I really like where you go out and show the local areas and historic landmarks at the end. History of the locales is cool, keep it up it really plays well for traveling for food. I know it's extra production work but it's a nice ending after you demolish food and time records 😅.
“Let’s start the challenge in about…let’s say…5..4..3..2..1” he kills me acting like he doesn’t literally start the challenges at the same 5 second count down every single video😂
I think he says 'Lets saaaaay', because he is taking a mental note of what time the video is on, and lining it up nicely. eg on the minute, so he knows how long he has been going. 🙂
I was pretty sure he's looking at his camera trying to start at a 0 mark on the time to help keep track of the time. Like start the challenge at 130 exactly instead of like 132 or 128
@JoelHansen commenting on the dry harbor at low tide: "Obviously they purposly, I guess, let the water out of it, I'm assuming?" 😂 Yes, Joel, that's so much fun that people along the coast do it twice a day. On purpose. 😉 Love that you are showing the area besides the food!
I watch two competitive eaters regularly, you and Beard. It's interesting the drastically different ways you guys do it. If this was Beard, those sausages would've been gone in 3 seconds flat before anything else got touched. 😂
I loved your face when you tried the salad cream 😂 Salad cream was apparently made to replace mayonnaise during the 2nd world war as eggs were rationed. I love your videos. You’re so upbeat and polite. Thanks and take care 🫶
how do you run out of eggs in WW2? 1 hen can lay 250+ eggs per year, did you all of a sudden go "omg Hitler is coming i need egg omelettes for breakfast every morning" or was it more like "Hitler is bombing our chicken farms because they were Jewish chickens" , which one?
I love Joel’s love for veggies. I have to have a raw and/or cooked vegetable with every single meal I eat. I love meat as much as anyone but need me some veggies too!
The hot stones are such a great idea especially for challenges! I think my favourite would be the steak and chicken wings... and mushrooms! Amazing job Joel!
Those "mash potato fries" became the standard way back, this side of the pond (Irish guy with English dad), due to a sudden influx of Italian immigration in the 60's. A lot of the families that came over, set up (at least in Eire) traditional chippers, and that became the style to which we are accustomed. Smother that good stuff in salt and vinegar?
As an English man, I love Rump steak it's my favourite meat, most of all Paignton is a beautiful seaside town. Glad you experienced it Joel, all the best!
The UK does have salad dressing, salad cream is just a completely different product. It's great on Chips (fries), add a bit to coleslaw and it is deeeelightful in egg and onion mix.
OMG...I'm originally from England but I've been living in the States for more then 30+yrs however when u showed Salad Cream I could literally taste it in my mouth. It's so super yummy, way better then mayo or Miracle whip which I absolutely detest both so so much. I highly recommend if u can get ahold of it u must must try it...u won't be disappointed. Damn do I miss my English food so much especially Crumpets...Joel I hope u tried them. They're a stable English food for sure.
That rump steak looked really delicious! That would be my first pick, with the sausages a close second. I’m a bit surprised about there being fewer eating challenges in North America, but when you explained it, it makes sense. You definitely have to go back to the UK, Joel!
This is the only food challenge I've looked at and thought I could do it. It would be a close one, but I think with some real struggle I could manage. Nice video, Joel.
Great vlog Joel and yes a mixed grill is popular in the U.K. and generally what you Canadians or us peeps wud normally call ham and eggs is gammon and Eggs plus other things so thanxs for doing this dude 😊😊😊
Spent a wonderful week in September at The Stafford, London and everywhere we ate was phenomenal. I would definitely recommend going back to the UK for any reason. People like to tease that Brits boil all their food and nothing tastes good, but they would be wrong. We enjoyed everything they had to offer.
My son adores your channel and videos (I do too 😊). We live so close to Paignton, wish I had known you were here, I would have surprised him to come and cheer you on with this challenge. Hope you enjoyed your visit to Torbay, it gets a bad rep in the UK but I will never tire of the views here. Well done on another impossible food challenge time to beat for anyone else 😁
About 5 years ago I became horrifically allergic to cows milk, so one day I tried putting a fried egg on my burger instead of cheese. Your right about it being revolutionary, I genuinely prefer it that way.
Yep. The rump steak looked like best of British. The sausages looked like the cheapest, nasiest chip shop sausages, which are about 55 - 60% rusk & other fillers.
Best part of your eating challenges is the encore where you show us around what it looks like. Would be nice if you could start that segment with a map so one can get the feel where we are. Nice work keep it up.
First of all welcome back to the UK Joel . Well done on smashing the record in painton , you made it look easy to be honest , but I can't get over the amount of mustard you use tho 😮. Again well done .
We have salad dressing as well, all different flavours too... Serve with salads, sandwiches, boiled eggs, chips, fish or vegetables - or anything you fancy
I get hiccups if I eat bread, peanut butter, fries, etc too fast. I'll have what feels like an esophageal spasm and sometimes hiccup. Oh! I initially have a large hiccup after each few sips of soda. I hardly drink soda so that could be why. Drink between bites is always helpful in regards to breads, fries, etc. Well done, Joel!
You do some of the hardest challenges that I've ever seen a professional eater do before Joel 😊and never complain about the amount of food 🍲 that you have to eat God bless Gerald 😅😊
As a resident of the UK I firstly appreciate the addition of vinegar it made me smile. Also those chips are awesome the will be triple cooked boiled then fried on low temp, then rested maybe even chilled then fried at high temp to get the crisp. Love them. Definitely need vinegar though 😂
Me and fiancé are huge fans and we saw you do a few Texas challenges. We are from Austin TX and would love to see you conquer the “ JUAN IN A MILLION “ challenge. It was on “ Man vs Food “ tv show back in the day and me and my fiancé love the restaurant and the owner is usually there and is a delight to meet, very friendly staff. Hope this makes it to you and you make a trip love to see you do these challenges live.
Welcome to the uk Joel I have to say that watching you eat your way through so many food challenges i thought that this uk challenge was going to be a walk in the park for you :) Anyway nice to see you!
Here is another two times I almost died from mash potato sticks :

