FINALLY the best hobby in the world getting TV recognition. It honestly is a skilled and scientific enough thing to qualify for actual ESPN coverage and I really do mean that. Alot of engineering, technology, money, practice, tuning and so on goes into this. Those are not toys, many rc cars can smoke your favorite sports cars up to 60 mph and even faster.
I love the r/c commercials....They need to be pushed out more. I like how the track is so gnarly. Hopefully this can become a annual event. Camera work and announcers do keep it interesting.
RC tracks should be in every city park just like skate parks, BmX parks, basketball courts, tennis courts etc. Not necessarily for nitro but for electric cars to run. 🤷🏻♂️
The best would be if LiveRC didn't have such a monopoly or tracks were dual streaming on twitch/youtube. Young people don't have cable, they just watch everything through streaming.
@@TheR1cksteras always monopolies ruins everything including ppls livelihoods and the proper functioning of capitalism. Thank politicians for that, especially reps.
Great video! Love seeing the potential of RC hitting the mainstream - it's seriously what the industry needs. With that, maybe more behind the scenes, antics, drama, personalities would be great. Remember the Bornhorst "Track's got Character" from 5150? Also excited to see Maifield going to Tekno RC. That should be a winning combo right there!
Ryan Lutz is a absolute class act. Need more racers like him, need more humans like him in the 🌎 . Hats off to you sir Ryan Lutz you are a inspiration to many.
I've been into RC since the OG Tamiya days and love this. But, I know it's more cameras and complexity, but consider showing the top 2 or 3 drivers while they are driving in PIP on screen. This will engage us more and allow us to see the "drivers", not just cars going around a track.
Back in the early 2000's, there was a show called 'RCTV'. Lasted a year. They did everything rc. Everything surface, air & water. On 'LiveRC', they DO stream all the state up races.
I agree that negativity is bad. But just like F1 and NASCAR, once fans develop a favorite driver, it ups the intensity. I’m all for a “little” in your face back and forth after the race. Just as long as it doesn’t get physical.
I bought an arrma Typhon 6s and a Traxxas stampede kit for my 5.5 year old. He loved building it. And I've been running my arrma pretty hard core lately. Custom paint job, carbon fiber upgrades, hot racing aluminum upgrades 😀
I still have my 1/8 buggy and truggy. O’Donnell Z01B, Futaba 3PK 2.4ghz FASST radio and Spektrum servos. Have a bench tested and ported for racing engine. Problem is: all the tracks closed down and all of the hobby stores went tits up. Making hard to get fuel and parts. I didn’t/don’t see a reason now when the tracks are gone and prior to them closing, the cut down all of the shade trees and you will cook your brains out in S. Idaho, in the summer. I loved driving and racing and it is awesome seeing nitro cars being driven, not replaced by batteries. Killer video! 😉🤘🤙
I’m new to RC (2.5 months) never seen the racing scene before, but I’m a mass of F1 fan. This was so much more entertaining than I had ever hoped it could be lol, even have the George Russell/Valtteri Bottas scuffle drama at the end lmfao! Consider me thoroughly entertained!!
You are at an elevated level when you're racing these cars! I compare it to borderline road rage! So my rule is what happens on the driver stand stays on the driver stand...
The driving skill in battle for the lead in the last few laps was outstanding. The sportsmanship is over the top, though. When Mayfield blasted Lutz down the main straight for the lead 999/1000 drivers would have taken him out at the next chicane (Verstappen?), but Lutz was a pro about it. It went both ways really. great stuff.
I live 30min from this place, and had no idea this was happening. They have to advertise better. I wish Mid America would keep a track and start hosting more races. I could see me ditching my carpet cars for dirt.
They said that was their plan. Though not sure that it happened. I know they wanted to make it better for '23 so perhaps they are going to expand in and then leave it and have a local scene there.
The sport definitely needs this, however I hope that it will gain traction in ratings and eventually end up on a reputable network, this would have been perfect on the mid 2000s when the sport was really booming!! Lets hope we can get it to grow again, because this coverage platform it has potential if done correctly, the best thing we all can do is share the crap out of this and put it out there! Fingers crossed!
Takes me back to my days of racing 10th Scale electric, 4x4 open class. 87/88 somewhere around there. It was fun!! That was back in the day when you actually had to assemble the entire car itself. That gave you a better understanding of how everything worked. I had a Kyosho Optima chain drive 4x4 buggy. We would buy the batteries and assemble our own battery packs, some 6 cell and some 7 cell packs. My dad later on tried to get my nephew into racing the 8th scale nitro buggies, but he didn't take to it well, not really something that he was interested in.
great coverage but they need better cameras, better stills and slow-mo shots, and set up the race better, show us who is in what position and why we should care
This is one of them things that make you appreciate the human spirit. Especially after covid lockdowns I have a new appreciation for humans just having good clean fun together as a species.
I will watch every episode of 1/8 scale racing on TV. If they had a 1/10 nitro stadium truck racing i bet every 40 year old racer would watch it hahaha
Given the cost of real estate across the country it's always been difficult for people to build tracks. There is not much money in this sport for track owners and even hobby shop owners to justify the added expense of lease / buy land to maintain a track.
F'n fantastic. Hopefully the next few years of this event ope. The door for more Commercial RC media. Maybe one day the ROAR Nats and IFMAR WORLD will get 1-2hr recap/breakdowns .
I'm a fan of offroad racing so you've already won me, but that aggression shown off track by Mayfield was not a good look for a sport that is trying to win families into the hobby. For one of, if not the greatest offroad rc drivers of all time Ryan Mayfield needs to pull his head in and show some professionalism. Makes me sad to be a Tekno driver if he is their poster boy. I am all for people arguing their point, but he was physically threatening Tessmann, who from the footage I saw wasn't really in the wrong there, a racing incident would sum it up for me. Super exciting racing and so happy for Jared Wiggins he has been a great asset for Tekno doing a lot for the brand. Shame that Tebo has not seen enough success to keep him in the team. Great racing, and really well covered, I hope this really takes off for the mainstream.
He picked the right buggy. Mugen is the way to go for racing. I have ran Durango, Team Associated, Losi 8, and an Ofna. My mugen was the best. Never ran a kyosho though. Team Associated and the Ofna were the worst for control and the durango broke all the time. Losi 8 was good but the mugen was next level.
This was great coverage and it needs to be expanded is what the RC community needs to keep it going. Is where the young can have an interested in expanding the mechanical skills. Great Job keep them coming. 👍
As an indoor RC carpet track racer when I was in my late teens (now in my 50's), I have to say that the skill of these drivers is amazing (what a blast to watch).
I had hoped this level of production and "TV" ready r/c racing would have taken off durring "Covid" 2020 when sports channels were literally playing professional cornhole tournaments all day long because no other sports were playing.
So good to see such a professional production, of course the professional drivers matter but the exceptional camera work and editing are just as important for the spectator experience. just loving it.
He really is. I race at his home track and see him pretty often, and I can confidently say he’s a great guy. Occasionally lets younger guys try out his 1/8 buggy, always willing to help out with advice and setup knowledge. A real class act 👏🏻
this is great, the only thing missing is some original music, or some cool licensed pop or rock music, or a live band playing at the event to attract more people.

