double battles are a lot more complicated which means some pokemon that wouldn't be viable in Smogen's tournaments, would actually be viable in doubles due to synergy with other pokemon. Honestly surprised Nintendo hasn't shut Smogen down considering they went after Smash competitive for simply being created by fans. And you know they COULD. I mean, ever since Iwata passed and the new CEO took over, Nintendo's been sending lawyers at anything that moves. the new CEO seems to hate gamers and fans of their games. If they did shut Smogen down, Fans would be outraged but Nintendo would pretty much tell them "tough titties" and ignore them. Because that's how much they care about you. it's like a certain dude said "Don't ask questions. Just consume product and get excited for next product" which is Nintendo to a T.
I dunno, I remember Seel more than Tangela because it's the common counter for genwunner arguments outside the object mons lol 'Pokemon are running out of ideas!' 'Let me introduce you to a seal called Seel'
Definitely. Kalos was so ez to me. All Pokemon battles so ez. But once I reached Clemont... It took me 6 hours TO BEAT HIS HELIOLISK!!!!!!.......................
@@MewMichaiah I remember him from Kalos Gym Leader and also his unique design, I mean: I always remember Items/non-living things designs, and iceberg (or ice floe) is really not living thing. I love Pokemons based on non-living things. Stakataka the best! ♥
Beeheyem is kinda memorable because of how disturbing its Dex entries are. He can completely rewrite people's memories (so I guess he's literally forgettable in-game?), and one of the games implied that you, the gamer, might have had key memories rewritten by Beeheyem. You know which mon is REALLY forgettable from Gen 5? Ducklett and Swanna. They're just ordinary waterfowl and are complete bootycheeks in battle. Edit: Apparently Bouffalant exists. He's literally a clone of Tauros, and you encounter him so late in the game that nobody even remembers him.
I genuinely don't remember a single Beheeyem Pokedex line, so they are likely not popular as you think they are. It's one of the dozen new Psychic types, but Beheeyem line is the least used and least popular, especially as it's hard to find and it's not really that strong. The only actual relevant point it gets is the mix-up with TMs, that gave it Steel Wing.
Luvdisc is: Used on both Juan and Wallace's gym teams The only way to get heartscales The pokemon everyone knows alomomola is poorly imitating Alternative, consider spoink and grumpig. Both are only found only in jagged pass (which barely has any grass in the first place) and neither appear on a major trainer's team. They aren't special like fossil or event pokemon or pokemon hidden in an area you have to work to find, meaning you might see one and then never think of it again, or alternatively may never see one through all of your gen 3 playthrough. Similar phenomena have lead people to occasionally think of something like skarmory as being from gen 3, as it appeared so infrequently in it's home region.
Tbh Spoink will never be forgotten due to the whole 'it dies if it stops bouncing' thing. By association, Grumpig is less likely to be forgotten, but that's with the assumption that people even remember that Spoink evolves into Grumpig at all 😅
How can you say Alomomola is most forgettable? Man it spoiled you name of the Gen VII in gen V already... Such a big case! And you forget this Pokemon???? After all what he did for us???????? You know how hard to is, spoil anything??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? HOW MUCH IQ YOU HAVE? MORE FORGETTABLE THAN HIM ARE YOU! FOOL! (Take those offends with humour please, because i dont mean it.)
I would put my dollar bet that the true forgotten pokemon of gen 2 is Slugma. Everyone I speak to about gen 2 pokedex is convinced that Slugma was introduced in gen 3. Mantine and skarmory are up there but there's 50/50 chance it's gotten right because they are connected to each other. Slugma on other hand is weak, forgotten and rare for some reason.
Not gonna lie I never understood the confusion. Especially as that's exactly a big reason to remember how it's in gen 2. One of the few fire types in generation and a one that gets prominent space in all later games.
@@Infindox Growlithe and Vulpix are relatively easy to get in that gen. Same with other mons like Magby and Flareon. Doesn't change a fact that at this point - most people should know it. It was a big meme few years ago.
@@mjm3091Houndour is also accessible by the time you get to a route where Slugma is encounterable, and you’ll value the dual fire and dark type more than the fire and rock type you eventually get with Magcargo.
Beeheyem's most notable trait was that it could learn Steel Wing in Gen 6 for no reason, other than (presumably) Game Freak completely forgot about it and thus didn't update its TM compatibility. That, and "I'm afraid idiots are hard to mind control," but Beeheyem itself is completely irrelevant to the scene's fame.
Some of the Gen 2 Pokémon’s places in Hoenn almost feel apologetic. Especially the ones on important trainer teams or other significant mentions like Corsola.
There’s another category: Pokémon that people don’t realise are from the generation they are from. For example, many people are surprised to learn that Slugma and Skarmory were introduced already in gen 2 and not gen 3, because in the former, you’d hardly ever encounter them.