Love those mash potato sticks 😋
I absolutely love ❤️ watching you eat. Makes my mouth water. Can’t help it. You bring that out in me. 😅😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Those mashed sticks looks yummy 🤤

next time you have chips salt and vinegar is the best
Meet up with Beard and do some challenges!!!! That would be a GREAT series of videos! You two are the main ones I watch
I was thinking the same
Beard meet Joel. What a collab.
“Let’s start the challenge in about…let’s say…5..4..3..2..1” he kills me acting like he doesn’t literally start the challenges at the same 5 second count down every single video😂

@@JoelHansenthat's funny?
@@GoldVP...yes 😂
That hot stone needs to be a normal thing for a lot of food challenges
:)
I agree
You know how many people would get burned from those stones from their sheer stupidity? Too damn many
@@thebrownguy79well they do serve them in Mexican restaurants if you order a dish like a fajita
BYOS bring your own stone.

Yeah and he would have cried about the mushrooms while Joel said how much he enjoys them!!!
@@BeaverDunker Also true! Never understood that from Adam, I freaking LOVE mushrooms.
Joel stacks the foods based on how much they fill one because of the higher fats etc. it’s smart
Joel and beard are great. Scott eats is quickly becoming a favorite too
I'm a fan of Leah Shutkever.... total class act, and power eater. 💪🏻❤️
I loved your face when you tried the salad cream 😂 Salad cream was apparently made to replace mayonnaise during the 2nd world war as eggs were rationed. I love your videos. You’re so upbeat and polite. Thanks and take care 🫶
It's a fun idea, but Salad Cream has been in existence since 1914 and is just a product created for sale.
Wonder how it tastes
It looks like thousand island dressing, who knows.@@blaizegottman4139

