    To increase the spread, a piece of baking paper held onto a Speedlight with a rubber band works well. And can be positioned close to the head or a few inches away.

    good video. it adds an extra step, but using an s-bracket will bring your flash down a little closer to center.

    As someone very new but very much enjoying light experimentation this was a super video. Looking at the Godox site I think I must have their round head diffuser (in a pack). OK, I have the Neewer version but it looks the same. Neither site infers a wide angle as such, but I aim to find out exactly how it performs after this. Thanks again.

    Hello John! Thank You for the absolutely informative video, as I've been browsing through. New to the channel and very impressed how you manage it. No fuzz and down to the point. Time is of essence as I'm sure that we share, among other subscribers, the same thought. Cheers

    U shaped umbrella holders saved umbrellas for me being able to center the flash right in the middle made a big difference at least to my eyes for some reason they are kind of hard to find though i use the black and white ones

    I put a Sto-Fen Omni Bounce dome over my speedlight in order to distribute the light evenly over my 40-inch diameter umbrella.

      i do a similar thing - i use a magsphere. but i think my umbrella is only 30". i guess i could go larger if needed

    I dont own an umbrella yet, but im looking at getting one. I do have a v860iii and the godox dome that kinda pops in/out and was thinking about testing it like your diffuser attachment to shoot light as much as possible in an 180° arc into the umbrella. At least it seems like there's some evidence to suggest here it may work.

    • @kaskoPhoto
      @kaskoPhoto  Год назад

      It will work, just reduce the power a little. Def try it. And pick up an inexpensive umbrella - they all do the same thing.

      The only one I’ve used is the Profoto - but I’m sure Godox has their own. Remember, use the wide angle over the dome

    Re your comment "With umbrella speedlight brackets, your flash head is almost always off-center from your flash" - not true anymore, as we can use the wonderful "S type" speedlite brackets which put the flash head far more centrally to the brolly (if you get the exact right type - the godox one seems to do this best)

    What is the wide diffuser you’re using?

    • @kaskoPhoto
      @kaskoPhoto  Год назад

      It’s the Profoto wide angle gel - but I think you have to find them used or old new stock - I believe they discontinued them because some had issues with them coming apart.

      Profoto actually discontinued the wide lens adapter when they came out with the A10, but you can still find them for sale online at places. I ordered a bunch about a year and a half ago when they were marked down for "clearance" because the first one I had came apart after my first time using it (the magnet is stronger than the glue they use to sandwich the pieces of the adapter together).
