important to note that you can only RENEW an AFTERMARKET benz remote and it has to have been an remote that was previously programmed to the vehicle USING the same AUTEL machine.
this process does not work for OEM Mercedes keys?
@@josegutierrez9903 no it does not. like most oem keys, merc IR keys cannot be unlocked w Autel. only the aftermarket BE keys using the same tool it was programmed with.

I hsvr an Autel MS906 Pro that will do keys. Can I connect the XP400 to it to renew keys? Im mostly doing Dodge key's 2005-2015
To be honest, I am not sure.
You can try and it won’t hurt.

Do you know if this works with, IYZDC12K fobs? I have 4 of these keys and does not read any of them with this setup.
Those aren’t Mercedes keys. Looks like they’re infinity smart key fobs .

You ever had an older Benz that the xp400 isn't picking up the key in the ir slot ? , but the key starts and works fine ?
Older Benz you mean the flip key style with metal blade ?
@@autopurlieu no it has the ir sensor in it with the metal key to the back, it's two button, I have tried three and autel says failed to read key information but the key is detected by the car and starts, if I try a new Benz key the autel reads and gives information, have you had this problem before ?

Are you doing just add a key? If so, just go ahead and try to make one.

I've seen a lot of your content, I'm just starting with the IM508, XP400 pro, is Gbox or J2534 necessary for Mercedes? Please keep it up, this is very good content you're making.
J2534 doesn’t work on im508. That is for im608 and for diagnostic purposes .
Gbox can be used on both im508 and im608, and specifically needed for Mercedes Benz on password calculation.

I tried to renew my used mercedes key. I keeps coming up failed. I also tried to do add a key to see if it would take and it wouldn't take. It was saying key need to be cleared before adding.
any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, my key and the used one i bought are exactly the same with fcc ID and all frequencies and everything. Thanks
