oh yeah, on that trout, if the water isn't too deep, stand in the water, put your hands in, apart just enough for the trout not to feel threatened, and it will(eventually)swim between your hands, as quick as you can, grab and toss on dry land. used to fish like that as a kid in upstate N.Y.

A little bit of canyoneering is good for the soul! I have a Tesla model Y long range...I love it; certainly requires a different way of planning outings due to sparsity of charging, but I wouldn't switch back to ICE for anything! Good for you on your Cybertruck order!!!!!!

Pretty sure I've been RIGHT where you were! When I was there ladders existed to help with the climbs...maybe ropes now? The pools aren't deep but they sure are warm. And I caught the new flyover in the background. I'd post a pic but that's not allowed. And yes the parking is now closed May to like October due to too many dummies having to be airlifted out of the trail for heat exhaustion. I was so bummed to find it closed the last time I was there.

I have the same TDub, if you have stock tires they are very stiff tires. I run 6 pounds of pressure in the rear tire and 8 pounds of pressure in the front. Really helps on rocky terrain, the suspension is vintage 1987, so it needs a little help.

My idea of a perfect life is key west in the winter with my Ford F250 pull in an airstream and then going up to Montana and doing some trout fishing. I might suffer the same setbacks that you had fishing but at the end of the day I’m happy.

Okay beautiful. Until you get your timing down, fly casting will continue to drive you nuts! One suggestion I can give is on your back cast, say "God save the queen " before you throw the line forward. The line needs to be fully extended behind you before the forward cast will work. That should help.

I'm glad to see you still have your TW! Might I suggest you put a Shinko SR241 tire on the front and run it at about 12 psi for off road and 10psi in the factory rear. It will be a game changer and confidence builder for you. The factory front tire isn't bad but it also isn't good and has a tendency to wash out when you least expect it. The TW is more than capable of traversing the trail you were on, all be it slowly, with the right front tire and air pressure. We all lay them down from time to time on trails like those. Kudos to you for not giving up on the TW.

Glad you are ok and the only casulties are the GoPro and the windscreen on your helmet! So the bear caught a fish right off. You know I think there is a Fish Conspiracy working against you! Looking forward to the new Van, can't wait! With all the talk recently about the CyberTruck, I was wondering if you still had your order in. Good to hear, love to see what you can do with that truck, just do not throw any baseballs at the side windows! I have not driven a Tesla, but I did get to test drive one of the electrical vehicles GM was testing back in the day. Yes, the acceleration on those is amazing. My Hybrid Maverick Truck has some of that as well. So, Doc, as always, Have Fun! looking forward to the next videos. But I must say, Go Bengals! 😎 💜

Good Day Dr. Hannah, so nice of you to drop in. Your opening scene, I had to hit pause and just soak it in, it was breathtaking! I love your “It’s just part of the adventure” philosophy, I’ll add to that “nothing ventured, nothing gained”. Funny that you’ve never broken a bone, that’s quite a feat being the adventurous person that you are. Some of those rope climbs certainly could’ve provided the first break. I’ve never broken a bone either, as much as I’ve tried. Trying to out-fish the bear…hmmm, not sure, you may have to change your methods but I’m happy that you’re still fishing. Thanks for taking me along on this near-winter adventure and looking forward to more hot-springs now that I know your secret, you sniff them out 🤗 Go Steelers!

Hay there Hannah! What's up girl?
Wow that is some pretty rough terrain, but I can tell you're getting better at riding. Yes reducing your tires air pressure helps a lot, especially in sand.
    Yip, turn around. Lol
You went further than I think I would've went, and I've been riding off-road for over 40 years now, good call.
Oh, and still going strong. 💪 hehehe.
And absolutely yes one MUST know their limitations...
One good way to get over rough terrain is to gear right down into 1st gear, sit down in the saddle, and keep your feet down almost right on the ground, but just about an inch above the ground and just crawl along. That way if you do start to go down you can squeeze in the clutch and catch yourself before you go completely as@$ over tea kettle. Lol...
A good way to practice doing that is to ride around on smooth, flat ground first. And try taking really tight turns while doing it also.
And remember to crawl along, almost as slow as the bike can possibly go, in first gear. And I'm sure ya already knew that, but just in case you didn't.
Oh cool! I didn't know you put in for an all electric Tesla truck. I hope you get it soon, can't weight to check it out.

Hey Hannah i totally forgot about your preorder of the cyber truck! I recently seen a cool video from Elon's recent visit with Joe Rogan. In said video Elon spoke of the truck and how it now will stop most caliber of gun bullets from passing through the doors😮. I don't want to spoil the rest👍👍👍👍 Stay safe out there and God bless.

I’m glad that you didn’t get hurt on your motorcycle. Yeah, that was pretty sketchy for that bike.
The only thing worse than finding broken ropes on the rope trail is finding ropes that haven’t broken… yet.
There is a hike near Mecca, CA on the east side of the Coachella Valley called The Ladder Canyon Trail. The canyon stair steps up the Mecca plateau by a series of ladders, some new, some decades old.

@@DrHannahStraight The Mecca area is also great for dirtbiking. Have been going there with a small group of friends for decades. Done several rides to the ladder canyon and then enjoyed the hike. There is also a small oasis in that area as well. Your bike can do much more than you realize, but when riding alone its good to stay in your comfort zone. If you ever care to ride with some others to improve your skills hit me up. Thoroughly enjoy your content.