For Gen III I'd argue it's Masquerain. I know it's part of an evolution family, but it went from a kind of cute pond skater with water/bug typing to another generic bug/flying. And what's more you couldn't even catch it in Emerald. Who ever used this Pokémon, even Luvdisc had a purpose back in Gen III and is remembered today, for being the worst water type in gen III.
6:27 I could never forget cryogonal. They gave it attract. It's genderless, so it will always fail. Also, it's just a crying snowflake. Makes me laugh every time I remember that.
Pokemon like chimeco make me wish they could do more with "worldbuilding mons" in the main games. Chimeco is based on japanese traditional funeral chimes. They only exist to fill the graveyard area ingame. I wish there could be like a "micro" version of the interactions pokemons have with the world in Snap in the maingames. Alot of mons are like that for me. Love the design and concept, but in gameplay the best purpose they serve is being "spin off filler" .
These sorts of Pokémon are excellent for creating NPCs in a Mystery Dungeon game, but unfortunately, it seems we will not have any real luck in getting a new Mystery Dungeon any time soon.
5:43 Pokemon Mystery Dungeon came to mind when I hear "Chatot" 6:29 I can't say Maractus is forgettable when I know there is a lot of suggestive art of that Pokemon. 11:27 Rellor has haters. Rabsca is pretty cool, like Elegyem. I'd say Squakibly or whatever the name of that bird is forgettable.
@@noahberan6498 tbf I forgot that parrot even existed - I even know Rabsca exists cuz of the DLC where they added Rellor and Rabsca in the terrarium. The only times I rember the parrot is... never cuz I'm stoopid.
5:03 kinda interesting fact about Chimecho: not counting the different Unowm forms, Chimecho is the last Pokemon by index number in generation 3, being right after Deoxys, suggesting it being a late addition that they threw in at the last minute.
I disagree. Klingklang is brought up in the same conversation as Garbodor, when people complain about object mon. It's one of the most complained about pokemon in the franchise.
He's not forgettable at all. I beat every Pokemon game. So easily.! Because they was all too noob for me. But once I reached out Clemont... In X/Y... And his Heliolisk... AND I CANNOT BEAT HIM FOR 6 HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...........................
There are too many Pokémon that I think a lot of them after Gen 7 will be forgotten by the wayside, except for the starter Pokémon, the Legendary Pokémon, and other unusual Pokémon, like the Paradox Pokémon and the Ultra Beasts, or Pokémon associated with a gimmick, like the Applin line, or the ecologically similar Pokémon, or the ones that feature prominently in the anime.
i like skarmory, and I feel unlike, say, Tropius, it stands it's ground as a no evolution pokemon. BUT just like Onix, I think a pre-evolution or even a baby pokemon would be awesome.
I'd say Brambleghast is the most forgettable Gen 9 Pokémon. Like I'm willing to bet most people don't even know that Bramblin even evolves since it's evolution isn't caused by leveling up. Brambleghast also looks very similar to Bramblin.
Comfey is very usable in VGC because of its ability giving it priority healing, so I think about it a lot. Indeedee gets Psychic Surge and is absolutely everywhere in VGC as well. Pincurchin is the only non-legendary who gets Electric Surge so it’s tough to forget if you’re running an Elec Terrain team, and Rabsca gets Telepathy and the Revival Blessing move! it’s interesting how being in different parts of the Pokémon community informs what’s considered forgettable!
Golem was the most forgotten Pokemon in gen 1 as there was no trainer that used one in red or blue and it wasn’t catchable in Kanto either so you had to trade a Graveler in order to get one.
I actually somewhat agree, trade evolutions still suck but they were BRUTAL in the gameboy titles with the link cables and whatnot. HOWEVER Golem had a relevant role in the anime, being one of Brocks Pokemon and I think the bs way of obtaining it made it more memorable, like the fact that you COULDNT get it created some kind of Streissand effect that made me pay more attention to its existence
Extremely hot take to claim that any of the og trade evos are forgettable. No one forgets the pain in the butt that is needing friends to evolve your pokemon. That alone makes golem memorable. It is also featured a lot in the anime
Luvdisc doesn't belong here, since it's basically the poster child for "tragically weak" Pokemon. Hoenn has a lot of options. I'd give it moreso to Pokemon like Masquerain (abandons what could have been a unique typing to be another winged butterfly / moth creature), Illumise (weak, but not overwhelmingly so, and doesn't have Tail Glow like Volbeat to make up for it), Grumpig (Everyone remembers Spoink and its tendency to drop dead. Grumpig carries very little on from that and it's not entirely clear what its theme is supposed to be), and Chimecho (with how common Chingling is in Gen 4 being the only saving grace it has.) I'm inclined to give it to Masquerain
The most forgettable Gen 8 Pokémon is Clobbopus. I had no idea it existed and fully believed Grapploct was a single-stage Pokémon up until I saw it in Fawful's Minion's Top Ten Generation 8 Pokémon video.
