8th scale nitro on-road is the ORIGINAL RC class--the first production cars came out in 1969-1970. This is still the hardest, most expensive, most technical and arguably most exciting race class in all of RC. No rubber tires, foam only, HUGE downforce from the Can-Am style bodies, quick release wheels. It is one class I never tried but want to a some point. The other oldest class is 1/12 on road; that class came to be because of weather in the midwest. Racers still wanted to race in the winter but unlike Southern California they couldn't race outdoors year round. So a few guys took a small chassis, rechargeable ni-cad batteries and motors from a Dustbuster rechargeable vacuum cleaner and they wound up running them on gym floors and office carpet indoors. 1/12 scale electric wound up becoming the MOST difficult electric class to master! 1/8 scale nitro on-road and 1/12 scale electric on-road are the grandaddy of all rc car racing.
For those that think these are just toys, my latest Capricorn 1/10 scale electric touring car is probably $2000 soup to nuts, not including tool, batteries, chargers, radio. The top drivers make good money and are paid to travel to international races sometimes up to 180 days out of the year traveling. RC racing is ACTUAL racing--it is an ADDICTION but it isn't easy; if it were easy everyone would do it!
I’m happy to see rc getting a lot of love on RUclips. This commentary is on point.
This is so amazing. I was 35 when I discovered RC three years ago. So many lost years. Doing my best to share this amazing hobby with all my pals.
Naaa it is unfortunate it took so long for you to find but I'd say enjoy the heck out of it, welcome to the very fun rc world 👌
Enjoy it whether u can get more in or not.
I used to do this in the off season when I was racing motorcycles. It’s such good racing.
Our business was started in 1997 when two R/C rivals met & joined forces. We haven't raced R/C in a long time, but we haven't forgotten our roots. Enjoy!
omg, i first raced when I was 12
Commentary is excellent! Amazing coverage!
Seroiusly, I've never seen RC coverage like this, very cool.
props to the camera man. keeping up with the cars flying around this track at insane speeds.
Wow. Brain-melting 60 minutes of racing at that pace! 💀🔥
This was so much fun to watch! the commentary really kept the viewer engaged on every lap! keeping this type of focus for 60 minutes is incredible!
Really cool, sounds like a real. Race commentary, great job, guys🏁🏁🏁
I used to race in slot car competitions and from which I manage to earn a trophy. It required a lot of concentration. But in this category the cars are not guided in said slots. So the skill to drive here requires another level of concentration. And good eyes too! Simply amazing! 👀
Exactly..we soldered our own chassis designs, added body and there we go. Inexpensive fun..cool tracks
The sheer consistency of these drivers at this kind of lap pace is simply incredible!
I did this for 20 years, still excited to watch!
Big up´s for the guys behind the cameras. Awsome job!
for this kind of racing 60 fps is a must
Wow, I really really miss the old days. I raced at Ranch Pit Shop and Outlaw R/C in San Bernardino. The first R/C race I ever seen was in Abilene Tx at the mall parking lot. They're started the cars with a upside down Bicycle spinning wheel. My first Gas Car, a Jerobee 049 CanAm style car. Back in the 90's I raced Associated RC 500's and Deltas...2WD...Ron Paris OS Motors, Kraft Box Radios with a wheel. Then Kraft/KO pistols grips, Airtronics,,, Then Ranch brough the Serpents in...and it changed everything...Most of us were 12th scale racers too...
They were racing rc panstyle since 70s. Its amazing.
I’ve never seen anything like this:) The concentration and lack of wrecking is 🤯.
These guys are so skilled not one misstep absolutely perfect racing
jeez. Are they really? Those 2 cars seem so much faster.
Interesting commentary, nice to hear more normal commentary vs the Scotty Ernst commentary that is so prevalent.
