Settlement Repair Bot is a very useful one, it lets you place a robot, one per settlement, that will repair virtually anything that gets damaged during a raid, save you having to run around like a maniac fixing everything whenever you visit a settlement.

A thing that I think they didn't think through very well is that after 220 some odd years people would certainly have _at least_ gone back to building log /stone cabins or even mud huts with grass roofs. Human beings have been living in structures like that for eons. With industry largely destroyed and building materials that require very involved hi-tech ingredients needed to build modern type structures not available for the overwhelming majority of people, if not all people, they'd have gone back to very primitive structures by necessity. They should have included the parts to build structures like that in the vanilla game from launch. I mean, ain't _no one_ going to construct a roof made out of boards and bed sheets or ultra rusted metal panels full of holes. They'd more readily sleep in a tipi than something like that.
The only thing i remember i used and clearly you too is the mod that allows to clear, scrap anything :leafs, trash, dirt, broken road, etc. Can be dangerous, save before using but essential. Also powerful but RP friendly is the portable workshop. You can cut down a tree anywhere, or scrap a car, etc. OP, but makes sense if not abused. I will look up the mods names and include later. Loved your suggestions!

Workshop rearranged is an absolute must for my load order. I remember watching these vids jealously while i was playing on ps4. Now that ive moved on to the xbox, its become a completely new game.
The only bad thing about the snappy house kit, is since the houses are all one piece, adding furniture into the houses is pretty annoying. It will pick up the whole house unless you select the furniture outside the house.
thanks for the vid, got some good mods from this. One you could add is Workshop Plus, lets you fly around so you don't have to build stairs and what not to get on roofs and you can also change how fast you move if you don't like the speed you fly around
I'll have to suggest workshop plus by kinggath it's a must have if you're getting into settlements, The mod let's you fly on workshop mode so you don't have to run slowly from point A to B. I also personally turn on free build mode which let's you build with out restrictions such as materials costs or perk requirements. It just saves so much time on building, it also doesn't break the main game so your current scrap and components are not affected, scraping with free build on doesn't give you stuff also so it won't break the game.

The mod i am in need of is fixing roofs, exspecially at sanctuary were i also try to keep its originality, i don't want to mess about to much but i do want to stop the rain coming through as that helps with your settlers happiness, a lot of people build and then drop it in but i would rather click & drop repairs, trouble with that is you can't always see what you are doing & can end up doubling up, yes i know console commands will help with this but i tend or rather don't use console commands as it's cheating, anyway thanks again

for me I'm going with Place everywhere since I'm going to be designing what the courier's house would look like in the commonwealth. as it would be filled with things from his time in the capital wasteland to the mojave.

I think I've used every mod you listed here except Cabin in the Woods and Faster Workshop. I promised myself not to play Fallout 4 again, I get so lost in building settlements. Now I really, really want to build a settlement again. My son Sean, Shaun, Juan? - whoever will have to wait yet again.

Thanks for this, almost all of them work for my flatscreen version. VR on the other hand is struggling with the mushroom lights, when i scroll to the giant mushroom i get a CTD, i can use the biohazard sign though in my arcade lol. The REAL bummer though is that as of now, 3/25/2022 cVc Dead Wasteland is a NO GO for VR users and that's... HEARTBREAKING because i spent about 4 hours in my settlements with it last night and HOLY SMOKES it's so essential! I hope it gets a patch for VR and soon. Nothing makes you wish for nuclear winter craftables like VR!

