We have been trying for a baby for more than a year.we got tested and my husband has zero percent morphology rate where ideally it has to be above 4% .I did hsg and other hormonal tests and transvaginal ultrasound .My results were looking good .And on the next month even before our next follow up appointments I got conceived .I'm 5 weeks pregnant now.we thought we would never get pregnant and was worried that IVF with ICSI would have been the only solution.Out of the blue this miracle has happened.sending everyone baby dusts❤❤❤we are the example that morphology won't be the major issue in getting conceived. so please don't lose hope keep trying miracle can happen anytime

I can confirm that morphology didn’t matter much. We had been trying for almost a year when my husband tested his sperm. He had 0% morphology according to that test but above average motility and volume. Literally 2 weeks after my husband got his sperm analysis, I got pregnant so indeed it doesn’t have that big of an impact.

It makes all the sense, and I always wondered how the scientific community had come to the crazy conclusion that only 4 or 1% of sperms are "nornal". It's like using the beauty pattern to say that only the miss women are pretty.
Sometimes the scientists are afraid to say the obvious and address the Elefant in the room.

We did our 8th cycle of IVF and had the absolute worst level of fertilization yet. The doctor told us the morphology was poor but the eggs were all mature. We used ICSI, zymot, and this cycle we added calcium ionophore. We never had issues with fertilization before. We are floored. We thought IVF + ICSI was the answer to poor morphology even if that was a factor, which it never was before. And we have no answers, and we are running out of money. We have to try again without calcium ionophore or something, because he cut all caffeine out, doesn't drink or smoke, he is overweight but not obese, he is 46. But we did a cycle 2 months prior with no issues with fertilization. I don't get it and it just really is devastating. We're trying everything we can.

Does taking multivitamins and anti-oxidants didn't helped too to improve morphology?

Hello Doc, If general anesthesia is given during embryo transfer, does it affect success rate?

    • @nadinejackson1450

During embryon transfer u are awake … u won’t feel anything . You are only sleeping when u have ur eggs retrieve ( local anesthesia not general ) . Good luck 🤞🩷
