- Follow our voyage aboard Julia, a traditionally built wooden sailboat, as we cross the Sea of Cortez and head east to the mainland side for a haul-out in Guaymas. The journey continues south along the coast to the vibrant city of Mazatlan where we explore the town and make final provisions for our Pacific Ocean crossing west, our biggest adventure yet.
Julia is an Atkin designed Ingrid ketch. She is a traditional wooden boat, constructed of fir and cedar on oak, built in Desolation Sound in 1960.

I love how a wooden boat is actually another person in a video. Your boat is alive for sure. Love the non showiness
Nice sailboat, wooden classic design sailboat ⛵️ Congratulations

Sailing in Mexico is very beautiful .
Greetings from the beautiful city Punta Arenas Antarctica Patagonia Chile 🇨🇱
You are two very brave souls for attempting to cross the mighty Pacific in such a small boat. This is an amazing adventure and a real test of your endurance.

You’re obviously a reader, your tone and language suggests the classics in terms of voyage diaries. Very well done. Thanks
What great videos you guys are making. When are we going to see a boat tour of this beautiful boat? Come on guys, it's time you showed us this vessel that is going to take you out into the Pacific.
Yes, we should probably do a boat tour when we get to a quiet anchorage somewhere along the way. Stay tuned!
Yes please!
@@MadisonBoatworkswas gonna ask same question
Love your vids. Beautiful shots, great music, and the minimal narration is just right. Safe travels.
I watched this just after the Pacific crossing video. Yes; excellent format. It's all meat and no fluff. Fantastic stuff.
Some of the best sun set and rise photos ever, well done
👍
I'm just in awe watching your videos not just for your sailing expedition but for the apex quality of photography. Were you guys professional film makers before becoming sailors? Amazing Photography!
First class video! Subscribed. This is what sailing life is without the filler vloggers put it there. Fair winds and seas to you!
You make great videos! So happy you've made the decision to sail west! A long passage but paradise awaits! Stay safe!
Exciting news, beautiful video. Can't wait for the next one. 👏👍⛵🌊
Great music, great video, and great storyline
Vaya con dios mi amigos. I've dreamed of sailing to the Marquesas Islands but every time I get on a boat I'm sea sick. Can't wait to see how it all plays out for you.
I always dreamt of sailing. Guess it's never too late to start....
Gotta do this...
Well done! Cheers
That boat of yours sure do make the ocean look good, no matter where you sail it. Best of luck on your voyages. Regards Jarle

You've got yourself a new vlog fan! I just love your beautiful ship and your videos and accompanying music. Love it!
Wonderful adventures.
glad I found your channel. You cats are groovy. Real salty dogs in the making.
I just found your channel last week a very nice change from so many other click bait channels real people real sailing in a beautiful boat what a great idea
Love your boat, and your skin on frame dingy! So nice to see people cruising on a traditional wood boat with a traditional rig and using a dingy with just oars. A pair of Shaw and Tenny spoon blades would probably help you allot. Also love the home made wind vane. Safe voyage
The Boat loves you !!!
Well done!
You have the best sailing channel on you tube. Great narration, great photography, and you pick excellent music. And you don't feel the need to make all your opening scenes a beautiful bikini clad woman. Even though you are both attractive people. Well done, to both of you!😊
Hello just first time watching you're doing a great job with your storytelling and awesome photography great video I'm looking forward to watching
So excited to see your voyage to the south pacific. My partner and I are just fitting our boat out now with the same goal. Hopefully we can follow in your footsteps in a few years.
Great job
Fuck yeah Guaymas. My native city. That taco shop is named El Doney, good food.
What happens in 😂
Stays in. 🎉
WOW 😍
Brilliant story and photography. Where have you two been? I watched this three times.
Ini kisah yg sangat hebat....
Perjalanan yang sangat menyenangkan
Marquesas? Seattle? A simple, but not easy, choice. If we were 30 years younger...
Love your channel
Wow..That's 4 months supply of Beer aswell 🤔 40/30Pacs..1200 cans of Beer..should be good...glad you were able to find the room..& water, 300 gallons? 🤔 Just watched your videos. Nice👌 Dig your style, hope you had a Guitar with you...Did you stop at the Hawaiian Islands on your way to the Polynesian Islands ? I'm thinking most likely Not or you would have had some film footage.. Splendid Videos.💚😎. Enjoy
It is good to see you 2 again. A change of mind and direction is not uncommon for those at sea, excitement calls. I for one love the idea of your fine Wooden vessel visiting the Marcasus. Wind to your back!
👍👍👍
Name remembered; Ingrid!
While you were in the sea of Cortez, did you go to a small fishing village called Agua Verde? It has very significant landmark in it’s Bay, Rocka Solitaria, the very tall spire rock.
Thanks for sharing your sailing adventures, if you are can ? Please share details about your SOF dinghy regards RC out of Sydney
You certainly get the award for the best cinematography of any sailing videos. Absolutely beautiful, music choices superb. My only complaints where your pronunciation of the names Mazatlan and Guaymas. But you still get an A+! Fantastic journey. Keep it going
May I ask what varnish you use? Great videos by the way!
What is the concluding piece of music (piano)? Thank you. BTW, another beautiful video.
And thumps up to your father. !!!!
Did you design the wind vane yourself, or did you find plans on how to make it? It looks awesome.
Amazing video and I am 100% jealous of your adventure. But am I the only one at 9:20 who though he lost an arm?
💯❤⚓🖖
I like the look of your dinghy. Is it canvas over wooden frames?
Fair winds and best wishes.
Yes, it is a skin on frame boat. It is the Anabelle design by Dave Gentry.
Is your boat (name unknown) built to Bill Atkin’s famous double-ended design? (Name forgotten).
Rick Steves vibes
Hi can you tell me the make of Julia .