Thanks for this
Grande Dario! Ancora una volta l’Italia davanti a tutti! 🇮🇹Dovrebbero fare una Race of Champions del modellismo con te e Ongaro nella stessa squadra. Non ce ne sarebbe per nessuno😎
I still remember my old RC-500 back in the day. LOL
The daddy of all R/C car racing
I love the Nitro R/C hobby without a doubt.
These dudes are amazing! Usually in RC racing you see crashing everywhere all the time. This is like a real full scale.race
that's some dangerous driving man
Great job announcing 👏
If you slow it down to custom 85 percent it is more watchable, anything slower and the announcers start to sound drunk, which is fun also. but 100 percent is just to darn fast. IMO.
I watched it on both lol
This is amazing. It's even more fantastic if you watch it on 2X speed!
Half-speed would still be too fast for me to drive.
Wow......an engine change during a race. Pros can't do that. Amazing!!!!!!! Wonder what the g-load is like in the turns???? Awesomeness driving too
Not as high as you'd think it's around 2G. Certainly isn't F1 level styles of grip.
@@TheBaldMiddleAgedMetalHeadwrong... There's people who measured and in this category the g forces exceed 4g
@@migliavaccastefano lol. Splitting hairs buddy... Fortunately, if it were 20g's, the driver would be alright.
Damn, these guys are incredible drivers!
This track is awesome..wish having that track here
Just fantastic
awesome and so cool to see all the rc's!
Really enjoyed the commentary. Good energy and accurate reporting.
AWESOME RACE..#LIVERC
Wow I didn't know they went that fast. They look like they are attached to the track. Might have to get into this hobby as well now. Still surprised that rc is not popular enough. It's awesome to be able to do so much with a car without the risk of serious injury. I'm not including dumb mistakes and driving.
Nice production, first one of ever been able watched through. :-)
More exciting than f1. Great commentary and camera work.
The drivers must be exhausted.
E ANDIAMOOO GRANDE DARIO !!! 🚀💥💣🇮🇹❤👌🤣
ITALY NUMBER ONE !!!!! CIAO UN SALUTO LaLe.
Awesome footage!! 😎💥💪
This what I'm talking about! Wide open 🏁
Amazing skill. First time viewing.
This is awsome, are there 1/5 scale races?
There are large scale championships as well i belkeve on this youtube channel.
awesome. I saw this as a kid and was amazed. The sound and smell is amzaing too.
Worked with a pro at hobby shops in east bay area around 04to7, Roger serafin, forgot how to spell it. Sheldon's and hobby town. 1/8th scale nitro pro.
What a magnificent track! I need to get into this hobby. I remember many years ago, there was a nitro world race in my hometown of Cincinnati. Unfortunate that I was still in the army, but hey! Now I have a good job with disposable income.
the first video i had to slow down not to get motion sickness, boy are these guys fast
Thanks for the upload.
Brilliant race. That was nuts.
Grandissimo !
Thanks for this
Where do they find so many small people to drive these cars?
They're aliens.
wow, grande a tenere alti i colori dell'italia, complimenti dario..
I can't imagine the cost required to maintain a top quality car and keeping it in proper running condition with top of the line parts and equipment along with paying for travel to competition and the entry fees. You must have to have some money to be able to participate at the top level of this sport/hobby because I can't imagine the tens of thousands of dollars that goes into a whole season of racing.
This is the Formula One of Rc car racing, all the drivers in this A main race are professional Rc race drivers. This is their job and are sponsored, some have multiple sponsorship. The manufacturers supply most of if not all of these drivers👏🏼👏🏼👌🏼👌🏼
When i was a kid i used to go the Triangle in Bellaire tx to watch the guys race slot cars around a huge track.
REALMENTE IMPRESIONANTE
East meets West. RC racing is a planetary phenomenon. I’m in the Western world and hearing you loud and clear
This is astonishing
This looks like a lot of fun. 🙂
Incredible
Is the width and length of the track also to scale to real life tracks?
like watching hummingbird fights
awesome
So if those engines are turning 50,000 rpm for 60 minutes that 3 million resolutions!! Thats amazing. Not sure on the 50k. I know some engine are capable of 50k. Not sure these guys are running but wide open most of the time!