Every time I saw the anime bring up cherubi I went "oh right, that thing exists". I would say it's my pick but here's the thing: try as I might I can't ever remember what it evolves into. I know it evolves but nothing else. So that's my pick for gen 4 - the whateveritscalled that evolves from the cherry with a face.
Heliolisk was one of the first gen 6 pokémon revealed (THE first, if I'm remebering correctly). It showed up in the anime while they were still in gen 5.
For some reason I see 0 people talk about Munna and Musharna seeing them as a favorite or at least noteworthy. And the worst part about it is that Gamefreak tried to make them memorable. Not only is it Bianca’s signature Pokémon, not only is it in the elite four. But it’s also a mascot for not just the Pokémon dreamworld game but the dreamworld as a whole. They really tried making them an icon of Unova and it failed miserably. I’ve been scurrying around the internet trying to find people that can consider Munna and Musharna noteworthy but to no avale. Us Munna fans are really starving for a sense of community, and it’s sad it’s like that. Yeesh that was a yap session.
Add to it that Munna is usually brought up in trivia/fun facts due to that gen I NPC saying they wish there was a pink pokemon with a floral pattern, and how years later it materialized in Munna. Still not a fan favorite though.
their problem is that theyre basically the hypno line pure psychic sleep tapirs, and hypnos reputation is so high its hard for them to stand out, i think if you asked anyone theyll say they prefer munna over hypno, but being liked and being remembered is different
@@julien827 yeah but while they’re concepts are similar their execution differs a lot. So I wouldn’t consider that as a good argument. And it’s been shown that being an alt of a different Pokémon isn’t the end of the world. Take a look at drillbur and Excadrill they are more liked than the Diglett line and are on the more memorable side of unovan Pokémon.
Pineco has to be the most forgettable from Gen 2. For the longest time I never made the connection between it and its evolution, Forretress. And you can't even encounter it unless you use headbutt on a tree in the Ilex Forest. And headbutt isn't even an HM.
7:01 I happen to have a list of Pokémon that can kill or brainwash or do other crimes for the sake of making teams for characters from other franchises and that line shows up in so many of my teams (I only have a Pokémon appear once a series but they have appeared for EVERY SERIES I’VE DONE TEAMS FOR.)
Pincurchin is easily memorable for anyone who needs Electric Surge when Tapu Koko is unavailable. Tapu Koko not appearing at all in gen 9 made it shoot up in relevancy with future Paradox Pokémon. It also can set up Spikes, Toxic Spikes and has access to Pain Split. It may not be my favorite Pokémon of all, but it definitely is the first thing I think of with the subject of a future Paradox team. Being a top pick Pokémon for an entire style of team definitely accounts for something.
I absolutely love Elgyem and Beheeyem. I could never forgot about them. The Steel Wing fun fact alone makes it hard to forget. Not my favorite but at least in my top 10 Unova/Psychic mons. I’d say Heliolisk is pretty memorable as Clemont’s ace (it not being on his team for most of the anime doesn’t help though). Maybe it’s because of Masters and me just liking Electric types. Not sure who I’d put in their place though. Gen 6’s small dex makes it easy to remember Rabsca’s line is pretty cool. I like Rellor being roller backwards like Rotom/motor and the dumb face it has is weirdly charming. Rabsca is pretty cool despite being overshadowed as a walking evo with Revival Blessing by Pawmot though (doesn’t help it’s the ace of the first and best character you meet). While I don’t agree, I’ve heard people say Bramblin’s line is the most forgettable (coincidentally also a Pokemon who walks by evolving)
Probably the best supporter in Unite next to Clefable and Psyduck. Makes every all-arounder annoying as hell (and even some attackers), making them unkillable. Comfey is waaaay unforgettable for me lol
As a sucker for desert-themed locations and designs, I was actually ecstatic to have Pokemon based on a tumbleweed and a scarab beetle. I definitely understand how Rellor and Bramblin are completely ignored though.
It's very validating to have Tangela listed as a forgettable Pokemon- last week, my fiancee had me take a quiz to list the original 151 (or as many as I could in 15 minutes). Of the 4 that I couldn't remember, Tangela was one of them (Krabby and Kingler were two others I hadn't remembered that I would agree are also forgettable). Anyway, great video! :D
Pincurchin definitely isn't the most forgettable mon, having Electric Terrain saves it by making it somewhat memorable in competitive. Meanwhile the literal only thing Stonjourner has going for it is being exclusive to the UK in GO. Anyways, hi, i'm the guy who's favourite is Beheeyem. I really like aliens, and these guys really hit the nail on the head in the way the basic alien picks like Deoxys and Clefairy can't. Plus they just look really cool and are fun to use. I even used my Master Ball on one in Sword because i thought it would be cool.
