Hey I just wanna point out that this is a really good tutorial. And I'm not just saying that -- I am a very visual/auditory learner for sure and while GamerPoets is great a lot of his tutorials will show you more "what" rather than "why." Just the fact that you're covering all the bases and explaining each of the common pitfalls as you go, awesome; going in depth on each step, awesome. It feels like I have all the information I need here with a visual example to really get my foot in the door. Just awesome, idk, thanks for this.
Hey! I am not here, to learn how to make plugins and become a mod ninja, I am just looking for a solution for a bug, caused by mod conflict in FO4. My radaways won't clear my radiation sickness. Anyone reading this and knowing how to solve it, and having the time and crayons to explain it to my dumb ass gonna be my personal hero! Thank you!
I have a similar desire. I have a bunch of Fallout 4 Profiles through Vortex. And about 7 months ago, very slowly, sometimes when loading an Exit Save my game would crash to desktop. With one Profile. Then it started progressing more often on 4 Profiles. About every 3 days, if I can play, it will CTD on loading an Exit Save. I started a Virtually Vanilla game, running about 25 mods, like No Twigs (because GAWD there are a lot of sticky-out twigs every-fecking-where), and Ballitic Weave as well as UCO and UF4P, and Start Me Up. Game runs fine. Ran for 10 days no issues. I tried a different, new Profile, enabled about 80 mods, instead of the usual 130. And she CTD after playing for 1 day. However, I have a character running 115~ mods, doesn't CTD on Exit Save. The 80 mods above are the same as the 115. Essentially it is a Mod Conflict type issue. And one of my friends said to load Fallout4xedit in order to find the conflict and resolve it. But no one seems to have a video explaining that in crayon for us newbs. I don't want to create mods, I just want to fix whatever issue is happening, and go back to playing my game using other artists mods. I hope he does an episode showing people like us just that. 😊🙏
Use buffout and check the logs for the CTD event. Prob look at the last couple things to happen and you'll likely find your culprit, sorry it's so late an answer
Overall this was an effective tutorial. But I felt like you had about 20 minutes or more of unnecessary content for a beginner and it actually caused me to spend about an hour to engage in the 10min of useful beginner info. Please remember us newbies are overwhelmed very quickly who are truly new to all this. All your commentary and let me call out or warn you just ensures overwhelmed unable to absorb. I would have said something like. You need to backup your entire base game and any mods you don't want to have to redownload if you mess this up. I am going to go walk you through the very basics. This tool is super powerful and if you deviate in anyway from my instruction you will likely have to restore/reinstall you entire game. This tutorial will likely leave you with a lot of what about this questions. Please see me 102 tutorial where I go into what to look out for, what is basically safe and what can be harmful if you are not careful. Now, this was effective ultimately, and you clearly are an expert in the use and this tool and getting amazing results from it. Thank you for proving you know how to get results and wanting to share your extensive knowledge of this powerful tool. Thank you.
I'm trying to edit the wasteland energy shields mod to boost the recharge rate or something to prevent simple radiation storms in normal, non-glowing sea areas of the games from knocking them out like blowing out candles, but I can't for the life of me find the shield recharge effect.
So when I change the damage of the weapon, it only changes the damage of the gun without any mods, but when I put mods on it the damage isn't added to the mods, so the upgrades remain unchanged, and end up doing less damage, can someone explain what I'm not doing?
HELP I want to edit the Cannibal perk. (amount of HP gained eating corpses) There's some mods that rework this perk but the amount of HP gained still low for my personal preferences. *I'm still new using FO4edit, for now I only know how to change minor things such as weapon base damage and armor slot.
I literally did everything you did in this video and it didn't work, I have tried working around it multiple times but my game seems completely unaffected by the changes i make in FO4edit
Is there a way to edit more than 1 entery with a patch? Im trying to do my own True damage like overhaul manually but doing so would involve easily 50+ added plugins changing vanilla items alone.
there is a good chance many people won't find this video through youtube / google search because it says "xEdit" and the majority of Fallout 4 players will only know "FO4Edit". I almost skipped this video because of this :)
@@kinggath Awesome! Another thing I'd like you to consider is to make your Sim Settlements discord channel free for everyone, so that people new to the mod could ask questions, report bugs and make suggestions. You can still have private channels on the server for patrons (I think patreon does it automatically by assigning a special role, at least I know for sure Twitch has this functionality for paid subs). This way you will get your mod more accessible for new people since I know for a fact many many people don't like registering on the forums to ask questions etc. Forums are good for in-depth discussions, but discrod is great for quick, small questions and general chat.
@@robosergTV its unfortunately not so simple, takes tons of moderators to manage a public Discord, and I just don't have the desire to organize something like that- my plate is plenty full already.

What is the best way to create a VIS-G patch for a Weapon and Ammo types? For example, the RPG-7V2 by the Shiny Haxorus ; or M79 Grenade Launcher -- Standalone by Seanms1991. I use a combination of VIS-G, AWKCR, Better Locational Damage, Better Explosives Redux and Agony. To make my Survival game even more immersive and challenging, I use Greslin's Pack Attack [PA-NPC]. I've been begging for a larger toolkit of explosives (especially ones that I can field craft, or are lightweight enough to be practical). I don't wear Power Armor, and I don't use a HUD. Defeating my opponents requires tactical thinking. I cannot travel back to Settlements to create the best gear. I must make do in the field. I cannot carry a Rocket Launcher or Fat Man, for a single use. I love Remote Explosives, because I can take the Mini Nuke I found and field craft it into the weapon I need to drop bosses. When I started tinkering around in FO4Edit to get the right damages and proper tags, I somehow broke the game. I've logged a whole lot of information on Explosives, but the complexity is (for now) beyond my very basic modding skill. At minimum, I can learn to get the weapons properly tagged.