Definitely a great mod. I like to use it in places where it’s a smaller build site and want it to look more makeshift and rustic. Coastal Cottage, Outpost Zimonja, Murkwater Construction, and Oberland Station for example!
Ohh and with the Giant Wood Cabin thing, you can make Strong and any custom Mutants you happen to recruit homes!! :D Make your own Jacobstown but in Boston lol
Workshop Rearranged sadly isn't good mod design, the menu re-arrangement would make more sense as a separate mod from the crafting. With mods like SSM and Workshop Plus, it makes even less sense now. I always end up having to pass this one up. It looks like you can get most of the content in other mods now thankfully.
Fallout 4 on PC - SETTLEMENT building. What mods would your recommend from Nexus that help increase the amount of items to build with but that also have quality of life improvements. For example I'm looking to: a) BE ABLE to build underground like in a bunker like in fallout 76 b) build with different textures on both sides of the walls - so with wallpapers c) be able to SPAWN in passive NPCs like robots or hostile ones like ghouls to lock in an area (cage) like a prisoner. D) build doors with self powered switches to open/close a door or to lock it and USE a keycard that only i have access to. E) in general easier to work electronics and electrical items - for example I'm still trying to figure out the "gateways" connectors in electrical I've read and seen and am thinking of the following: wireless electricity mod, scrap everything mod, snappy house mod, settlement objects expansion mod. Can you good people offer any other suggestions - and which order to load them in without breaking one another. P.s. I'm allay going to install "war of the commonwealth " and"real ai" .
My top reasons as to why I build settlements with mods: 1. You get done with settlement building faster, and your settlement looks less generic and still lore friendly. 2. I could give a crap less about achievements. 3. I'd rather play with mods than creation club content that is inferior.

'Build Anywhere' - I think it's by Tim Timman. I'm using it and it's great so far (early game.) You have to use it with STC (Scrap That Commonwealth) which is a sister mod to STS. I just build a sweet little ramshackle personal home for my char & Dogmeat on the wooded hills behind Diamond City (by the Salvage Yard.) It doesn't count as a settlement like Conquest, but great for building anywhere you like. I'm going to do a test build today and see how it works for interiors; maybe inside the Cambridge Diner or that little subway near Hangman's Alley!
great video! ive never used mods before but have been thinking about it. if i start a new playthrough and use mods only on that one, when i go play my main will achievements still be disabled? ive been scared to use any mods because of this. and i see workshop/settlement mods, as well as player housing, but are any of the settlements or houses completely buildable in (such as normal settlements in the game)?
Great question. I just started with mods myself. I have several characters I play and find that they are automatically flagged as modded. However, maybe you can disable mods before loading another character? Like I said, I'm new to this, so don't know, and you probably already figured it out yourself by now 😅
I wish for a mod that makes it easier to navigate workshop menus, because when I use too many workshop mods I get lost between menus and sometimes takes me long time to find the thing Im looking for

Ok? I've recently loaded the update(ps4), and added some mods. My old ones that still work. Now I have e a problem. There's a black locker by the workshop in sanctuary now. It has ruined my load order. Been going through, and cut them all off one by one? It's still there. Anyone know what mod adds this locker?
I know this is an old video, but console the Do It Yourshelf mod is almost unusable. Idk why but none of the clutter has issues snapping to the various pieces of furniture. It's like the snap points are off.
I wish the mod memory could be bigger on xbox like skyrim has 5gb i would be happy with 3 for fallout so i could get all the settlement mods i have most but i would like to add 3 more just dont have enough memory i still want cvc kuro tab snap n build and gruffy dd signs i have all the rest wish i could ass those other ones also I wouldn’t care about having to wait a few minutes to build anything i wanted

Thanks for the build menu mod, installed it and now I don't have to wait ten minutes to build stuff. One new follower reporting for duty!
Its the worst when you are in your build mode and you get attacked so you switch out and it takes 5 min to load back up

Bit late, but use the up and down arrows in the menu to avoid this instead of the select button. It’s literally not a problem👍🏻

It's an outstanding product by the way, nothing more infuriating to wait upwards of 16 seconds or more just to open my workshop

I know this is an old video, but console the Do It Yourshelf mod is almost unusable. Idk why but none of the clutter has issues snapping to the various pieces of furniture. It's like the snap points are off.

I wish the mod memory could be bigger on xbox like skyrim has 5gb i would be happy with 3 for fallout so i could get all the settlement mods i have most but i would like to add 3 more just dont have enough memory i still want cvc kuro tab snap n build and gruffy dd signs i have all the rest wish i could ass those other ones also I wouldn’t care about having to wait a few minutes to build anything i wanted