Actually, Stonjourner is also exclusive to Sword and Scarlet, with its counterpart Eiscue being exclusive to Shield in Violet. Saying Stonjourner is the most forgettable is like saying Solrock is the most forgettable.
@ArendAlphaEagle because obviously making it so half of the playerbase will never find one is going to give people so many good memories about it In Shield i don't think there's a single way to even get it registered as seen in your Dex so any Shield players won't know it exists at all
Gen 1: I can see your logic, but I genuinely believe that a middle stage like Graveler, Poliwhirl or Weepinbell are mor forgettable in general because you only think of them when you think about the evolutionary line of a different pokemon instead of thinking about the pokemon itself Gen 2: I can't believe you when you say that something Octillery or Remoraid (and following my logic for evolutionary lines I would say Skiploom) Gen 3: I mostly agree, but I want to point to Mawile (hasn't done anything noteworthy since the Mega isn't obliterating anything under trick room) and Loudred Gen 4: Shoutout to Phione, because who has seen one in game? Gen 5: Alomomola is such a stall beast I don't even know what you are talking about, as for the aliens they were being mentioned during gen 8 when theorizing about the landmarks so my vote would go to Unovan Tauros (a.k.a. Bouffalant) Gen 6: What? They appear with important characters in both game and anime. I would go with Espurr (I would say Furfrou but it's the only pokemon with temporary alternative forms) Gen 7: I would say Steenee, yes, even while being relatively important in the anime, everyone is always thinking about Tsareena not the other two (if they even remember it's an evolutionary line) Gen 8: Beeing "Tapu-Lele 2" might not be flashy, but it's far from forgettable, I would say this gen goes between Morgrem, Pincurchin and Snom Gen 9: Rabsca has the cualty of showing us a pokemon outside the Pokedex, which I believe it's enough to keep ot safe, but maybe Rellor. I think its gonna be Spidops, Tarountula seems cute enough to not be forgotten, but it's evolution does literally nothing, the Shroodle line or Paldean-Chattot (a.k.a. Squawkabilly)
Personally I disagree with tangela and love disc but people remember stuff differently. I've never seen that gen 5 alien Pokémon thing ever or that gen 7 flower thing either.
@KeiranTrick I know lol, it was really frustrating. Beautyfly isn't even a moth. I also really struggled with remembering Krokorok's name, but remembered it instantly. Those were my two biggest hiccups.
@@markrinn278 tbf Sandile -> ??? -> Krookodile... That's a rough gap to fill if you don't specifically remember Krokorok being named super differently to the others
Keep in mind, the hate for the fairy keys doesn't solely come from being an object mon. As soon you went into online battle during gen 6, you'd be faced with a clefkey. It wasnt super strong, it ust had really annoying typing to match pre Gen 7.
For me, Gen 4 is definitely Lumineon's line. Unremarkable design, unremarkable stats, no niche in competitive, I completely forgot they existed until Legends: Arceus, made it possible to find an Alpha Luminion on the coastlands.
While not my most favorite, Beheeyem is **A** favorite purely for its design and origins. The alien UFO theme is for a region based on America, which popularized the ideas of UFO sightings thanks to stuff like the Hill encounter, the Kenneth Arnold encounter, Roswell, etc. Plus the dex entries are so creepy and weird, as they should be given its inspiration. It does suck because I am a competitive player first and foremost, and it is complete ass, but my obsession with aliens and UFO lore means it was always going to be a favorite for me
Funnily enough, Tangela was the very first Pokémon that came to mind when I thought about which gen1 Pokémon could potentially be the most forgettable 😂
Comfey isn't that forgettable tho. They even appear in Pokemon Unite with some big names. I think that there are some options in Alola that are more forgettable like Morelull and the two monkeys
The thing about Comfey, is that it's the lei pokemon, and the as it's based on one of the most iconic things about hawaiian culture (especially to tourists) in the Hawaiian region, I think it's likely to come up for that reason
Gen 4 was what really hooked me as a Pokémon fan rather than just being tangentially aware of the franchise, so Tangrowth existing means I’m not going to forget Tangela