Man this needs to be on TV just like every racing platform. They did this so good. The hobby/sport needs this.
This premiered on MavTv a few weeks ago.
Pretty sure this was in the summer if I remember them posting the podium shots their personal facebooks
If the media can show poker tournaments for hours, then there's no reason why RC racing shouldn't be televised
TV is dead!
Yes!!
Ken stout is a legend. literally has covered every kind of motorsport with the same passion. He is awesome
Heck yeah
💯

OK this is the best video coverage of RC cars since the old days of Speed TV and the RC show.
RC tracks should be in every city park just like skate parks, BmX parks, basketball courts, tennis courts etc. Not necessarily for nitro but for electric cars to run. 🤷🏻♂️
Low chance of injury lol. I think rc could do good in schools. They can teach you a lot, and you can let your creativity out in them.
That would be dope
Can't just have electric cars allowed. Nitro is the GLORY!!!
I'm building an RC track and RC crawler course that will be open to the public.
👍
We need this kind of coverage every year out in the public eye. Great job.
The best would be if LiveRC didn't have such a monopoly or tracks were dual streaming on twitch/youtube. Young people don't have cable, they just watch everything through streaming.
I don't think it's the coverage being an issue, people probably just think it's boring, low risk

Cable cams, drone cams. Very Pro. We need this here in SoCal area.

