Dear the best part about getting older is the confidence you gain from the discovery that other people’s opinions don’t matter at all. At 67, I still love fashion as much as I did in my 20s when I was at uni majoring in fashion merchandising. But now, I have the money and taste to wear better quality clothes that speak to the person I am now. Don’t get stuck at any one age. Nothing is worse than a woman in her forties dressing like a child.
I totally agree. I am 55 and have always had a very good sense of colour, style and proportion, and love and look good in all of my clothes, because I choose with care and pay for the best version I can afford. The great thing about this age is that I totally know what looks good on me and couldn't care less what anyone else thinks about it anyway!
Nikki! So we'll put. I agree (at age 73). I don't ever want to get stuck in outdated looks...as proof it's a positive viewpoint for me, friends and strangers always guess I'm 50-ish. I'll take it! 😉 I clearly do not advocate styling oneself in an obvious "too young" way. Rather, define your own style uniforms, i.e., those that make you feel great and communicate who you are.
This might be my favorite of your videos yet! I love how you share your previous "faux pas" and your "before" photos. And for me, your summary of your style is what I would love for mine to be: Minimalistic BUT bold! Casual YET chic! Right now my biggest challenge is to get my coloring right! I like a lot of your "before" styles, in the context of the decade and your age at the time; however, they were clearly "on trend," where now, your style is "timeless, yet stylish." That is what I want! :) Thank you for your help and inspiration!
Oh my goodness, I relate so much to this video- the evolution of stying myself in my 40s. I finally feel like I found my style, I'm confident about it, yet always learning how to improve how I feel in my clothes.
I had my colour and image done 30 years ago. It changed my life! My self esteem rose and I’ve been evolving ever since. Adding modern touches to my clothing style. It changed focus when I retired. X
When will the fashion and entertainment industries start hard focusing on what men look like thru the aging decades? Anything people see over & over again eventually becomes a reality. I'm weary of females being valued by youthful age and physical appearance. Local news stations in my area disappear women at about age 38, yet men remain on air until they retire at around ages 70+. The on-air age disparity looks ridiculous.
Thank you for sharing your opinion. I do believe though that now women are valued and admired at any age and there are so many great examples not even among celebrities but in real life. I think that it’s the perception of the woman of her own age and appearance that makes her vulnerable caring about what others think or absolutely confident and advanced regardless social opinion.
I hear you ans I might be misinterpreting your comment but we cannot make things better by diminishing men. And I think women have come a long, long way. I think that femininity and sensuality is ok in women and long gone are the days when we were looked at as just a piece of meat. There are millions and millions of women online making videos for every audience and as women become older they do start embracing motherhood; although there are many carreers where older women are highly valued, fashion being just one of them. Medicine, business, nursing are also high paying carreers where women become more valuable as they age.
@@Trythish , point I was trying to make is that society does tend to devalue and/or disappear women as we age, but it rarely happens to men. Hence the example that I provided. We can try to deny it but it's the truth. Men are not judged by the same standard.
I love this FREE information that helps me to feel more stylish and hence more confident at 63 ...so THANKYOU Diana for your wonderful time saving money saving valuable information ...I love your style and your channel which I have just recently come across.
Diana thank you for such a beautiful and inspiring video! I loved how you showed your outfits from the past and explained how you would adjust them nowadays. RUclips is a much better place now that you are here!❤
Diana, I am really loving this content and your terrific styling advice. Thanks for all this hard work! I especially enjoy seeing items in your closet still in use a year later in other videos and the implicit reminder that I don't have to keep buying, I just need to re-imagine.
Congratulations on your channel Diana. I really enjoyed your video and I love your style! I am in my 40s and from Hong Kong. Look forward to more of your videos!
Diana...your style is amazing. I learned so much from watching just 2 of your videos...I just found you. Now, I'm obsessed and can't wait to watch your next presentation. Thank you so much for the insights and inspiration.