Was actually surprised how different my list ended up being from yours. Especially since every option you did choose, I actually considered. Gen 1 - Tangela, despite the above statement this was the one outlier. Ironically we had the same exact reasoning for it with Tangrowth likely being the only way people remember them Gen 2 - Smoochum, this one is a bit iffy especially with the choices being lowered as of late but smoochum is probably the baby pokemon of johto you’d think of last. Gen 3 Barboach, genuinely I can never remember this line. Whiscash is probably the only chance they have to be remembered and even that’s slim. I gave the pass to luvdisc because heart scales are still way too recent. Maybe in like 20 years, but rn I’d disagree. Gen 4 Mantyke, ironically both another Sinnoh baby Pokemon with the addition of mantines’ lack of reputation. Personally Chimechos anime appearance make their prevo just barely memorable enough to pass it. Gen 5 Bouffalant, 1 stage, no major outside appearance except being owned by Clay in the anime I believe, and the previous shadow of tauros before Paldea. Tauros took that spot with 3 forms and even miltank. With Beheeyem, their anime episode during best wishes was super iconic and infamously remembered for being the episode where Ash and Team Rocket were immune to mind control due to being “too stupid”. Gen 6 Carbink, I just don’t think diancie is enough to make people remember it. Sure it’s the other way around but I immediately think of the other Kalos mythicals especially hoopa. Helioptile was pretty big in the anime also near the end of Black and White being the ace of Alexa who served as that regions transition character to teach ash about kalos. She stuck around for quite a bit, plus there’s the one route where you ride ryhdon and they are like the only Pokemon you ever face. Gen 7 Morelull, it is genuinely so out of the way to get and had only one notable anime appearance in its dedicated episode. I genuinely thought it was a Gen 8 Pokemon for the longest time. Comfee on the other hand is nurse joy’s assistant Pokemon in the region and with the indigo disk, the coastal biome has quite a lot. Gen 8 Stonjourner, they’ll likely become the next binacle as time passes but this is the worst object Mon of all time imo. Every other object Mon at least looks unique in some way but it’s literally just Stonehenge with eyes and “arms”. Pincurchin is actually quite well remembered in the competitive community being the second ever electric terrain setter and commonly used early in the games life before Tapu Koko or Miraidon are allowed. Plus many have linked it to snom with their similar designs. (Indeedee is the same case but with psychic terrain.) Gen 9 Veluza, they were nothing more than an annoying pest. I don’t think a single person used it for their playthrough team and is just an incredibly unremarkable Pokemon. Rabsca has the advantage of having an interesting “signature” move revival blessing which it shares with Pawmot linking them together.
I ran into swalot and gulpin in scarlet and violet while playing through it and was convinced it was a new pokemon to that generation. Turns out it isn’t. Never remembered that pokemon at all.
I wholeheartedly disagree with comfey AS a forgettable gen 7 mon: Everyone who played The TCG in The last 2 Years knows that flowercrown of doom. It even was considered/used in VGC as a check for Calyrex shadowrider Rabsca is somehow more associated with revival blessing than pawmot and there memorable than if it hadn't the most powerful signature move in the history of the games
Out of all of the Pokémon mentioned I vaguely remember them all. Except for one, that koala Pokémon, it took me a second to realize that it actually existed.
I can always tell when they update the algorithm because the past few days I've been recommended some amazing deep dive videos from creators I never knew before. 🙏
Pincurchin isnt my all time fav, but definitely up there. The reason for it being one of my favs is because its colors are the same as real urchins, black outside and yellow meat. Like the shades are exactly the same as the real counterpart which i think is super neat
I’d say they are:
Gen 1: Can’t remember
Gen 2: What’s its name again?
Gen 3: Its the little one
Gen 4: I forgot
Gen 5: I’m not sure
Gen 6: My mind is blank
Gen 7: The big one
Gen 8: The one in the wild area
Gen 9: The one in area zero
I'd argue Seaking is far more forgettable than Tangela. Tangela at least sometimes pops up in Erika's gym while I can't even recall a major game event where Seaking is used.
I was gonna mention the same thing. Goldeen and seaking are the ones I usually forget the most
counterpoint: the "fuck yeah, seaking!" meme
I genuinely thought Tangela was a gen 2 mon so take that as you will
@@duzacsp1372goldeen in smash for me
Tangela has the distinction of being the only pure grass type in gen 1 which makes it somewhat unique.
I always choose Helioptile in my Kalos team
And appears in new Pokémon snap to
Then you have Pincurchin, Indeedee, and Comfey all mentioned here
My favorite Electric type, too! I love my little Jesus Lizard, damn!
Sporcle has a Name Every Pokemon quiz for each generation, the least remembered of each generation are:
Gen 1 - Lickitung (Tangela is 8th least memorable)
Gen 2 - Qwilfish (Mantine is 19th)
Gen 3 - Chimecho (Luvdisc is 16th)
Gen 4 - Mantyke (Chingling is 4th)
Gen 5 - Beheeyem
Gen 6 - Binacle (the Helios are 23rd/24th)
Gen 7 - Morelull (Comfey is 9th)
Gen 8 - Pincurchin
Gen 9 - Bramblin (Rellor is 5th)
yeah this is the way to do it. Especially since most of the people doing the Sporcle quiz are a bit more casual
The quizzes are pretty old at this point, some going back to 2008, but I think the only one very likely to change if they were to be restarted fresh would be swapping out Gen II's Qwilfish for Shuckle.
The Helios didn’t actually get a bad placement. Considering the fact that there is less than 70 Pokémon in Gen 6.