They run in the 30 k rpm range not 50
this needs to be in FPV to make it much better.
Herzlichen Glückwunsch aus Hannover.
First time ever watching this. It's awesome 👌. They should make them install a mini camera on cars like Nascar, lol
This is incredible, I would love to know how much G force they experience through the corners.
Needs footage of drivers faces, hands, split screen, viewer viewing options.....
great commentary.
Still better than F1 lol
Good race
When this developed to include Video goggles, so u can feel like ur sitting in the car.. Driving it around the track.. Then we could get ride alongs with cameras.. I guess it is a matter of time..
Wow
I thought fpv drones were fast...wow!
First time watching something like this...F'Ing iNTENSE!!!
I wanna hear little engines roar!
The cameraman needs to zoom in so we could see the cars better LOL You know sometimes zoom in and zoom out
I would like to see a goggle class. Using in car cameras.
Please upgrade to 4K video
How fast !
How fast do they go?
Brasil navegantes SC
More intense than real motorsport
Go man bun
I want to try but i think would wreck those cars moving and pitstop
Look at them throb
Fast oooo
Where’s this track
タイヤの減り具合、どうやって確認するんだろう?
気にしない?
I hate it when they ignore the entire field to focus on the leader, the whole time.
360p real?
It's still working. Higher resolution will be there soon.
How fast are these cars moving?
As fast as they can !
they are definitely flying on that track@@tonywright8294
In the commentary he said about 70mph on the straights.
Warming up it sounds like a bunch of geese. lol
Man these comments are full of Salty whiners. I ended up watching the full race, thought the commentary and presentation was pretty great for an rc race that long. The driving looked top notch.
if you cant touch an engine without burnng your hands your engine aint running right its running way to hot.
one of the sponsor is indofood, I love indomie
Apparently Indome owns Infinity. It would make sense that Indomie is sponsoring an event with Infinity drivers.
I unfortunately got out of the 1:8 RC onroad, switched to off-road in 2004, my responsiveness became too weak for the fast Edam Razor/Hotbodies..
*Blows my mind that Formula 1 car pit crews can add fuel and change those 11.5kg(about 25lbs) tyres faster (about 2 sec) then these RC guys!*
They don't add fuel in f1 anymore. Plus f1 crews have multiple guys while in 1/8 onroad they have maximum 2
@@thelag1200 *My point is, try taking a 25 lb tire off and put another one on in 2 sec! That included taking the Nut off and putting it back on!* *Even with each guy doing their own tire, that's super impressive.*
@@radicalrick9587 theres multiple guys. There is one guy who unscrews the tyre with an impact gun. The second guy rolls off the wheel. The third guy rolls a new one on, and the 1st guy screws it back on. Its not THAT impressive, the rc guys are faster
@@thelag1200 *Same point, it's even harder when you have a lot more guys around, because, as you know, it's so easy to trip over everyone, especially in a very tight space just to change a tire! Everyone has to move out of the way so the other guy can do his job then he has to move out of the way so you can do your job! They repeat this when taking the tire off and then putting it back on! WOW!* *That makes it even more impressive.*
@@radicalrick9587 i personally believe that the rc pit crews are more impressive as there are only 2 guys max and they do the work of 13 people at once and almost as fast. THAT IS IMPRESSIVE
I'm a simple Italian... English speakers pronouncing Italian names the right way and my day is a better day...
Dude that shit is hella dizzying
"He's a bad, bad man." Yeah cause it takes nerves of steel to drive a RC car. That announcer needs to get a grip sure there is some skill involved, but that's like calling a shuffle board player a the baddest man on the planet.
I'm surprised it's actually nitro. Too often do I see vids with nitro terminology and it's just electric...
these on an asphalt oval scaled to Talladega with nascar bodies...
=boring
I would rather see slower cars. Them cars are way to fast to enjoy a good race. Just sayin".