Your style really speak to me. Thank you for sharing all those ideas. It would be great if you can put links on the items you are wearing if available or similar ones?
Just discovered your channel. Really enjoying the format and your no non-sense yet modern approach to pull looks together. Love your polished and more European style as well. Merci et au plaisir de voir la prochaine capsule.
First of all I would like to congratulate you on the launch of your RUclips channel! What an amazing start! Every new step we take in our lives is a small personal achievement! 💖
I just discovered your channel & I love it! I was in a style rut! I’m 62yrs, 115lbs, & fit. Yesterday I bought myself a smart white button down shirt, silky cargo pants in deep olive, & a neutral cardigan w/ a straight lapel collar that hits @ my hip, so longish crop. I never would have picked these items up before, but when I tried them on, they were perfect! Thank you!
I am 56 and have developed problems with my feet in the last few years. It has been difficult changing my style and wardrobe to accommodate all flats. As you do videos, will you keep in mind people who cannot wear heels of any sort? I could use some ideas! Thanks.
When I was younger I wore all kinds of costume type outfits…It felt like armor to me. As in, even if someone didn’t like it, it didn’t matter because it wasn’t really me anyway. As I’ve grown both in age (39) and in confidence I find myself more and more comfortable dressing as my true self. Being vulnerable to people’s judgement and assessment of me. I know my shape, I know my lifestyle, and I know my coloring. I don’t have to try to fit into someone else’s shape, life and coloring to feel good or to live up to some ideal! This video was so helpful and also edifying!
Loved this video! You have great style and communicate in a cool, chic authentic way, which includes the background music.😊Just subscribed and looking forward to many more stylish videos!
Hola Diana!, I'm Heidi, from Argentina. I came across your videos today and I really like the tips you share with us, the way you present the information and how you wrap it up in the end. In this video in particular, I also enjoyed how you reflected on how your style and your perception of it evolved. Here you deliver a very interesting viewpoint on what our style should be according to our own evolution and not what is expected according to our age. I'm 46, plus size, it's quite difficult to find clothes for me here, so I'd appreciate any tips you'd share, I've recently been to Madrid and could by some items, but it's not something you can do every season. Thanks in advance! :) Gracias.
Hey Heidi! Thank you for such a detailed feedback, I am really flattered😊 as for the tips, my next video is about working with the silhouette and proportions. Tuesday evening, will be curious to hear your opinion on it.
Love love love your outfits! I would really like to especially know where I can purchase the knee length off-white shift dress with wide shoulders and also the stunning floor length black dress with side slit and cut-out waist.
Did I see “Diana” written on your Snickers? Soooo cooool!! Diana, we all supporting you will all our heart❤️ Amazing style and music, feel the vibes of Sex in the city💋🍸👗
Nice video Diana, your right its best to dress to your body shape in the right colours to one's skin undertone with the fabric just right. You look fab and for 40, forty is the new 20 so, ensuring one's styling is timeless and ageless that's key👍🏼🌻
Just subscribed to your RUclips channel! Love your style and tips of how to look modern, stylish, chic and elegant. Can you also add makeup tips as well, loved your flawless look. Looking forward to seeing many more of your videos!❤️
Just came across your channel. Subscribed! Can you please tell us where the first white dress is from, and the shoes that you wore with the long (cutout) black dress?
You just know how to get things right for any occasion it seems Diana!!!!! I really admire your style. I feel at 61 that I am quite good at dressing UP but I'm really bad at dressing DOWN and i usually end up feeling scruffy. I am going on a Norwegian cruise in September and the weather is likely to be changeable to say the least. Layering seems to be the word everyone uses when suggesting what to wear when off the ship in ports. I am sure that most people will wear jeans, trainers or boots, hoodies and raincoats but i don't feel "dressed" enough like that but at the same time that is exactly what is needed as you have to be practical when it could be cold and raining one minute or hot and sunny the next. My biggest worry is footwear and length of bottoms. Could you show me what you would wear in such a situation please. I would really appreciate your help.