Lickitung is actually very surprising to me. The design is quite memorable, and didn't it have a role in the anime for a time?
I can see Lickiliky being more forgettable than Lickitung; maybe that's part of the reason.
@@Gchwow but Shuckle has so many cool fun facts
I will never forget Beheeyem just because of the one anime episode where they told Ash and Team Rocket they were too stupid to mind control. 🤣
This right here, this is the only reason i can’t and won’t forget about those lil alien guys, I remember that episode after all these years 🤣 Ill never forget those two being gen 5
Not having watched the anime I 100% never noticed the blue one and brown one were different pokemon
This. Honestly like every example up to Gen 5 or 6 I was like "it's in the anime"
Oh heck we found one
He needs to pin this now, he said he would 😂
SWSH is the only new gen game I've never played, but I remember it because it reminds me of pyukumuku
I LOVE pincurchin
I literally have to say the same thing. Especially after my profound love for Pyukumuku, it just feels wrong to leave Pincurchin aside. Heck, it's actually in my team in SV right now. And also as you said, thanks to Pocket TCG, Pincurchin becomes more relevant due to being an actually useful basic Pokemon for Pikachu ex.
Agreed and with miraidon being banned in comp pincurchin is viable and is the only one who can set electric terrain with their ability
Yk I was so ready to go to bat on Pincurchin’s behalf, then I realized you weren’t talking about Pyumyukyu
I had no idea it was even a pokemon until I opened it in TCG Pocket.
@@BloodyNightmare1991same, lmao

"indeedee is forgetable" tell that to the vgc players 😭
Tell that to any japanese 😅

Seel is 100% more forgettable than Tangela
Also, Bouffalant is so forgettable, I’ve already forgotten about him.
Ikr Tangela has *Terry*. Who could forget terry?
its not. lorelei uses dewgong.
Bouffalant isn’t that forgettable. It has a funny enough design and Alder uses one.
I dunno, I remember Seel more than Tangela because it's the common counter for genwunner arguments outside the object mons lol
'Pokemon are running out of ideas!'
'Let me introduce you to a seal called Seel'
It's actually farfetched
Whenever I am reminded Pinkurchin exists, I think its Gen 7. Heck I mix it up with Pyukumuku
And I can't even pronounce that name! I just call it a forgettable Pokemon species!
Pinkurchin's total identicalness to Pyukumuku actually made me forget that the Morphologically Similar gimmick was only for Kanto Pokemon.
I remember pincurchin mostly because an npc in SV will ask you for one and trade you a Haunter that actually evolves (no everstone)
Add Snom to the list as well. These 3 are the bane of my existence.
I would 100% say there are several more forgettable moms in Kalos than Helioptile and Heliolosk
Definitely. Kalos was so ez to me. All Pokemon battles so ez. But once I reached Clemont... It took me 6 hours TO BEAT HIS HELIOLISK!!!!!!.......................

@@mjm3091 Yeah......
Isn’t Swanna Skyla’s ace though?
@@Glowshinespretty sure it was, yes, and Ducklett was easy to find on the Driftveil Drawbridge
it rewrites your memories to make you forget it existed
I genuinely don't remember a single Beheeyem Pokedex line, so they are likely not popular as you think they are. It's one of the dozen new Psychic types, but Beheeyem line is the least used and least popular, especially as it's hard to find and it's not really that strong.
The only actual relevant point it gets is the mix-up with TMs, that gave it Steel Wing.

Luvdisc ain’t forgettable at all
Luvdisc is:

The pokemon everyone knows alomomola is poorly imitating
Alternative, consider spoink and grumpig.

Grumpig is the hypno of Gen 3. Prove me wrong.
@@mjm3091 Most people are using either Typhlosion at that time or no fire Pokemon at all
@@Infindox Growlithe and Vulpix are relatively easy to get in that gen.
Nah, people remembers Slugma for the joke...
Beheeyem is also pretty important in Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon, so it's hard for me to forget.
Most forgetable Gen 3 Pokémon was Slugma.
Because most people reading this comment didn't know it debuted in Gen 2.
Some of the Gen 2 Pokémon’s places in Hoenn almost feel apologetic. Especially the ones on important trainer teams or other significant mentions like Corsola.
Shoutout to the fools (affectionate) who thought Skarmory was a gen 3 Pokémon
it's 2024 - I feel like most people nowadays more remember Slugma as gen 2, because there have been so many bozos thinking it's gen 3
Slugma Ballz
Porygon-2 is the same for me
There’s another category: Pokémon that people don’t realise are from the generation they are from.
For me it's Spinda
10:35 BUT HES JUST A LITTLE GUY HOW COULD YOU OFFEND HIM
How could I ever forget Terry the Tangela? 😢
Was the Growlithe worth it?

Are you sure this isn’t gen5?
