@crappieconnection we pulled 1/16 jigs at 1.2mph with some little kicker tail grubs. We were the one guys on the lake long lining and we were the only guys with fish at the ramp too.
And by the way .I normally talk . This texting stinks . I just started trying to catch crappie . Great info . Thanks . Thanks . Maybe somebody on the miss coast needs a fishing buddy . I have a boat and trying to learn my electronics
1So here are a couple of questions . Long lining trolling have you use a downrigger on one of the poles running cranks or jigs. 2 kayak fishing spider rigging off the front does it matter going frontwards or backwards. 2a Not using a trolling motor and using a drift sock on anchor trolley do you have it in front and drift backwards. Or have it behind and bait is going forwards 3 longline trolling do you ever use live bait or would it just kill them. 4 have you run a downrigger and on other side run planer boards working either circle or straight line front and then reverse 5 although I currently don’t have fis finder do different species school different for instance a huge school of sandies within a ft. Vs crappie huge school ( same number of fish) would they be stacked in broader range Thermacline are they usually always above and just dipping below to cool off Do you ever take temp of water with thermometer at different levels within the water ( thermometer from triout fishing) does the water temp gradually change or is it pretty steady up to thermacline. Ok I’m done lol Love the show and info
No never used a down rigger. One of the advantages of long lining is getting the baits away from the boat. Just out of the front the baits get to the fish ahead of the boat. Tried live bait and Seams to spin instead swim like a natural minnow. Created a lot of line twist as well.
They could look very similar in open water schools as for as how they look on sonar. Crappie tend stack on structure which are easy to see on today’s electronics.
Never have the only time pay a lot of attention to water temperature is during the spawn. I really just like a stable water temperature Look up the intro on Spotify. Thank you for the comments. Hopefully we can help you a little
As much fun as livescoping is, and I do plenty of it, I thoroughly enjoy pulling cranks and long-lining. My skeeter bass boat identifies more as a crappie rig these day with spyderloks on the back. I find these techniques to be the most relaxing, enjoyable time on the water these days, especially when it's kids back there catching them.
Hey Brad, As far as battery setup for your trolling motor, are you running lithiums? I have a 24v 100ah setup for my Ulterra, was wondering how long your batteries last running a consistent 1.2mph
@@crappieconnection Thanks! That makes me feel better! I just installed the lithiums! I’m assuming I’ll be able to fish 3-4 days! I only fish 3-4 hours at a time! Thanks! Great video!
I would love for you guys to do a show talking about the size hooks you use on your jig-heads. I was watching an earlier show that was talking about biting most of the jig off and the tail was the only thing left. Curious about hook preferences in those situations?
Nothing against LS but its ruining the fisherman more than it is the fishery in my opinion I wonder alot of fisherman on utube if that thing cut off what would u do?🤔 good one brad 👍
Fished a new lake today that I was told there were no crappie in. Followed your tips and slammed em. Thank you!
Heck yeah!!!
What did you do

Only thing I’ve noticed that goes up and down is catfish.

Appreciate what you guys do for us novices.
Thank you for watching
Great note taking video with Brad and Todd May 2022.
I trolled crank baits twenty years ago. I caught big crappie but not a lot of fish.
That’s where I found you . The crappie connection . Great info .

Yes sir 🙌
Excellent great topic
Another good one guys
Appreciate it
I keep hearing y’all say portgibson . Is that the miss river ,or a lake , what lake .
Outstanding video About how far behind the boat do you let your bait start dragging or moving through the water
Close to 100’

Yes sir
I’m running lithium batteries
I can pull two days on a charge under normal conditions

I like to use as big of a hook possible
THUMBS-UP!!!!!!

I’ve gotten to where I can’t fish without it
We can catch them with Livescope or without
Still fish both ways