Too kind. Thank you for the kind words! 😊
Ryan lutz is probably the only person that makes driving rc cars look cool
Totally agree. I always feel that he's a embassador to Rc. Ryan has a lot of fans.
first time here, and i just had a blast of this fun time 360°.
I've been into RC since the OG Tamiya days and love this. But, I know it's more cameras and complexity, but consider showing the top 2 or 3 drivers while they are driving in PIP on screen. This will engage us more and allow us to see the "drivers", not just cars going around a track.
the coverage on this event is top notched. Professionally done. Wanna see more of this in the future.
Rc deserves this. It has for many decades. The hobby is fun, educational, family friendly, competitive indeed, and accessable. Awesome to see this...
Facts!! I can't wait to get more RC Cars and Trucks!! 😃
This is the kind of coverage our sport needs!! This would help it grow and keep local tracks open.
rc is not a sport
I've enjoyed RC since the 80's. With that being said, this is not a sport, it's a hobby. Huge difference.
Back in the early 2000's, there was a show called 'RCTV'. Lasted a year.
They did everything rc. Everything surface, air & water.
On 'LiveRC', they DO stream all the state up races.
Great to see RC Getting great exposure.
Great to hear your voice as part of it! Awesome job as always Scotty.
@@davidcunningham3 Thanks Dave, I appreciate it. I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Not sure how I feel about pushing the drama. If that’s what it takes for RC to go mainstream I think we’re good without it
yep i think we have enough drama in the world.
they have to keep it with a guy announcer as soon as you put a female involved its over.
@@archie_bunker I’m not sure I agree with that at all. Most female announcers actually get more attention IMO
@@Kevin_Morales which ones?

Wow, familiar voice I didn't expect announcing this! great stuff
So they have a vintage class?
I’d love to see some Grasshoppers, Optimas, RC 10’s, Hotshots again
Hellyeah !! Lets see them cover the Dirt Nitro Challenge in February. Put Scotty Ernst on the mic !
I am so glad we got Ken Stout on the Mic. I have been watching and listening to him for years and let me tell ya, he loves motorsports genuinely!
Awesome footage - I didn't even know this was a thing. Well covered and very professional production.

Great race coverage and production value. Covered just as a real race should be.
Terrific coverage and amazing driving skills. This is how RC racing should be broadcast on TV. Well Done!

Ryan Mayfield's actions were detestable. There were people still racing! What a child.

used to race rc back in the days of jrx2 and rc10 cars.. these current ones are on an insane level by comparison..things have improved so much!

There is real talent here.
Lewis Hamilton started in RC racing.
Do not underestimate it.
You know your big time when Ken Stout is at your race.
It's like when Jim Cantore shows up in your town. You know you have something big coming. Lol
Not even into RCs like that but this is hella enteraining! And i can acknowledge the amount of skill it takes to drive these machines
I really support this because it's gets everyone outdoors
I would love if they had a tv series on rc life from shop owners meets/races, racers it’ll be dope!!!
There wouldn't be any attractive women on that show lol
So sick to see RC racing getting out in the world
Excellent Broadcast and reintroduction to a great hobby and pastime. Now with real money for those who like the challenge.

This is great to see! Love this hobby👍👍
I want to see a PRO-AM where anybody can race anything from tamiya tanks to the most anodized Losi concoction.
If they can have drone racing on tv, they definitely need rc car racing.
Hopefully they can get onboard live footage tech in future races, that woud be cool.
THIS is awesome! Keep pushing and pushing!
This is actually awesome. Also, ken stout murdered it. So did the other announcer too tbh
Hopefully this takes off we need this