I honestly love gen 5 Pokémon, I’ve noticed most people are on either side of the scale lol. Either love gen 5 or hate it
I would give the gen 4 spot to Finneon and Lumineon tbh
This. Dude I always have to look for blue and white fish pokemon on google to remember it's name (once. I needed it's name once)
People in the tcg will remember lumineon because luminion v is used quite alot in low level competitive decks, but they won't remember the generation
i always remember it because it was missing from my pokedex every single time because it is so forgettable that i would never remember to look for it…
Pokemon like chimeco make me wish they could do more with "worldbuilding mons" in the main games.

Gen 2 is Skarmory for me
Not because I forget that it exists but I keep placing it as a Gen 3 Pokemon
i like skarmory, and I feel unlike, say, Tropius, it stands it's ground as a no evolution pokemon.
I just can't accept that Sigilyph isn't the most forgettable pokemon, I mean, who remembers this guy exist??

Nuzlocke players with trauma
Mind you Helioptile was first revealed in Gen 5, and is the only Gen 6 Pokemon in TCG Pocket rn
Bro Rabsca is one of my all time favourites, easily one of the most unique and memorable designs out of that gen imo
For Gen 2, the fact he didn't mention Sunkern/Sunflora show how forgettable they are
Comfey is very usable in VGC because of its ability giving it priority healing, so I think about it a lot.
Grumpig carries very little on from that and it's not entirely clear what its theme is supposed to be), and Chimecho (with how common Chingling is in Gen 4 being the only saving grace it has.)
I'm inclined to give it to Masquerain
The most forgettable Gen 8 Pokémon is Clobbopus. I had no idea it existed and fully believed Grapploct was a single-stage Pokémon up until I saw it in Fawful's Minion's Top Ten Generation 8 Pokémon video.
Every time I saw the anime bring up cherubi I went "oh right, that thing exists". I would say it's my pick but here's the thing: try as I might I can't ever remember what it evolves into. I know it evolves but nothing else. So that's my pick for gen 4 - the whateveritscalled that evolves from the cherry with a face.
Your editing is INSANE your channel deserves more attention
Heliolisk was one of the first gen 6 pokémon revealed (THE first, if I'm remebering correctly). It showed up in the anime while they were still in gen 5.
I feel like Sunkern in Gen 2 is so forgettable that everyone here literally completely forgot it.
If it would bring you comfort, my little sister really likes this line. It's one of her favorites in Unova, and in general as well
Back in the day I bred a TON of munna, named them all CA$H MUNNY and traded them all away in wonder trades just because. Good times.
Gen 6’s small dex makes it easy to remember
Rabsca’s line is pretty cool.
One thing I always forget is that Eldegoss is a 2-stage evolution Pokémon. Cause I always associate it with Jumpluff.
Comfey? Forgettable? Its a legitimately good support pokemon im VGC and sees plenty of play there.
Also one of the best supports in unite.
Probably the best supporter in Unite next to Clefable and Psyduck. Makes every all-arounder annoying as hell (and even some attackers), making them unkillable. Comfey is waaaay unforgettable for me lol
I feel like Beheeyem earned some memory points when it savagely roasted Ash and Team Rocket in the anime.
As a sucker for desert-themed locations and designs, I was actually ecstatic to have Pokemon based on a tumbleweed and a scarab beetle. I definitely understand how Rellor and Bramblin are completely ignored though.
You don’t know what infamous means.
Beeheyem were pretty big in Super Mystery Dungeon
That's true actually, I completely forgot about that! Which I guess kinda proves my point lol
Chingling has that little dynamic with the alpha rhypherior in that one place where if you alert one it screams to call the alpha over😔
Literally played one of the "name all original pokemon" quizzes the other day and Doduo and Dodrio were the only ones I missed 😂
@ArendAlphaEagle because obviously making it so half of the playerbase will never find one is going to give people so many good memories about it
In Shield i don't think there's a single way to even get it registered as seen in your Dex so any Shield players won't know it exists at all
As far as I'm concerned, the only memorable fact about Comfey is that Lillie uses one in USUM. That's it.
Gen 1: I can see your logic, but I genuinely believe that a middle stage like Graveler, Poliwhirl or Weepinbell are mor forgettable in general because you only think of them when you think about the evolutionary line of a different pokemon instead of thinking about the pokemon itself
Gen 2: I can't believe you when you say that something Octillery or Remoraid (and following my logic for evolutionary lines I would say Skiploom)
Gen 3: I mostly agree, but I want to point to Mawile (hasn't done anything noteworthy since the Mega isn't obliterating anything under trick room) and Loudred
Gen 4: Shoutout to Phione, because who has seen one in game?