Hi Diana, I am new to your videos & I really enjoy your contents!..I love your style & your Hairstyle is just fabulous!!!....I will continue to look forward to more of your inspiring content!!!..thank you for your effort, from Margaret in South Australia!!!
Beautiful and elegant. I love your style and advice. May I ask where you found the white mini dress/shift dress in the first segment? I’ve been looking for something just like that and its gorgeous. I’d also love to know where you found the beige button-down dress you are wearing throughout the episode.
Hi Diana, just discovered your channel and subscribed. Thank-you so much for some incredible insight on the style mistakes I'd been making and how to correct them. You are gorgeous and I just love the lipstick shade you are wearing in this video. Can you please share the shade and brand?
great video, very useful tips! looking forward to seeing more of it on your channel….and i couldn’t mention that i looooove how you present everything- the music, typing on your laptop is brilliant, so sex and the city vibe (of course i may be biased coz its my favorite tv series of all times) ; i hope your channel grows fast and you create more of such inspiring videos ❤
I spent many years trying to buy things that I felt were unique and attention grabbing with the goal of being more stylish. It took me a long time to realize that I was shopping for the person I hoped to be and none of the garments took into account the person I am in coloring, body type, etc. I do the same thing with cooking tools and exercise related paraphernalia. It took so long to learn that I was purchasing for my aspirations far too frequently and it ended up being so wasteful because I don't enjoy cooking very much, I am intimidated by those cutting edge clothes that don't make me look my best, and there are some exercise equipment I know in my heart of hearts I will not use. I learned this lesson and forgot it so many times. I am finally able to see what I am about to do and recalibrate so I don't just compound the expense on items that don't fit who I truly am.
I’ve really been enjoying all the styling hacks and wisdom in your videos Diana! You look amazing in all your edgy outfits 😍. I wonder if you could give me some advice please? My son is getting married in June. I don’t want to wear a traditional frumpy mother-of-the-groom outfit. What would you wear if yours was getting married? (Luckily he’s not at that stage yet! 😉) Do your normal rules of pairing feminine with masculine and edgy elements apply to wedding outfits?
I love your videos but could you please list where the items you wear in your videos are from, I've been looking for the leather trousers in one of your outfit suggestions and I can't find them anywhere, I looked for the white dress and can't find that, I even love the leather outfit that you wear to narrate the video and im struggling to find any of the items you rock in the videos x
I am in my late 40's and I still make style mistakes. Sure, I have a closet that serves me well. I know my style. I know how to flattter my body. I have a host of tried and true, timeless outfits that I could just use and reuse. But I also follow what is going on in fashion and am constantly updating my style and trying new ideas. The day one stops making mistakes is the day one has stopped learning. It's a sad thing.
Thank you for sharing your personal color palette with us..cool, medium bright. Can you please share with us your personal body type and height so that we have a reference? Thanks so much for your truly expert style advice. All along I believe that style is what makes the person look fabulous and it has absolutely nothing to do with trends!!! I've seen rich women walking out of stores in Beverly Hills spending thousands looking awful. Money does not equal style, right??!
Rule 1: be slim! I’ve lost 60lbs and clothes looks so much better now. I also have so many more looks to choose from. Being a size 6 is so much better than a size 18!

Do you share what you are wearing in the videos?
New here, so glad I found you…or you found me 😊
Love the striped sweater! Brand please.
Such a beautiful lady love your video
Where is ur top from please
Thank you for sharing your personal color palette with us..cool, medium bright. Can you please share with us your personal body type and height so that we have a reference? Thanks so much for your truly expert style advice. All along I believe that style is what makes the person look fabulous and it has absolutely nothing to do with trends!!! I've seen rich women walking out of stores in Beverly Hills spending thousands looking awful. Money does not equal style, right??!
I want the outfit you have one right now.
Rule 1: be slim! I’ve lost 60lbs and clothes looks so much better now. I also have so many more looks to choose from. Being a size 6 is so much better than a size 18!
