My buddy totaled his accord and used the previous key to the new one and they were able to program it at batteries plus no problem whatsoever. Was from 2020 accord to a 2019 accord.
There's still an RFID chip in the handle of the key. The key will unlock the door and turn the ignition, but the engine will just crank without firing. Or your car might just be older.

Agree, its nice and simple, as in my 69 corvette, yet - not safe. Its easy to break into and steal a car with physical key, as well as key fob, the safest security system would be one using the rolling code ( it changes password of the key every time you use it) The key generates the password according to algorithm that spits out the code, and lock checks if it fits the algorithm. Its very hard to steal, yet there are a couple of ways...

Nice video. Thanks for uploading. Your comments beginning at 21:41 don't match up with the video at 3:05. The original key looks like it had a panic button.
Nice. One time I had 2018 or 2019 Accord (add key) which didn't wan't to to take second key (KD, VVDI) no matter what I did. I was lucky didn't brick BCM, original key still was working and I left car alone eventually. Watching this video I confirmed that I done right thing :) Sometimes better not to make any money than insist and get huge headache at the end.
I believe the autel stores the v.i.n. in a database from the car it hooks up to ,so they know what machine hooked up to which car .So if they start coming up stolen they know who the registered owner of the key tool is.
Took me 4 hours but was able to add original key and an aftermarket key with the im608. Similar scenario customer try adding his own aftermarket key with a launch tool and bricked it. After many attepts with different options i was able to do ID register and reset and was able to add oem key then second key. 4 hours of pressing buttons.
@ADVANCEDLEVELAUTO got there at 6 pm and close to 10 pm was ready to leave when it worked. Tried multiple programmers more than once. Finally, the last attempt with im608 made it. The customer was really appreciative and paid me almost twice what I asked. My dedication and determination paid off at the end. We both left happy, and I gained a new customer and referrals for my hard work. 😁😁.

On 18-up Accords, mostly 2020-up Autel will cause this problem, propad will if you hit "yes" when it asks you if it's a newer model and smart pro I've never had a problem with either.
All you have to do is first do PCM/ECM replacement then in step 2 do BCM or IMMO setup. You should be good to program OEM keys by selecting yes for new BCM. You are getting error because your BCM is not synched with ECM , once you reset it exchange the information. Hope this helps
This is a great video worth saving. I only have one car (2020 Toyota RAV 4) so I'm not looking to buy the programming tools right now. Plus I don't have locksmith licenses. IF in the future I need these tools and training, where do you start for vehicle key programming?
I did a 2019 Honda Accord Prox key a couple days ago. Before I got a warning there was a "severe system problem". There was a VSA light on the dash. It programmed in like normal. It was a Ti Key Easy key, and added her dealer key back. Everything was fine until she got on the road and every fault was popping up related to VSA stabilty, ABS, Brake, Tires and whole Christmas tree. I made plans to revisit the car the next day, but she called back and said everything was normal again and not to worry about it. I don't think this was related to using an Aftermarket tool. I think there's a common problem that's all over RUclips with Honda and VSA. Edit: She did say that issue was not there before though. I recommend running a scanner for fault codes on all these later model Hondas and generating a report.
You checked the orginal key tho?, if its already been programmed all i had that been that has been locked, and needed soldering to unlock to get it programmed again. Fun video to watch.

Personally I've yet to run into this issue with programming smart keys to Honda 2019 and up yet but I also stick to using XHorse for doing the vehicle key programming. There's no mention in the XHorse protocols about using an older or newer system. It just over-rides the start button and gets into the programming. The plastic around the old immobilizer ring and the ignition was damaged when someone attempted to steal my car. I put the old immobilizer on and placed the old key next to the damaged ignition ring while trying to start the car with the new key, and it will not start. The key symbol is showing. Coincidentally, my old key will not automatically open the doors any longer. Will I need to pair a replacement immobilizer to the ECU as well as the new keys? Do you know of a reasonably priced scan tool that can pair the immobilizer as well as the keys? Since the keys are cut for the new ignition, my old master key is probably useless other than being able to manually open the car door.
try being in a "clueless dealership" situation. had a Mitsubishi with a "five things people throw away when getting rid of a car™" situation (in this case, it's the 'every key but the one being actively used' version), in which only the *valet key* survived changing hands. the SUV developed a jammed hatch situation (old age wiring problem), but had a keyhole for the hatch just in case. and as we all know, a Valet key only works in the ignition and door locks, nowhere else. had my parents call a local dealership to attempt to get a new key from the VIN, and they were so used to keyfob editions that they did not properly check the package to see if it even HAD a fob type. the model, a base, doesn't even have running lights, let alone a reciever of any kind. the vehicle had been demoted to Farm Truck for obvious reasons, and can't even be used for THAT.
1) Did you check to see if factory remote was unlocked? 2) Did call the dealership to confirm the correct remote? 3) Did you try to reset the computer by disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes?