Gen 5: Alomomola is such a stall beast I don't even know what you are talking about, as for the aliens they were being mentioned during gen 8 when theorizing about the landmarks so my vote would go to Unovan Tauros (a.k.a. Bouffalant)
Gen 6: What? They appear with important characters in both game and anime. I would go with Espurr (I would say Furfrou but it's the only pokemon with temporary alternative forms)
Gen 7: I would say Steenee, yes, even while being relatively important in the anime, everyone is always thinking about Tsareena not the other two (if they even remember it's an evolutionary line)
Gen 8: Beeing "Tapu-Lele 2" might not be flashy, but it's far from forgettable, I would say this gen goes between Morgrem, Pincurchin and Snom
Gen 9: Rabsca has the cualty of showing us a pokemon outside the Pokedex, which I believe it's enough to keep ot safe, but maybe Rellor. I think its gonna be Spidops, Tarountula seems cute enough to not be forgotten, but it's evolution does literally nothing, the Shroodle line or Paldean-Chattot (a.k.a. Squawkabilly)
Well, Alomomola has been in OU for a big chunk of Gen 9 and Indeedee is a Doubles staple, so definitely they shouldn't even be considered.
Generation one is pretty hard but generation two and on there’s a lot of forgettable ones.
A "most forgettable Pokemon" video without ONE mention of Finneon and Lumineon! Finally some respect is being put on my favourite Pokemon's name
Personally I disagree with tangela and love disc but people remember stuff differently.
I've never seen that gen 5 alien Pokémon thing ever or that gen 7 flower thing either.

I recently named all pokemon from memory, and beautyfly was mine. I remembered silcoon had an evolution, but all I could think of was mothim.
Mothim isn't even from that evo line, it's not even from the same _generation_ oh no 😂
@KeiranTrick I know lol, it was really frustrating.
Lol I even forgot finneon evolves into lumineon.
It does suck because I am a competitive player first and foremost, and it is complete ass, but my obsession with aliens and UFO lore means it was always going to be a favorite for me
Lumineon had to have been forgotten for Gen 4 😂
@PrincipalSkinner3190 it's in the "People talk about how forgettable they are that they aren't forgettable anymore" camp

I'm surprised for gen 4 Finneon and Lumineon weren't picked. I even had to look them up just to remember their names, and I was born off of Platinum
"indeedee is extremely forgettable" meanwhile it's a major Pokemon in a lot of competitive teams revolving around Trick Room and Expanding Force
8:27 Him: "They are so easy to slip your mind."
Me: Post Helioptiles on a Discord server daily because Helioptile is my favorite Pokemon.
Ironically we had the same exact reasoning for it with Tangrowth likely being the only way people remember them
Gen 2 - Smoochum, this one is a bit iffy especially with the choices being lowered as of late but smoochum is probably the baby pokemon of johto you’d think of last.
(Indeedee is the same case but with psychic terrain.)
Gen 9 Veluza, they were nothing more than an annoying pest. I don’t think a single person used it for their playthrough team and is just an incredibly unremarkable Pokemon. Rabsca has the advantage of having an interesting “signature” move revival blessing which it shares with Pawmot linking them together.
gen 1: lickitung
gen 2: bellossom
gen 3: grumpig
gen 4: cherrim
gen 5: bouffalant
gen 6: clauncher
gen 7: morelull
gen 8: cursola
gen 9: squackabilly
I ran into swalot and gulpin in scarlet and violet while playing through it and was convinced it was a new pokemon to that generation. Turns out it isn’t. Never remembered that pokemon at all.
I wholeheartedly disagree with comfey AS a forgettable gen 7 mon:
Everyone who played The TCG in The last 2 Years knows that flowercrown of doom.
It even was considered/used in VGC as a check for Calyrex shadowrider
Rabsca is somehow more associated with revival blessing than pawmot and there memorable than if it hadn't the most powerful signature move in the history of the games
When I was a kid, I forgot that Dunsparce existed when I played Pokémon Gold.
"Indeedee is forgettable" mfers when I show them Psychic Surge Indeedee and Expanding Force Armarouge deleting formats
Out of all of the Pokémon mentioned I vaguely remember them all. Except for one, that koala Pokémon, it took me a second to realize that it actually existed.
Imagine forgetting Brian David Gilbert's favorite Pokemon, terry the tangela
sorry i forgot what we were talking about, what's a pokemon again??
The song "I made a song with just Elgyem's cry" makes Elgyem not too forgettable imo.
Heliolisk having the ability Dry Skin and learning Rain Dance, Thunder and Surf was such a cool combo in my Y playthrough
I can always tell when they update the algorithm because the past few days I've been recommended some amazing deep dive videos from creators I never knew before. 🙏
Beheeyem actually gave us one of the most epic burns in the Pokémon anime, saying Jessie, James and Ash are too stupid to mind control
Pincurchin isnt my all time fav, but definitely up there. The reason for it being one of my favs is because its colors are the same as real urchins, black outside and yellow meat. Like the shades are exactly the same as the real counterpart which i think is super neat