Gammon egg and chips is another british pub classic.
I love Joel’s love for veggies. I have to have a raw and/or cooked vegetable with every single meal I eat. I love meat as much as anyone but need me some veggies too!
I like that you're so happy in your videos, so that makes me laugh too. And I need all the laughs I can get. Thanks buddy ;)
i love as a brit, you trying to explain british food 🤣😂
Doing too much 😂
Very funny! Nope, no hiccups! hahaha. Excellent challenge, Joel! Kudos
Everything looks cold! The cheese on the burger wasn’t even melted…
Except the meat hot of the grill stone!
It wasn't appetising at all
The people are so friendly, 3rd trip is just inevitable ... why not!!!😋😋😋
The hot stones are such a great idea especially for challenges! I think my favourite would be the steak and chicken wings... and mushrooms! Amazing job Joel!
I love the quaintness of that little town and the buildings. 😊
I’m from U.K. and love English mustard. Never ever seen anyone just dollop that amount on food like Joel though 😂
Same. As an English person, I was genuinely scared for him with that first load and then surprised when he didn't just burst into flames and die.
He's like my stepson. He's mad about English mustard , love loads of it.
Yeah, unreal dollops!
We have the same kind in Canada, it’s called Keen’s. Hot like wasabi
Joel’s from the east coast, might just be an Ontario thing
My man the swivel headed hunchback serial killer behind your left shoulder kind of freaked me out !!!!

@@haitolawrence5986definitely not...I miss them so so much.
Everything looked pretty good, but seeing that unmelted cheese on the burger made me sad😢
Agree. I was so upset to see that - what a bad way to represent us to the world. They should have melted it properly.
What I love most about his videos out of all the competitive eaters, he actually enjoys the food…
Little food goblin over your left shoulder was keen lol
That mixed grill looked delicious. And the hot stones are a brilliant concept!
That steak was making my mouth water when Joel was pulling it apart lol
Eating English mustard without flinching is a skill 😎
Them sausages are just plain unseasoned straight in the fryer. It's basically up to you to add stuff lol
@@Tonystony1984interesting
I agree… I love English mustard but couldn’t take a huge mouthful like this!
Big up the challenges in UK 🇬🇧 Joel glad you are enjoying them
Thanks for showing us around Joel ✌🏼
Congrats on the record. U.K is so beautiful, they are so blessed. 💜💜🙏🙏
LOL I thought I was the only one that ALWAYS gets the hiccups when I eat fries (chips/french fries/ tater babies, you get the idea).
I love all the little bites of steak i could tell you were blown away by the tenderness you had to take as many little bites as you could 😂

We just cut potatoes and fry them!
Same!..👍

Wow Joel! You absolutely crushed this challenge and made it look easy! 👍🏾👍🏾
"purposefully got the water out of the harbour" lol Oh bless Americans
THE DUDE ON YOUR LEFT SIDE WAS KILLIN ME BRO. YOU SHOULD DO A CHALLENGE WITH BEARD AKA ADAM. THAT WOULD BE AWESOME.
You were amazing Joel ! Congratulations on a really cool win ! 😊👍💕💕💕

Did you see them being deep fried? I just knew they were the cheapest, nastiest, most awful service station sausages when they went in the fryer.
Phew! That was a big one! Nicely done, Joel! You're the man!
The steak, definately! That was tender to the max, I was longing...;-)

cucumber always give me the hiccups. Great challenge. You are that like it was nothing 😂 ❤
The guitar playing was absolute quality in that intro music, not often you hear that in library music, no idea who that is but they can play.
mans a savage with the english mustard
Smart concept with the hot stones, the chef will never have any complains🤣👍🏻.
We have salad dressing as well, all different flavours too... Serve with salads, sandwiches, boiled eggs, chips, fish or vegetables - or anything you fancy
